Kamen Rider Fourze-- One of my favorite super heroes, yet I've never drawn a complete picture of him! Thought I'd allow myself the luxury today. Just to do something different, I drew him using the Kamen Rider Super-1 Legend Rider module.
The BG is adapted from an unexplainable thing my sister does with bottles and light.
This is my entry to the Metal Heroes contest! For those who don't know what Metal Heroes is, do y'all remember VR Troopers or Big Bad Beetleborgs? Those were adapted from Metal Heroes shows. Gokaiger fans: Space Sheriff Gavan is the first Metal Hero. Sgt Frog fans: Kogoro is making fun of Space Sheriff Gavan.
Anyhoo, the contest was to add a new hero to the sadly now-defunct series for its 30th Anniversary! My entry is a classic gaming inspired hero.
Update: Apparently the title has to be "Metal Hero 30th entry" for the contest. I'll change it back to "E Rescue Arcaider" when its over.
I posted a sketch of Gokai Red of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger here: [link] asked me if he could ink and color it, and I, of course said "Dude, yeah!" He did a great job! He filled in some details while he was at it, too.
Gokaiger is an AWESOME show. For those not familiar, it's one of the latest of the Super Sentai series. Super Sentai is converted to Power Rangers for American audiences. Gokaiger has, as you can tell, a pirate theme, and they have the power to transform into any of the previous 34 teams of Rangers via Ranger Keys. While the show sticks to its formula (and occasionally pokes fun at it), the characters are very well-developed and their personalities carry the show. The action is really satisfyingly over-the-top.
I added facial features on my version because one of the official magazine artists who draws the SD versions likes to do that and I thought I'd give that a go.
It's the upcoming Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Wizard! Did this today as sort of a proof-of-concept for how I'm going to do my pieces for Q-Pop's Tokusatu art show... pretty glad I did. There were some production problems with the glue. I'll probably sell this on Etsy on the cheap side due to the glue mess.
