To be honest, it is kind of frustrating being confronted with your failures directly, and also painful. Japanese Manga is like martial arts for those who perform it.
But, I am learning more and more, never standing still because I want to become much stronger than now!

Dango and Pocky Recipe!Okay, I promiced two awesome artists on dA, :iconToonTwins: I would give them the recipe for dango. You all can use the recipe to your liking as wellDango and Pocky Recipe!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Here it is...
You require the following ingredients:
1 1/3 cup joshinko (rice flour. Or you can get rice flour and grind it, but it must be ground just enough so it's as a flour. Any wheat grinder would work well. Just use the electronic one. I did it by hand and it hurts>>)
Making the rice dumplings:
Put rice flour in a bowl and add warm water. Knead the dough well (or just use a metal spoon if you want to). Make small round dumplings (the size of rubber balls). Place the dumplings in a (vegetable) steamer and steam them on high heat for 10 min. Cool the dumplings and skewer them in bamboo sticks. (3-4 dumplings each stick.)
Making the sweet sause:
Mix water, sugar, and soysauce in a pan and put it on medium heat. Mix the water and katakuriko starch in a cup an

On adoptable pricing (sort of rant-ish I suppose). This journal is about adoptable-prices and, when generalized, about art-pricing on deviantART in general. On adoptable pricing (sort of rant-ish I suppose).6 months ago in Personal More Like This
I know this is bound to raise a debate, but after what I have recently been seeing in the adoptable-community I'm tackling this topic.
If you feel you may be offended by this, then please stop reading here. That being said, I shall try to keep this journal as polite as possible.
----
First: a little question.
How many of you here have already drawn art for money (or points) or have made adoptables and sold adoptables?
If you have, then congratulations, this message is of importance of you. If you are a buyer of art / adoptables, this message is also of importance.
I've been noticing more and more comments on art of adoptables complaining about the pricing.
Luckily, I seem to not get too many of these (knock on wood), but I still find these types of comments incredibly rude when I come across them.
Mind you, there is a huge difference between:

First off, thank you guys for all the birthday wishes~ ;u; <3 I'm glad a lot of you took the time to say happy birthday~ >u< <3
But in further note, I'd like to say some things for the BFOI and stuff. Because of the recent announcement, I decided that I'm going to drop it. ;v; I'm not thinking that I'm up to the challenge and whatnot. ;v; and so I can have time to do other things, plus focusing on school
Also, I'll be opening commissions sometime soon. >v

Let me start off by saying I can hardly see what im typing right now. So I apologize for any typing/spelling errors.I'll try to keep this short.
The backlight in my MacBook has died and is going to cost quite a bit( a couple hundred) to repair. Which wouldn't be too much of a problem if my old desktop's power source hadn't already been dead and needing replacing. Now throw in the fact that almost all of our 'extra' money right now is going to pay on a house we don't live in any longer to prolong being foreclosed for a few more months. ( I really don't want to get into all the house stuff though, so i'll leave it at that.) This all equals no money for fixing things for quite a long time, like months.
Now the big problem here is that my personal source of income comes from selling stuff online. I can make all the stuff I want and find stuff to sell, but if I can't edit photos I can't do squat. And boy do I have a lot to edit right now.So i'm a bit stuck.
Contest info.Hey~Contest info.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
As you know a couple of months ago I started a contest with my OC's. I didn't get many contestants and had set the deadline for today, May 12th, but with my recent joining of the :iconpkmn-crossing: group I got a few new interested people and even if the deadline was today there were not many finished entries.
With this I decided to extend the contest for until summer's begun, around late June, to let anyone else interested join and I'll "upgrade" the prizes.
The contest will be the very same: Draw one of my OC's found here: http://cherrypup-e.deviantart.com/gallery/37120371 inteacting with one of yours.
And the prizes will be:FIRST PLACE GETS:
400 points!
One free piece, three characters max, doesn't have to be OC's. I won't do: porn, gore, stuff Spongebob related ( ;A; ), no Cupcake stuff, etc.
A llama, a watch if I haven't given one.
Your entry plus another two pieces of your choice in my Featured box.SECOND PLACE GETS:

Recently I found this neat little blog on Tumblr that might interest some members - Fuck Yeah Character Development. What's posted there are all sorts of tips and articles that could be quite useful if you are looking to develop your characters a bit more. I highly recommend it if you're serious about that sort of thing.
Gollum RantA couple of weeks ago I had a long talk with a very talented older lady and gave her tips on how to sell online and gave her pricing and other business suggestions.Gollum Rant1 year ago in Personal More Like This
When she thanked me, she mentioned that what I was doing wasn't common.
She went on to tell me how she had been ignored or flat out demotivated by other crafters when she reached out to them for help on how to improve her works, show and sell them.
This was odd to me because I had always encountered friendly and helpful forums and individual crafters. "Maybe this lady has just had some really bad luck with who she asked...", I thought.
And then, like a domino chain, I heard and read a bunch of similar stories that the same week.
One in particular shocked me: people who only show and sell their works to a select circle of friends, family and acquaitances out of fear of copycats and competition.
Personally, I don't get it.
Competition should make you strive to better yourself AND them, not make you cower in your corner, holdi
Making an Art-WorkProduction of any art work not only involves the actual physical work done on a canvas or paper, but also the mental effort put into conceiving the image. Most people assume that art involves only a play of colors. But it is not so. The mental effort put is as important if not more than the physical effort.Making an Art-Work1 month ago in Art Blogs & Mags More Like This
Traditionally in India, the production of art was divided into two stages- 1. The mental conception of the Image and 2. The Physical expression by way of painting or sculpting of the mental image.
1. Mental conception: This is the most important stage in the creation of an art. An artist may spend weeks meditating or simply day dreaming about the theme he desires to put in colors. In many cases, the time spent to conceive the imagary may be much more than the time taken to paint on a canvas. Especially, when a person desires to paint on a mythological or religious themes, like portraying a picture of God or a deity, one must first understand the essential nature of the deity. He mus

According to Adobe, these seemingly free downloads were/are available only for clients who had already purchased CS2 software:
http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2013/01/update-on-cs2-and-acrobat-7-activation-servers.html
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4974662#4974662For obtaining illegal copies of graphics software, that is.
What I mean?
Adobe is offering various software downloads for free - Photoshop CS2 among others!
Whoever wasn't able to afford them until now should take advantage.
You only need to register for free at the Adobe website. And probably need to set the programs to run in "Windows XP mode" if you're using a newer Windows.
I'm going to test a few of these right now!I have only Photoshop which I bought years ago, none of the others!

10 facts for being proud of your artI wanted to update my journal to forget that depressing crap and write something positive that hope maybe can help someone ^^10 facts for being proud of your art1 year ago in Personal More Like This
those are 10 things we can do to love our art, many time we think (so I do) that our art is crap we want to be as good as somebody else but we just can't, in most of my life I just underrated my art, thinking that the others just say they like my art to be nice to me, lucky enough I learned that my art is good, is great in it's own way and everybody is
1) enjoy doing it, there's no point to make art if you are not feeling it, if you just draw for the others comments you won't ever like at all, there will be something missing, so let's have an awesome time, putting all our effort, and our feelings on it.
2) don't draw what people likes just to be popular, that's just wrong, and also don't stop drawing something you like because of people, our art tell us who we are, tell us about us, what we like, what we want, what we can't stand, if you can transmit something w

Dressphere Contest!!Ok everybody! We had a big ol' discussion, and the majority wants dresspheres! BUT, some of you aren't familiar with Final Fantasy- SO, hopefully I can make this appealing to everybody and give you some ideas if you're stuck at all :3Dressphere Contest!!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Here are the rules!
You can draw ANY character from ANYTHING, anyyyything....any show, cartoon, comic, movie....you name it. Those of you who were interested in drawing Celestine for this contest, you can even draw her in a dressphere! That would be amazing!
So, it's not just Disney, or females! Guys and girls from anything you desire!
Also, you don't have to pick Final Fantasy X-2 spheres, you can pick anything Final Fantasy! Classes from Tactics, FF11, you name it- for example Red Mages, Green Mages, Monks, Dancers, Summoners, Onion Knight, Scholars- here is a huge list of classes to help you out!
So, in short, fit a character to a specific Final Fantasy class, and design a brand new outfit for them! You know, like I did for my Disney Girl

There's no question that the worst thing you can do on a DD is go on and on about how it didn't deserve it, blah blah blah et cetera. The artist had nothing to do with the decision so go to the FAQs and stop being a little bitch. If you can take the time to whine, you can take a little extra to do it properly. :faq873:
I welcome all concerns addressed directly to me. I expect it, rather.
But anyway, this isn't a rant about that. It's a rant about something more insidious: the attitude that DDs are the only thing worth looking at in the whole fucking category.
I'm not directly quoting anyone, but the following is a sample of stuff I've seen. (This is vaguer and a bit nicer than most of it, I'm not that good at being all down with the pointless hating. But the 'I don't read' comments don't give me warm fuzzies either, y'know?)
I don't normally read lit because it bores me, but this was actually dece

Relax, dear reader, for you have achieved a step to making your life only slightly easier on deviantART! Getting a premium membership opens you up to many more possibilities to fill your time on this green website.
If you have a premium membership, there may be a couple of reasons why. One is the obvious reason: you bought one.
Right at the top of your screen - under the "Shop" drop-down list - is a directory that leads you to the premium membership.... buying page.
There's also another button right next to the "Shop" that does the same thing
You could have also been gifted one by another generous deviant!

Interview Kishimoto
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuNCSGl8A-s&featurelayer_embedded
Sakiyomi Jan Bang TV recently had a chance to interview Naruto's creator Masashi Kishimoto. This interview is geared specifically toward the upcoming Naruto's movie Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie. Below is the highlight of the interview:
"Since this time I wanted to write about Naruto properly as a protagonist, and delve deeply into his feelings, I fussed a lot over the ramen shop scene between Naruto and Iruka at the beginning. At one point, the storyboards were all finished but since the images were somewhat different (from what I wanted), I had all of them fixed which was pretty selfish of me. But of course, since the things I'm satisfied with are also present in the scenes I was able to do, I'd like for people to watch them. As for Minato and Kus
