They say that, if you are anticipating—if you are wanting—to go somewhere, then the trip seems much longer than it really is.
And the opposite applies for the alternate case.
That, when you are dreading your arrival, when you don’t want to be going somewhere, the trip to that somewhere gives off the impression of being far shorter than is reality.
This latter case applies a little too perfectly to you.
One moment you’re lifting off of your porch from dropping off your ice skates, the next you’re at the North Pole, the red double-doors looming in front of you.
You feel something squeeze your hand.
You look down at it to see Jack’s pale fingers entwined in yours, holding onto you tightly.
You follow the hand to the connected arm, trailing up until your gaze meets Jack’s.
He’s smiling softly at you, his eyes sad yet reassuring. He jerks his head toward the door as he begins to smirk, indicating that it’s time the two of y

I like to think I’m a fairly sensible person; sometimes beyond my age, sometimes a little bit below –I admit it-. There’s not much about myself I take pride in, but my mind… my mind has always been one. It’s been the one constant in my life that kept me from absolutely hating myself.
I was the one pushing gender boundaries at that epic, tender, oh so important age of 5, hanging out with the boys because of course they didn’t have cooties, don’t be stupid.
I was the one the teacher chose to help her with the other classmates. Well, with their schoolwork anyway. I wasn’t the best role model otherwise.
I was an honor student, wisdom beyond my years. And if later in life my academic achievements weren’t so great, well of course that was because I was bored of it and couldn’t be bothered to keep it up. I was always smart.

You before me, angelic, this vision.
Why do dark tears fall
from those brown eyes, so beautiful?
Why does your face shy from my eyes,
and shroud itself with the hair,
through which I run my fingers?
For what reason, to what cause,
do your limbs tremble in my absence,
and discover tensity in my presence?
Good God, use your lips,
before mine reach them,
as your silence gives consent.
Speak the mind which fascinates my ears,
Spill out the heart that grips tight to my soul.
Bare the soul that mine is forever meant for.
I wish to love you more than you could comprehend,
and purge every trace of affliction...
Bare the soul that mine is forever meant for.

Charlotte Page lay asleep in her soft, cozy bed. A gentle breeze played with her sheer curtains. After a little while, she woke up and rolled over onto her stomach. She stretched and glanced at her alarm clock.
Seven thirty-five five more minutes Charlotte said, sleepily. Then she shot out of bed, I AM OFFICIALLY A SEVENTH GRADER TODAY!!
Charlotte quickly ran over to her closet and grabbed her brand new Ai No Tenshi Junior High School uniform. It was royal blue with the schools crest on the right sleeve. The yellow scarf that went under the sailor collar was held in place with a shiny blue clip with a glittering star on it. As she pulled the shirt over her head, she could smell the newness of the crisp, clean, fabric. She could hardly believe that she was now a junior high student. Why? Because her sixth grade report card was lets just say less than stellar.
Aw, crap! exclaimed Charlotte.

Chapter 16: Dark Trick
The sky was now covered with reddish yellow colors. Sunset; and after that, comes night. You heard a door closing and guessed that it was the winter spirit. You closed your stressed eyes and felt the wind blowing towards you.
Jack hugged himself tightly and shrugged because of the cold. He stood beside you but didn't talk for a few minutes.
"If- If you don't mind…" whispered Jack and broke the silence, "Ca- can you make sure that Mary and my mom will be fine after I'm gone?"
Shocked, you gazed at him and a tear flowed down your cheek. The winter spirit quickly hushed you when you started to sob.
"Ho- how can you be so confident?" you asked still tears flowing from your eyes. "Jack you'll die. Aren't you afraid?"
"I am. I am afraid. Bu- but… you said I have to do it." He said and kissed your forehead. "I have this feeling that I should and I can't resist it. Like, It's like… I don't care about it. Al

The meeting room was in its usual state of chaos. It seemed that everyone was talking at the same time. Luminous and brilliant, the sun's rays of light were barely able to pass through the drawn, khaki curtains sheltering the room from the world outside. Because it was not the only skyscraper in New York City, the meeting room could easily be seen from neighboring towers. Not far down the street, for example, were the Twin Towers. Anyone with decent eyesight could easily see into the rooms of the buildings nearby. The meetings of the UN were meant to be kept confidential, so all possible security measured had to be taken. Mounted high on the white walls, the clock displayed 8:37. Just as the red hand ticked to the twelve, the door opened and China walked in.
"Sorry I'm late," he said to no one in particular. America shuffled his papers and then rose, clearing his throat.

The world's last hope lay comatose in the bed, as he had when she set him there. She shouldn't have expected him to wake up when the door creaked open-he never did. But she never allowed herself to give in fully to that doubt. It was like counting on the Sun not to rise. It would be letting go of hope. And hope was all they had left.
She sighed. Look where hope had gotten them. They were broken, defeated and on the run, barely having escaped with their lives. Their enemies did not rely on hope. They plotted and persisted, learning from their mistakes and trying harder every time, until finally they had succeeded. And they had succeeded thoroughly.
But, she considered, at least they were alive. He w

She paced back and forth in her pen, yapping loudly at the annoying crowd of people outside. Their yells, their laughs, and their screaming continued as it always did for her every day. It was utterly nerve-racking for the anxious Thylacine, she tried yapping louder as though it would make the crowd go away. Make them go far, far away and leave her in peace.
She was, quite literally, caged.
And her only visitors made it no better for her at all. As though being enclosed weren't bad enough, she couldn't even eat whatever little food her keepers gave her without someone taunting her outside the small pen. Whether it was a young child acting loud and happy about seeing such an animal or teens throwing things at her just to see her reaction, she was constantly tormented by their sounds.
By now she'd given up calling, her voice too hoarse to yap anymore. She never stood still for a minute in her prison, pacing anxiously to and fro around the small area she was forced to call her home. She h

A cough startles you.
Someone clearing their throat.
It came from Jack.
You remove your head from his shoulder and look up at him questioningly.
His cheeks are flushed a bright red color, contrasting the pale whiteness of his skin. He’s still staring out over the city.
You sit up properly, his arm falling from you.
“Jack?” you ask, concerned. “Is everything okay?”
He nods, his snowy hair shining slightly in the light, the silver in it emphasized as moonbeams weave in and out of the strands, dancing amongst them.
“I, uh,” he chokes out. He’s obviously nervous about something.
“I…have something to tell you,” he finally manages to say.
You raise your eyebrow. “Yes?” you say, curious. Is there something else about Jack Frost and his extraordinary abilities that you don’t yet know? Maybe it’s a deep, dark secret. Does he really know about your secret conversation with the moon and just didn’t sa

Katara sat on the ground and looked into the dark sky. She remembered her father saying that the stars were pin holes in the sky. She smiled at the thought of her father. She hadn't seen him in so long, and she missed him. She then touched her water tribe necklace and thought of her mother. Naturally, she missed her too.
She sighed and just as she was about to get up Suki sat right beside her. "Thinking of your mother?" she asked compassionately. Katara nodded melancholy at the thought of her mother and father. "Sokka tells me a lot about your mother and father. They were both very brave Katara, I truly believe they are proud of you," she smiled. Katara was suprised that Sokka could open up to anyone besides her, "Really?" "Yes, and he talks about you being such a brave warrior," she said. "No he doesn't," Katara said smiling. "He does!" she said laughing. Katara smiled, "I'll be right back.." Suki nodded and watched Katara leave.

"But she's with that stupid jerk-face! He's Fire Nation! He can't be trusted!" Sokka shouted, waving his arms so rapidly one could mistake him for a fool believing he could fly.
Suki began rubbing her neck, as a muscle was starting to feel just a little twitchy. She hoped she wouldn't have to take him down before he did anything irrational. "Iroh is Fire Nation as well, and he's been nothing but good to you and the others. Is he evil as well?"

All i think about is you
I discover the truth
So much emotion
A little too much to be able to deal with
Getting to know you was a big thing
Gaining the crush was another
You changed my whole way of thinking
You seemed like 'the one'
You were kind
So nice to me
You had this charm i couldn't understand
But then i had this feeling
Something wasn't right
That moment i found out
You had a girlfriend
Seemed to stop everything
My world just fell around me
All i could do was stare into the distance
As tears began to flood my eyes
I recall what i told myself
wait untill ill i was alone to dwell on my feelings
It got to that point later on
I sat down
And there we have it
Everything opened up
Like a dam
The tears flooded down my face
It was never ending
I felt so much for you
And you didn't with me
Story of my life
I later realised
He had his girlfriend all along
He never told me

He walked the dry path of the isolated prison hold. Dying plants and dry grass brushed roughly against each other as a smooth breeze blew through the air. He opened the metal door, its handle cold like ice. The hall shined dimly from the small candles that lit the area. He walked down the dark stairs to and came to a narrow metal door. He opened it slowly. There, in the prison cell just feet in front of him, was the figure of a man. His hair was long, clothes torn and dirty. The man turned his head and scoffed.
"I should be lucky." He said in a deep, intimidating voice. "The new Fire Lord is greeting me with his presence in my lonely prison cell."
The young man glared at him with disgust, almost hurt to know that the man hadn't at all changed.
