The Slaughtered Children. Why? Why? They were children! Children! How could someone strip a child, multiple children, of their innocence! How could someone strip them of life?
Children are one of the few good things in life. Always learning, not dispicable liars or haters or cheaters like the majority of adults, not able to commit horrendous crimes, not aware of the greater scheme of life going on around them. Believer's they are. In a child's mind, the characters of stories such as Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny are alive. Magic is real and all around us, commanded and cast by the fairies who were blessed by the mighty kings and queens from far far away. In a childs dream, there is no deception, no hatred, no confusion. There is only light and happiness and love, and their imagination is never as strong as it if in childhood.
It is for those reasons, and many more, why I believe children should be treasured. For their beautifully bliss minds and perfectly balanced ignorance. For their imagination, raw and i
Texas Passes the Abortion BillRemember Wendy Davis's passionate filibuster that delayed the extremely limiting abortion bill in Texas? Sadly, the bill finally passed today. http://www.texastribune.org/2013/07/13/texas-abortion-regulations-debate-nears-climax/Texas Passes the Abortion Bill2 years ago in Personal More Like This
While the bill is designed to upgrade abortion clinics to be "ambulatory surgical centers," the money needed to do so is up to the clinics themselves and if they can't meet the requirements, the clinic will naturally have to close. For example: a safe and clean abortion procedure originally would have cost around $540, but now would cost around $1,277. An average clinic costing around $90,000 a month to run and operate would be raised to $137,000 a month. This forced upgrade (along with repeated refusals from republicans to add amendments and exceptions to the bill) has led many to believe that the bill isn't really about helping clinics but a passive-aggressive way to force the clinics to close.

Messsage in a bottleSometimes people cry out for help,Messsage in a bottle2 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
I think we all have witnessed it,
We watch them break,
We watch their tears,
And we see something in their eyes,
The last piece of hope,
The hope that as well could be a message in a bottle.
Who will ever know if someone noticed that tiny little bottle in the ocean,
Or if they did,
Did they pick it up?
I have seen a lot of bottles in my time,
And most of the time I pick them up,
But I notice quite a few times I don´t,
It is like they become invisible,
Even if they scream loudly right in front of you,
I think something is wrong,
Why do we leave the bottle in the ocean?
I clearly can see they need help,
And I see it,
I really do,
How can you pretend not to?

What madness can this be?
She is calling out to me
My name my name on her lustful lips
And now my hands pressed on her hips
Oh! Her smile! Her caress!
That croon which must be blessed!
The clock struck ten
The temptations of a temptress
This woman, so beautiful in every way,
With my heart, she does recklessly play
Her eyes so dark, yet brightly glowing
Her hair so soft and gently flowing
Her skin so silky cannot be soiled
But to the touch, is so deathly cold
The clock struck eleven
The prayer without the belief
What this gorgeous being is, I don't bother
Yet hold silent prayer to our heavenly father
But now's not the time to worry with such strife
For tonight may be the rest of my ungodly life
My heart beats profoundly in my chest
"I love you" my words solemnly confessed
The clock struck twelve
The love of a man unloved
"Of course you do" my love left unreturned
But with her so near, I was unco

And get those big wigs off the fuckin' power ladder.
You ready? Because we're going at it hard:
See I'm the kind of guy that they're all playin' with
A systematic crisis workin' in the way we live.
The big shots still sittin' and they growin' fat.
With young bloods starvin' just to get their life on track.
We take psychometric tests and make a passing grade,
But ain't no job cause the corporate head is gettin' paid.
And when they screwin' with the money, they ain't never cut.

I say the system ain't shit and we all got it wrong,
The old mothers are just stayin' in for way too long.
I say we cut them from the system that they fucked up,
And let the young bloods take it; we'll just fix it up.
They set the game, but we're the ones playin' main;

I know that you're bruised,
And your pale skin is battered.
I can see the scars,
That you're trying to hide,
And I can see the hurt,
Burried beneath your pride.
You're barely holding together,
Your tattered, fraying threads,
The harder you try to keep it in,
The more the hole spreads.
Stop trying to battle alone,
When I'm here with sword in hand,
I can help you pick up the pieces,
There'll be nothing we can't withstand.
Don't give up the fight,
My friend who is so fragile,
Take my hand and let me hold you,
Let me love you for a while.
You think that it's not worth it,
And just want to give in,
So you run the blade down your arm,
Breaking your heavenly skin.
I wish that I could show you,
How much you mean to me,
But you just push me away,
And wallow in your debris.
Why can't you see what I see?
I think that you're amazing,
I love your scars, and your wounds,
And your eyes that are always blazing.

I'm not sure you know what that means.
To you the very word of "justice" suggests that:
Those who do not comply are simply targets to be broken.
Those who do not agree with you, must always be denied.
Those who have the greatest freedom are chained and made to kneel.
And those who choose to fight are labeled 'incarnates of evil'.
Doesn't it all sound a little familiar?
I think it does...

I'm pretty sure you've heard this before, but I love you. Your smile is adorable. You make me laugh when you don't even try. I love seeing you-it makes my day. I know people have told you how I feel before many, many, many times. I can't help but wonder what all of those comments make you think. I'm hoping you think I'm sweet, nice, caring. Not what others have said-creepy, freaky, disgusting. I try my hardest to impress you. I can't help but wonder what kind of impression I'm leaving on you. Is it good? Bad? Am I leaving any impression at all? Do you notice me? Am I ignored? Do you like me? Am I your friend? Do you love me? Question after question floats around in my mind. Wondering if my attempts are working. I try to make you smile like you do for me. I gave you my heart, and so far, you're keeping it safe and unbroken, repairing it when it's needed. You do a very good job of keeping it protected. I'm hoping that one day, maybe, someday, I'll be doing the same for you

Instead I communicated with gestures and signs.

For some time he hides in the pervasive shadows
Earnestly praying that he will not be discovered
A single sound is all it takes to jar him;
Running from a creature that he can barely see
From head to toe it is certainly monstrous
Enshrouded in an aura of absolute repugnance
As the acid drips from its cruel jaws,
Rapidly dissolving the ground below
Fearful, he cowers, beneath boxes and cardboard,
Escaping away into a tiny corner of his mind
Alone with only his anxiety for company
Resting for what might be his very last

And the world has gone on without me.
I stretch my legs and take a walk outside
And for the very first time I see:
A strange kind of beauty, that is utterly alluring
It calls out to my spirit with the gentlest of cries.
I'm afraid to admit, for it was rather unmanly,
That I left with tears in my eyes...
I can't imagine how I could have forgotten
The very way that I used to walk...
I remember now my habitual actions
And I've even learned to talk!
"Arrr me hearties, good day to ya all
It be a fine day ta sail on tha sea
And if we find a plethora o' treasure;
Then yer drinks are all on me!"
I must admit it that brought me a smile
To be speaking my native brogue.
It reminded me that a dashing man
Should always be a playful rouge.
But that aside I'm feeling better
For now my mind has found its peace.
A comforting sense of order and structure
It's almost as rare as the golden fleece.

We only feel the pain and sorrow,
Have we given up hope for a better tomorrow?
The rope is hanging from the ceiling,
Helping us end that miserable feeling.
The pills are scattered across the floor,
Maybe we need to swallow just one more?
Others might refuse to see the cruelty of life,
While others try to end it by the knife.
Trying to get out of this cruel dream,
Sometimes all we can do is scream.
There are others like you out there,
You might not yet know where.
But they try to overcome it,
That's something not all will admit.
Every one of us needs a helping hand,
Facing these torments alone is something none can withstand.
But we would first need to admit and ask,
Be willing to take off this smiling mask.
Before we get to help to finally smile again,
And get rid of all this pain.
