When starting this piece, I knew I wanted to paint something that was immediately recognizable to the movie but also something I could call my own. Luke Evans (the actor who plays the main character) does an excellent job at portraying Vlad/Dracula--- but I always imagined Dracula with some softer-boyish features. I definitely took some facial reconstruction liberties when I started this piece; I hope you enjoy my stylized portrayal of Vlad/Dracula. (The final piece is much larger than 2000 pixels, I had to size it down due to contest rules). Wish me luck in the competition.
Also for those who gave this a quick "once over" and didn't notice, there is a rather large bat hidden inside his cape.
Aquaman swimming with Plískavice strakatá (Cephalorhynchus commersonii - it's really beatiful animal ♥) for the Scribblenauts contest
painted with aniline dyes :3

[ANOTHER DAY IN IMAGINATION ISLAND] AWMAIGAWHGD I CAN FINALLY SLEEP!!!!!
Anyway this piece punched me in the face, threw me into a fiery santa chimney and repeatedly forced me to commit extended-rope bungee jumping off a rocky shore... that I seriously need background practice @_@ I am sorry past self for being lazy! Then again I have colors to practice and 3D effects to worry... OTL *SIIIIIIIIIIIGH*
So to cover up my skill level I made sure it had the air and atmosphere it had over there. The character pose was heavily inspired by *humon's experience in her journal. No matter what differences, we should all at least be able to greet each other without discrimination! Years back, the person I was dating at that time was awed by me saying hello to a stranger that walked by and commented "she's not even that cute!" Dude, am I secretly an alien from outer space without me knowing because I didn't know that there was such rule stating you can only greet someone who you're attracted to! I was just trying to be polite! Besides greeting someone is just manners in society; not a sign of potential flirting. Why am I randing on a contest entry?! This world is filled with mysteries...

My contest entry for the Hearthstone Goblin Vs. Gnomes challange! I really wanted to stay true to my style. I didn't, however, want to totally neglect the typical comic wow style, but in the end I feel like I did that anyway x> For measure, I figured I'd bring the comic expression in with the gnomes in the background.
Working with this composition was difficult. To get the elements to work together I had to pay close attention to the values all the time. That was a challenge for me. But in the end I think it payed off due to the way I was able to depict the utilities of my weapon!
I really wanted to see what Elika would look like as the prince did in his last game,l and this is the result. Maybe pushing it a bit too much in terms of not keeping with the exact style of the new prince game. Hopefully it will go through though, it was fun none the less to see how she might look. Let me know what you think!
Will be cleaning all submissions up before the deadline. Going to try for one more painting, a battle scene (if I get time between freelancing). Cheers for looking!
