Okami is all about the majesty and beauty of the many different gods, and I wanted to show just that. I wanted to show Amaterasu standing tall over the heavens as the other gods support her along the way. Just like the game.
Art style was also another thing. I was debating as to whether I should try drawing Okami in a different light or keep the whole thing similar to the original art style.
In the end, I decided that Okami wouldn't be Okami if it wasn't for the art style. It is this painted feel that drives and makes this game great! Deviating from this, or changing it would do Okami a great disservice indeed.
Ultimately, I hope everyone enjoys this piece of work. I tried to paint in what I felt Okami was to me, and I hope the message gets to you guys too.
I wanted the title to be " the mushroom kingdom chainsaw massacre" but it would'nt fit (dammit) .
Anyway so this is my entry for the "favorite horror movie"

I determined to design him to be a legendary warrior. This charactor is some kind a very important and special secret charactor in the game. He is not a juvenile warrior but has experience and genius middle-age man.
This piece is dedicated to my Grandma - the most amazing person I knew. She passed into me the love of the nature and showed me how to look 'beyond' and because the autumn was always our most favourite season. She in not with us any more, but for me, she is not gone she is still walking in her garden, looking lovingly at all the life surrounding us and if I close my eyes, I know, she is playing hide and seek with me because I can see her in every leaf, tree, cobweb, blade of grass with her cheeky smile on her face..
I made it using Wacom Bamboo tablet and Photoshop program
This is my entry into the Mama Scared Stiff Contest. We were asked to depict something that scared us as a child so I decided to group a variety of those things into one digital painting.
As a child, one of my biggest fears was musty, damp basements. They were filled with things like spiders, old creepy looking pipes & machines and dark corners where evil things lurked. I always imagined some kind of ghost monster living in my aunt's basement that was making all the strange noises that kept my imagination running on overdrive.
