all of us will drown.
As we slip beneath the waves,
what thoughts will bind our spirits?
StarsYou were a streetlight in a starless city,Stars6 years ago in Urban & Spoken Word More Like This
And because I had never seen a star,
I thought you were beautiful
I wanted to watch you for the rest of my life,
Like judgment would fall in love with invincible walls;
But I learned soon enough,
You were just fire in a cage and a broken heart
My days are no longer measured by what I want to believe,
They're only shifts in the coma factory
So when I awoke at the sound of laughter,
I was speechless to find the skies lit;
I was speechless to hear voices singing;
I was speechless to find that I could dream
I remember walking through the city in the dark of night,
The stars began to emerge like angels upon hell;
And I saw you reaching for black sky,
Like envy painted with emptiness,
You wanted what you could never be
I watched your face twist when the stars asked me if I wanted to be free,
I saw the iron tighten around you as your thoughts began to bloom;
Through clenched teeth and hatered,
You told me to leave;
You screamed a lie and claimed that

Hidden from sight,
As real as a leprechaun...
But anything can happen.
Converse with the moon,
Like fairy-tale villains
In your X-Box.
"Heart" loses meaning
But X still marks the spot.
And it all comes down to this;
You aren't, little nobody.
Heartless like your cousins.
Just a shell...
Missing something precious.

you are far away
i wish that were not the case
you could use a hug
many miles between:
roll of earth and branch of tree.
but love? no bounds, friend.
in the sky
new constellations form
can you see them?
and a thumb stuck out -
stars lead my way
the journey is long
but companions are near
fireflies lead the way
smoke and a beer
the smell of canned beans cooking
nylon tent rustling
hand made wind chime
