I got caught sitting down, and wanted to share how flexible my wings are! They were so easy to wear, I am so happy I did what I did. I have posted up to FB the full blurb on how I made them

Worn at Dragon*con 2012

Hawkgirl from the DC Brightest Day series.

Photo taken by: BGZ Studios
Helmet, Mace, and Chest Logo created by: Skylow Studio

Costume made/modeled by: Kira Kouture, featuring:
- custom drape/ pattern drafted top and legging pants
- custom altered leather boots and belt
- custom built wings

Personal Note:
This was my 1st cosplaying costume, created for Dragon Con 2012. It took me a little over a year to make this costume. The wings are the heaviest and most difficult to construct. They weigh about 40 lbs. The quills are hand stitched so they will not fall/break off if someone bumps into them. The rest of the feathers were meticulously glued to make the wings look as real as possible. I lost count after 800 feathers used on the wings. The wings can also move back and forward by the way my upper body is positioned. So if I lean forward, the wings come forward and if I lean back the wings move back. This was part of the construction of the wings so I can move around in tight spaces, like an elevator.

So pretty much, every picture that ~pireze took on this shoot is BADASS so why deny it by not uploading more pictures XD

And the famous last words that I uttered in my previous Steph submission "I'LL NEVER TOUCH PLEATHER AGAIN"... are currently being eaten since I made another pleather bodysuit a few months after this was completed, and I'm planning another next year lol

This is a Dazzler costume I made for a friend of mine. I made the microphone, and we made the bracers, necklace, and E-6000'd the boots with sequins.

My second Steph costume is Robin!!
I might be working my way backwards through her history

Had the pleasure of working with E Photography on this shoot. I really love Ecky's work on his superhero photography and can't wait to work with him again!
