AnswersTony's heart was beating quickly, pounding at his ribcage as he waited for Steve to answer. He hid the panic and fear behind a cheerful and charming face, hoping that he wouldn't be let down. Rapidly rethinking their interactions for the past few weeks, Tony thought he saw a pattern and a definite interest there. But, his worries whispered, it could just be the polite and thoughtful way that Steve acted. There could be nothing there and he could be ruining one of the few good friendships he had.
"What do you want it to mean, Tony?" Steve asked, catching the barest hints of Tony's inner turmoil. He'd learned to read the genius, to see the emotions lurking deep in his eyes or the twitch of his mouth.
"Now that's not playing fair, Cap," Tony said lightly, taking a sip of his wine. "I asked first."
Steve saw a slight tremor in Tony's hand and realized the brunette was expecting him to brush it off, brush him off. Suddenly, all the veiled references to 40's politeness and chivalry made sens
DancingTony was sitting in his workshop, working on a flaw in one of his gauntlet repulsors. It had a tendency to overload and lean towards exploding when used too much. Tony, however, loved his hands, needed them really, and didn't want that to happen. He was so involved in trying to fix the gauntlet that he had completely missed the fact that Steve had used his access code to get in and was currently sketching him.Dancing2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Tony finally found the problem, a fierce grin on his face. With a deft twist of his hands, he repaired the gauntlet and sighed. Putting it down, he looked up and stretched, freezing when he saw Steve sitting across from him. A cool breeze on the few inches of skin left bared by his t-shirt caused Tony to lower his arms slowly, studying the other man. Was that a slight blush he could see on Steve's face?
"Capsicle," Tony greeted idly, nodding at the blonde man. "Whatcha doing down here?"
"I came down here to ask you a question," Steve said softly, the blush highlighting his cheeks

"All right," he nodded, taking Tony's hand and allowing the shorter man to lead him out to the space cleared for dancing. "Who gets to lead?"
"How about I do, since I asked?" Tony suggested, pulling Steve close to him and placing the blonde's hand on his waist. Steve nodded and laced the fingers of his other hand with Tony's, smiling inwardly as the brunette swallowed audibly. They waited a few beats to catch the rhythm of the music and then Tony swept them around the floor.
Steve relaxed into the dance, the steps exactly the same as in the workshop earlier today. He wasn't able to move without thinking, as Tony appeared to be, since he was conscious of all the eyes on him and Tony. He had to admit, Captain America and Iron Man dancing toge
MasqueradeAfter a while, Tony managed to get himself moving again and back to work. Though, to be honest, it was just fiddling with electronics at his desk while his brain replayed the dance and the, well kiss, over and over again. "JARVIS, where is Steve now?" Tony asked suddenly, looking up from the computer pad he was tapping.
"He is in his bedroom looking through his final selections for his costume tonight," the AI replied smoothly, if a touch smugly. "Would you like me to have him come back?"
"No, no," Tony said hastily. "Let him stay there. I'm sure he's having a hard time choosing what to go as tonight."
"He has," JARVIS confirmed. "He's been asking me for advice. I told him to dress as the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. The outfit from the ballroom scene."

"Put on the suit," Steve said, keeping his voice low and gravelly. "Once we get back, well, I can take it off you again."
Tony groaned but got off the bed, not bothering to put his shirt on either. He followed Steve down to the lowest level where all their uniforms and equipment were kept. They were the first of the Avengers there, but they weren't alone for long. The others joined them quickly, one of Fury's helicopters bringing them back to the tower. Jane and Darcy had come with but they headed upstairs to wait out the coming battle.

It was early morning. Still too damn early. Clint was sitting at the table in the kitchen, slowly eating cereals. In front of him sat Natasha, munching on a toast, holding a cup of coffee. Her eyes were wide open and focused, in contrary to Clint's, whose head was getting lower and lower, nearly falling into the bowl.
"No, I have to go.."
"Sh, not yet, it's still early!"
Clint snapped his head at the sounds coming from the intercom. Natasha didn't seem to notice the muffled sounds, echoing through the kitchen, taking another bite.
"Nnnn.. I have to.."
"Just a quickie, and I'll let you go, promise,"
More muffled sounds. Some smooching. Clint nearly choked on his cereal as he recognized these voices. And he knew that Natasha did too, because she dropped her toast.
Bruce was down in his lab, already working. He pinched the bridge of his nose, hearing the noise. He sighed, thinking that Tony was trying again to Hulk him out, by broadcasting porn in his lab. He
Green With Envy"Tony?" Steve stuck his head in the doorway, peering into the kitchen. It was empty, devoid of the man he was looking for. Natasha and Clint must have left for the day as well, because they were usually in the kitchen in the morning. It was a quiet Thursday morning, and the house lacked its usual chaos and noise. Not that Steve was complaining- it was just a bit strange. He'd slept in just a little later than usual that morning, and much to his surprise, Tony was no longer slumbering next to him when he awoke. Since when did the brunette ever get up earlier than Steve, let alone early at all?
As he started down the stairs, his shoes making muffled noises on the linoleum, the sounds of hushed voices reached his ears. It made sense that Tony would be in the lab, but who was with him? No one but Steve could stand to watch him work, simply because his habits were found annoying and he almost never spoke.
I Know Who I Want To Take Me HomeIt started out harmless enough, as all things involving Tony Stark did. He wasn't malicious or conniving by nature, no, he just knew how to get his way most of the time. And when one has natural charm and charisma, would it not be prudent to use said attributes to one's advantage? Again, no. He really couldn't care less about all the fame and admiration his money and legacy brought him, despite what the tabloids would have people believe. He wanted, and felt he deserved, to be admired and sought after for his genius and engineering aspects that were slowly helping the world become a better place; the natural charm and charisma were just genetics.I Know Who I Want To Take Me Home3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

"I'll be fine," Bruce piped up from behind them, his hand in Clint's. "Agent Barton is enough protection for me."

Tony dragged his feet in the bedroom direction. It was 4 a.m. and he just finished working in the lab, wanting nothing more than to just lie in his bed. His breath quickened as he made it to the bedroom and saw that his bed was already occupied by the muscled figure of Captain America. They were already dating for a while, but Tony still was mildly surprised seeing Steve there. They didn't make any agreement that Steve will be sleeping here, somehow it happened naturally. And it did make Tony happy. He changed into his pajama bottom, leaving his tank top on. He slipped under the covers, next to Steve, not hugging him or anything, just being next to him.
"Tony.." Steve murmured softly.
"Sorry, woke you up?"
"No," Captain opened his eyes with a smile. He moved closer to Tony, letting the covers slid from his body and Tony noticed that Steve was shirtless.
"Take it off," Steve gently tugged Tony's tank top. Tony frowned, and reluctantly took his shirt off, just making sure that the covers

Last night the whole team had gone out to celebrate Clint's birthday. Tony remembered some bits of the night, mostly the parts when he was still sober, which were the boring ones.
"Coffee. I need coffee."
He struggled to get out of his bed and wondered how he even got there in the first place, knowing he was definitely too drunk for that. He shrugged and thought it might have something to do with Pepper, she always did those things.
After his coffee, Tony took a long shower and that's when he started to remember last night's drunk adventures. To his surprise, Bruce was quite a funny drunk and had managed to not hulk out. On the oth

Iron Man’s faceplate snapped up, revealing Tony’s tense frown. “I knew no one would get hurt. Do you really think I would’ve done it if I thought someone would get hurt?” A smirk flashed across his face for a brief second. “They don’t call me a genius for nothing, Steve. I don’t know why you can’t seem to get that.” He turned on his heel to walk away, and the armor fell from him as he went, reassembling neatly in its base.
Steve squared his jaw. Tony always seemed to play the genius card when Steve got angry at him, as if his IQ was supposed to excuse all his faults. “I don’t understand why you feel the need to endanger the whole team like that. Tony scoffed. “You must’ve been figh

Everyone raised their eyebrows and let out a mocking, "Oohh!" Steve pouted, crossing his arms in stubbornness. "I'm no chicken!" he argued, and Natasha giggled.
"Then how come you had to ask for my help to kill that cute little spider that was in the bathroom upstairs?" she purred, and the blonde's mouth fell open while the rest of them turned their gazes onto him.

Steve never particularly liked Director Fury, but he never hated him. Well, not until that morning, when said Director told him about Tony's mission. It was dangerous, too dangerous and Steve argued that no one else on the Avengers team was busy at the moment, they could have assembled. Fury shook his head and explained that Stark was the man for the job. "We needed someone who could quickly understand and disable the enemy's machinery. Their technology is very advanced. We thought of getting Banner involved, but we needed someone who could leave the place fast." And that's all he said before he left

Tony was in his workshop, slumping down in a chair, a half-empty bottle of scotch in his hand. He wasn't a drunk. He stopped drinking some time ago and now just drank alcohol from time to time, just for pleasure. But today was different. He had to shut down his mind. Block all the images in his head. His eyes were red, because he was crying. He didn't want to, but he couldn't help it. It was too painful. And crying didn't help, it just made him feel weaker and more vulnerable. He took another gulp straight from the bottle. Tony closed his eyes, feeling as the alcohol was burning in his throat, and saw it again. A flash of light. Guns firing. Overwhelming noise. Pain. Panic. A thought that he is dying, when he saw a pool of blood on his chest getting bigger and bigger. The bottle slipped from his fingers, but it didn't shatter. He slowly opened his eyes, and realized that he didn't drop it. Someone took it. And now a pair of clean, blue eyes was looking at him. But there was no anger in

There were few things that had changed for Steve after he was given the serum. The most noticeable one was his appearance - from a small shrimp he became a hunk, able to make every girl swoon. Then it was his strength, quicker healing. All of these were considered as perks. But he also saw some drawbacks. First - quicker metabolism. He just had to eat. And he ate a lot. He was kind of embarrassed of it, his appetite nearly as big as Thor's. But every time Tony saw Steve eating, he ate with him too, which was good, because Tony had his days when he didn't eat at all, just ran on a mix of caffeine and sugar. So, maybe after all it was a perk. The second one - his quicker metabolism made his skin like a furnace. He could walk on a snowy day shirtless, melting the falling snow even before it touched his skin. But it just reminded him that he was different from the others. But then again, Tony loved that, and always found comfort when after a long day, he could nuzzle into Steve, enj

He joked that he needs to be able to get in touch with him in case Steve gets lost in the city (which happened only once and it wasn't his fault, the city changed A LOT, but Tony decided to never let him forget about it), but Steve knew that it was his way of saying that he cares. Can't Lose YouThe fight started out well. Clint took the high ground, settling himself on a roof and taking out what enemies he could while reporting on movements. Hulk and Thor waded into the massed ranks of the enemy, each swing taking out a malevolent robot. Captain America and Natasha took the other side, attacking smoothly and efficiently.
