Story: Beware of Them!
Beware of Them
Shinacook Creek, New Mexico
Shinacook Creek... a small quiet town just West of Alamogordo. Population was about 150 people. Emphasis on the WAS. For almost all 150 of them were now missing... and the town itself was torn apart. It reminded Doctor Alexander Valiant of his time spent in Europe back during the War. As one could imagine, they weren't exactly pleasant memories.
New Mexico State Police Sergeant Whitmore was there waiting for him at the hastily built headquarters set up near the center of the town. The big man couldn't help but notice some of the stares he got from the officers, like the kind you saw on folks when they bumped into a movie star, sports celebrity... or in his case... a war hero. Doc tried though, to keep his mind on the business at hand.
The Police Sergeant looked tired and disheveled. He looked like a man overwhelmed. Doc really hoped he could help.
"Thank you for getting here on such short notice Doctor Valiant." stated

Just this one last night I will indulge myself,
Letting my mind go free with thoughts of you.
Unlocking the barriers that protect my heart,
Letting these feelings run unbound.
Just this one last night I will let my heart rule me,
As these feelings caress me inside.
Catching my breath, from the intense heat that boils for you,
Melting the frozen abyss that surrounds me.
Just this one last night, I will let my desires consume me,
Dreaming of your lips devouring mine; leaving me breathless.
Craving the touch of your hands, as they feed the flames that burn.
Longing to have you deep inside me, bringing my body to life.
Just this one last night, I will fantasize that you are mine.
Every night that goes by, I wish you were by my side,
Capturing me in your tight embrace, we drift off to sleep.
Never wanting to let you go; holding you tightly as I snuggle closer.
Tomorrow will come soon enough;
And these emotions will be locked away once again.
My heart sadly knows you don'

It's the nature of things to forget,
Last I remember you're a silhouette.
We're racing against the echoes.
Shaded in hues of red and green,
Deep between the covers and unseen.
I never considered it falling apart.
You can't love something you never knew,
And if you say you did I know it's untrue.
We're nothing but a shadow of regret.
Now I've become stagnate in your mind.
I'm trapped in this cage and can't unwind.
Your words do slither ever closer.
It's a shame I can't just get you out,
You've filled my mind with crawling doubt.
I'm sorry for it all, sorry for everything.
I'm Claustrophobic and the walls are caving in,
The line between life and death is pretty thin.
We.. we were nothing, and we still are.

The rabbit hole of insanity has no bottom and we've captured you now
You'll fall and fall and fall
You'll never stop falling
For there is no bottom of insanity
We hear you've come to play
We hear that you're going to be our new friend
Little Miss Alice we've got a friend here for you
Her name is asylum
I'm sure you'll like her a lot as soon as you do as she says
Swallow the meds like they say
There's no poison label on the bottle
And down you fall, one by one
Little Miss Alice you're losing your mind
We're here to take you away
Little Miss Alice those bloodshot eyes and little spots on your arms are no longer needed
You're drugs won't work here
Little Miss Alice
Poor Little Miss Alice
You're drugs are fading and now it's time
The rabbit hole is above and still you fall
It's time to let your last hope for sanity go
Surrender to our purple sky
And ignore the meds
Little Miss Alice you're here now
The rabbit hole of insanity has no bottom and we've captur

while the pain blossoms as i lose what means so much to me
The CRASH of the thunder so booming and proud
masks the sounds of my heart as it shatters into a million shards
The flash of lightening putting on a show for all
so beautiful to behold but merely a prelude of the tears to come
Soon the rain begins to fall
leaving my tears to be just a few more drops in the downpour
The rain's path down my window
mimics the one my tears etch upon my cheeks
When the clouds part and the sun breaks through
will its light be able to pierce the gloom
Will I once again see the colors of the rainbow
or will all remain a dreary gray mimicking an overcast day

Sad grin on the moon
Steaming ruins on Earth's surface
This world is dying -
Sourire triste sur la lune
Des ruines fumantes sur la surface de la Terre
Ce monde se meurt -
Lighted by the stars
How impatient Nature is -
A camellia blooms
Éclairé par les étoiles
La Nature est si impatiente -
Un camélia éclos
Cold tears falling down,
In front of her mother's grave
Even time has stopped
De froides larmes qui tombent,
Devant la tombe de sa mère
Même le temps s'est arrêté
It never leaves you, the addiction. No matter how long you live, you never stop being an addict. Once you have become one, it never goes away. Once you’re labeled an addict, you will always be one. Some people may forget, or you may move away someplace where nobody knows your past, but you yourself will always know, and you yourself will always remember. You never stop being an addict, the illness is tattooed all over your body, your insides, your brain, it's everywhere. Everyone always says that admitting you have a problem is the first step into recovery, the biggest step. They never tell you that the hardest part has yet to come. You can admit you have a problem ten times a day, but still let yourself give into temptation after each and every admission.
Withdrawal is its own circle of hell. The misery that encompasses your life when you’re in withdrawal eradicates all desire and motivation to fight. If by some miracle you manage to get past it,

The Day The World Changed
July 19, 1943
As he watched the jeep flying through the air towards him, the young hero Alexander Valiant (or just Valiant to his fellow fighters) couldn't help but wonder if, maybe (just maybe), his father had been right. It had been months (almost four now) since the now-missing Ezekial Dillinger bestowed upon him the powers he currently weilded. Months since he disregarded his father's wishes and joined up to fight tyranny and fascism.
And only NOW, as he stared his mortality in the face, did the young Valiant find himself reconsidering his decision. As he dove to the side, the metallic vehicle crashed into the brick and mortar of a nearby pub. Tank fire and explosions echoed throughout the streets as he tried to regain his composure.
"Still alive little American?" asked a deep, accented, voice. It belonged to a towering teutonic titan who went by the codename 'Maciste'. Alexander had
