The White Morgue
Watching, my eyes saw the swaying limbs
thin and starved by winter winds...
Dancing, like moving cracks on the window,
Through which I did stare.
Imagine, the image so morbid above as I gazed.
unnerving to the anchoring blood,
drying up within the veins of my limbs,
much like the branches that sliced the air...
The roots dug deep into my back,
and the anchored blood began to freeze...
My vessels, destroyed by glaciers,
of icy blood, that once flowed.
The travesty, of the bullet plunged into my heart,
whose beat slows, and withers and fades.
Too and so soon, the loss of my life...
Now I play the game of patience...

Nightfall arrive, accompanied by a darkness, serene.
Silence became all sound surrounding.
Many creatures around me came,
Abounding & astounding to my presence.
Before me stood a massive structure of oak,
Colossal, I envied not, the earth carrying its weight.
Three crosses stood, like giants amongst the trees,
Reaching out beneath and to the moon above.
Attaching them was the seal of the Triune of my Lord,
facing both the Heavens and the Earth.
In its core was a web,
Made fresh by a translucent arachnid.
The flesh of its figure, the spider, was given such life
By the pale gaze of the moon.
Its legs stretched wide, and in the light,
Were but a dwarfed allusion to lightning.
We watched, the creatures and I,
with the inspired awe of the sight before us all.
Back over my shoulder did my eyes glance,
To find at a distance a storm forging itself to life, by thunder and lightning.
From Heaven, bellowed the astonishing sound of a horn,
As the opening line of the first act o

I brush her bloody hands as she ignores my cries,
And I will not hate but say heed these sighs.
Once I desired her darling delight,
As I perished by poison to forget about her pitiful plight.
Her face fixes it's gaze upon mine,
Bordered with raven hair knotted and bold,
Was she really young or was my heart too old?
How I would watch her from atop a white hill,
Waiting until sad skies hailed a stormy sign.
What is this elusive emotion I elope?
I touch her taut lips as she walks by me,
And I do not stop but ask when will she see?
Once I lusted her loving lamentation,
As I stared in silence for her scarlet seduction.
Her face fades it's smile away now,
Sullied with pale rain marred and still,
Was she really evil or was my mind too ill?
How I would wander to see her in a red town,
Tormenting until glad ghosts wailed a grisly glow.
What is this fearsome feeling I feel?
I catch her cold eyes as she passes me by,
And I cannot help but ask why did she die?
The HumThe city hums as toxic smokeThe Hum1 year ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
Coils in the air like a snake,
Grasping at the sky pulsating
Grayish color in its wake.
Tall buildings suffocating
Uniformed workers in search for
The nearest subway train,
Emotion stuffed amidst bodies rushing.
Beady eyes scan surrounding terrain,
Sweat rolls down open pores,
Warm breath stains cool air
As bodies litter the sidewalk stains.
Sly glances shared reveal the wear
The metal tombs have exacted
On the soul of the unwilling,
How will they offer any care?
Metal compresses against metal,
Love and hate are merged in one,
Dark smoke coils in the air
Blotting out the unseen city.

Travelling apace, on my own.
Phobos and Deimos moons of Mars

Atmosphere pink, particles of dust
Light years from earth, visit a must.
Imagination will take you there
Just sit comfortably in your chair
Close your eyes, let thoughts run free
Will meet on Mars, half-past three.

Sight of fantasy and delight
High king of Ireland's court did 'tend
Celtic twilight this vision did lend.
Mists of time enclosed my form
Free to wander until the dawn
Looked and saw vision of Celtic gold
On grey hair, on one so old.
Wimples white on ladies heads
Delicate hands long since dead
Rustic oak and dogs that bark
Forest primeval very dark.
Horses grazing, running free
Palfrey for lady did I see?
Mysterious vison impression made
Tapastry woven finest brocade.

Open and ripped apart
Calm wants not, rain
All I see is a fresh start
Let all the rage drain

Peace is the future, hatred slain
Slowly the world turns, a fresh start
Eyes upon the future, a new year, will love reign?

Like a stone into a pond
Having skimmed across the surface
Of life for far too long
Please may I have a new heart
Along with a new mind
I cannot reverse this feeling
No, I'm sorry, not this time
Recently I've been sinking
Into myself like quicksand
No one sees as it swallows me
Each grain a mislaid plan
Please may I crawl inside your love
Mingle hearts until the end
I cannot reverse this feeling
No, I'm sorry, not again
Recently I've been sinking
Such an overused metaphor
But one which is cathartic
When choosing to explore
That I could save you my love
And in time you could save me
As fear and loneliness will dissolve
Doused in our empathy
A Southern DesireA Southern Desire1 year ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Home...Home is where that heart lies,
and my heart burns...
It burns to but a husk of its former self.
Can you not see that allowing the fires to grow,
is no better than tossing more fuel
upon its already aggressive hide?
It merely thirsts for more fuel
and hungers for more kindling...
yet its appetite will never find satisfaction.
This desire from south of Heaven comes,
The heat rises with every spark,
and this is what they want more than you realize.
A writter's faultThe hardest part of writingA writter's fault1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
is not the story line or the plot.
It's not the characters, the setting.
The places you draw a lot.
It isn't about the seasons that make the story change,
and certainly not the years that pass.
It's not the coming of age
your characters go through when dealing with their past.
The hardest part isn't the beginning.
It's not the daring hearoes, or the dual personality villians.
No, actually, it's what you do;
the words that you write to make one character fall,
the one that answers to his Call.
The hardest thing is killing them off,
When they really shouldn't have died at all.

And the war rages on,
The Holds are no longer safe.
But comes forth the Dragonborn, firey and bright,
To fight them, or die, staying strong.

Be you Stormcloak or Imperial bred,
Whether you heed to the Daedra or follow the Divine,
You must defeat Alduin and cut off his head.

Just keep your hand in mine.

Just follow me to the land they lost.

I'll keep you safe whatever to cost.
Tonight may be our last on earth.
Just keep me close and don't back down.
Don't leave me yet,

So just let me love you and keep you safe.

Next, let go of every dream, fancy, and whisy,
Everything will turn black and white, once the colors bleed away.
After impact, the sad fact you'll come to terms with next,
Is the devastating blow of being alone, with no place to call home.
Finally, a gentle pair of arms will crease around you;
Leading you back to the lands of virtue.
Don't fight it:
You may go the other way,
Down the wrong path,
Across the wrong avenue.

The arachnid turned, and receded to the peak of the structure,
The creatures stood as still as the trees,
And soon, they too did retreat back to whence they came in the woods.
A powerful gust came to my shoulders,
And at a drumming pace did it come from above…
My ears then beheld in amazement, the beating wings.
The numbers were the sort that would leave you speechless,
Endless were the children of Creation, loyal to a dying & holy breath,
Swooping down, as their passing pulled me back towards the edge.
Here began my free fall from Omphalos and into the War Zone.
Past the maze which I once did tread, descending the mountains side,
Back down to my place of origin to this journey, where my rose was received.
There did I land as a shade, untouched by what I was to witnessed,
Yet still petrified and still did I stand,
Alike my putrid corpse that was feet from my feet.

Inhuman and many, outnumbering the shine and
