Mandelbulb 3D version 126.96.36.199 Beta available now!Hey folks!Mandelbulb 3D version 188.8.131.52 Beta available now!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Jesse has just released a new Beta version of M3D; v184.108.40.206 test.
As ever, it's available for free download from FractalForums.com at:
What's new in the 220.127.116.11 test version:
A rather spiffy looking new interface and, in Jesse's own words:
"Some beta testing is needed because of compiler upgrading;
the changes belong to the internal light model, more options
for the diffuse map, panorama camera mode, stereo options.
Some issues should be solved, many new ones to find!
It is just the executable, you can take all directories with files
from the previous version - v18.104.22.168 - if you need them, or adjust
the ini-dirs to the existing ones.
Note: the new stereo options must be used from the same starting
parameters to work properly, I will change this for easier handling.
For now you have to undo the parameters or reload default ones".
Please bear in mind that this is just the executable, so if you are
Update for Mandelbulb 3D - v1.8.3Jesse has released an updated version of Mandelbulb 3D - v1.8.3!Update for Mandelbulb 3D - v1.8.32 years ago in Personal More Like This
Download it from FractalForums at: http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=43
In Jesse's own words;
"Please read the textfile in the archive for a short documentation.
If this version does not work with Win2000, i can only say sorry, dunno why!
USE ONLY SAME PROGRAM VERSIONS TO CONTINUE ANIMATIONS OR BIG RENDERINGS DUE TO COLOR OR LIGHTING CHANGES! ALSO FORMULA UPDATES CAN CHANGE RENDERINGS!
What is new in version 1.8:
- New compiler, new look.
- Transparency option in postprocessing, amount of it in object colors.
- Stereo function is more accurate.
- New diffuse map options for object coloring.
- Saving also the internal image buffer along with M3I.
- Addition option for lighting like intensity for all lights and background
image, usage of downscaled background image for ambient color.
- Drag&drop Png files with internal parameters and textfiles with txt pars

Unlike my version Jesse listened to my praises and added a separate slider for transparency so yes, you can add a reflective AND refractive sphere in the SAME image now
PLUS you can enable reflects on DIFS only for a best effect! Incredible!

Mandelbulb3D and to a lesser extent Mandelbulber have been all the rage over the past year or so giving us a whole new way to experience some of our favourite fractal forms
and showing us new realms of fractal pleasure as infinite vistas from alien worlds open up before us.
Mandelbulb3D was brought to us by the tireless work of Jesse and friends over at Fractal Forums http://www.fractalforums.com/ Taurus66, cKleinhuis :iconbib993: along with
the numerous (no pun intended) formulas made by the likes of luca :icondark-beam: and :iconFractKali: . Not So Traditional Tuesdays #5Okay, so it's a day late. I have a great excuse though! The new "More Like This" is killing me, in a good way. I can start browsing Fractals, and a few clicks(3 hours) later I'm in Scratchboard. This isn't a bad thing at all, just not when I'm doing a feature of nontraditional work. It also shows that my statement, "The things that make one piece of art great applies, for the most part, to other genres. A painter can learn how light and shadow fall from photography, photo-manipulators can learn about composition from a great Manga drawing, and literature can give you the inspiration to try something new or take your work to the next step. You may never try all art forms you see! You can however take what you learn from them and incorpNot So Traditional Tuesdays #52 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Annissina's May FeatureWelcome everyone, to the second edition of my monthly features!Annissina's May Feature3 months ago in Art Features More Like This
First, I'd like to welcome all of our new members to the group! We'll be just 2 months old in a few days, but we already have over 300 members!! :iconcheerplz:
Now, I realise that by taking a week off from these features, we might not be able to showcase all of your beautiful works... but I tried my best to fix this by going back about 2 weeks. I also try to choose artworks from different artists, instead of featuring many works by 2-3 artists. So this was a really hard choice for me and I hope you'll enjoy it! :iconlovesplz:

We will do the features on the first 3 Sundays of each month. If you think it's too often, we could do them bi-weekly, just please let us know! Apophysis 7X 15C - Installer available nowI have made an installer for Apophysis 7X 15C available at xyrus-worx.orgApophysis 7X 15C - Installer available now2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Please be aware that this installer is for Microsoft Windows only. It comes in two versions: for the 32 bit and the 64 bit version of Apophysis 7X 15C. The two versions can be installed side-by-side. Even in a single folder (but be careful - you might not want to uninstall the 32 bit version if you have the 64 bit version in the same folder so I recommend keeping the folders separate)
Unlike for the ZIP-package, 32- and 64 bit version do not come in a single file!
Currently, the german, italian and chinese language packs are shipped with the installer. The other language packs are outdated and for the vanilla version 7x15 only.
The 32 bit-installer offers you to install a collection of DC-plugins as well as two sample scripts. Please mind that upon uninstallation, these plugin .DLL-files will be removed even if they were there before. This also app

Yearly Journal #1Helllooo there people on the web. It is here, Yesss! it's true I finally am able to complete my yearly journal. Also as a special treat, I shall be doing a feature of 30 deviations. I am sorry that I could not do this feature and journal earlier but due to set backs last year by not using this laptop for a month and the laptop to be seemingly not working for approximately 3 or more weeks I had major set backs. I still have many more photos that I haven't uploaded yet.Yearly Journal #11 year ago in Personal More Like This
The year of 2012 had many ups and downs. It was the year of the Summer Olympics. (http://www.olympic.org/london-2012-summer-olympics) Which were in my opinion AWESOME. Martial arts anyone? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QcZGNB6GRc) Also there were many other positive events world wide. (i.e. http://www.globalgoodnews.com/) But even with all of these positive events there were many negatives too. If you watched the news it seemed as though e

I like to think that the things that make one piece of art great applies, for the most part, to other genres. A painter can learn how light and shadow fall from photography, photo-manipulators can learn about composition from a great Manga drawing, and literature can give you the inspiration to try something new or take your work to the next step. You may never try all art forms you see! You can however take what you learn from them and incorporate that into your own work. It could be the difference between stagnating and that breakthrough every artist wants to find! Now on with
No more noise on reciprocal fractalsNo more noise on reciprocal fractals2 years ago in Personal More Like This
With ReciprocalX,Y,Z functions you can get very awesome variations on IFS formulas, the only problem was that the DE was a lot inaccurate! Particularly in the Navi, the fractal never showed up correctly.
More, the only rotations allowed were multiple of 90°, to keep discontinuities horizontal / vertical...
I solved this annoying problem with reciprocalX3, Y3, Z3 - three new functions! Try them and you will be very surprised.
Even rotations are possible without annoying random cut-planes!
A must try imo. Needless to say; reciprocalX3 is completely different from reciprocalX2 ... There is no way to "convert" them too bad. You must study new parameters!
A few common Apo7X15C problems and their fixesI get an error about Apophysis7X.rand and/or Apophysis.undo when I start ApophysisA few common Apo7X15C problems and their fixes2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It's a Vista/7-issue which spawned after using Delphi XE2 as the main compiler (since 15C) You have multiple possibilities:
1. Right click the Apophysis shortcut or EXE-file and select "Properties". Go to the "Compatibility" tab and check "Run as administrator". Try again.
2. Copy your Apophysis folder to the desktop (or "My Documents") and try running it from that location.
3. Go to the control panel and disable UAC ("User account control")
A permanent fix is on the way.
I get a crap ton of access violations when I open Apophysis and/or the Editor window
My assumption is that there is an incompatibility in your settings. Reset them the following way:
1. Exit Apo, hold the Windows-Key and hit "R" on your keyboard. Enter "regedit" and hit return.
2. On the left side, browse to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software" and find the folder "Apophysis 7X".
3. Right click that folder and click "Delete".

MyFlame.at - going live!I have teased you with a secret project going on in the last days and now it is time to reveal what was cooking! I present you: MyFlame.at - a new, sleek yet rich web application to share your fractal flames with your friends and fellow fractal artists!MyFlame.at - going live!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It works like PasteBin - paste an Apophysis-fractal into the box and you will have a short link to the fractal in the top right corner to give your friends so they can grab the flame you shared. But not only that. It also features:
Author tagging - if you wish so, you can tag the fractal you shared with your Facebook-profile. This is optional but useful if you want to assist people in properly crediting you if they decide to tweak your work. If you paste fractal parameters which already have been shared using this application into the box, it will "recycle" the link being created before and also maintain the correct author tag.
Meta information - MyFlame.at automatically parses the fractal

This release is mainly a bugfix release for the 0.47 beta, with many improvements to the user interface fixing issues such as the fractal not scaling when you changed resolution, imaging settings being spuriously reset and not saved properly etc. Hopefully it's a bit more friendly to use now It'll still crash if you try to restore state without having the original params loaded, that'll be fixed in the next release.
Another important change in this build is restored native support for bipolar, thanks to code Xyrus-02 provided from Apo7X15C beta 3. I'm hoping the small difference in handling the divide by zero and negative log etc will finally enable full compatibility - please test this and report if something looks wrong!
* Changed copyright to Glare Technologies Ltd.
* Added Glare Tech's Winter scripting language (not exposed yet)
* Added batch rendering

- Add this journal to your list
- Write a journal about this giveaway (Optional).
And the best part? They all average for 200 comments at the end of their life span.

Did I say that loud enough? One dollar. That's what 100 points are roughly worth.
And what do those people who hold these giveaways get for one dollar?

All of the numerous changes belong to the fractal flames generator T.I.N.A. , this release is some kind of "consolidation release". Complete list of changes:
- resolution and quality profiles for the main editor and the interactive renderer
- quality- and resolution-profile-editor
- quality- and resolution-related settings removed from the Preferences-window
- randomize color keyframe position in the random gradient generator to create more interesting gradients
- use gradients of random size in the random flame generators
- "From Editor"/"To Editor" buttons to quick exchanging from fractals between the editor and the interactive renderer
- rudimentary statistics display in the interactive renderer
- automatically clear the screen in the interactive renderer
- the interactive renderer also now respects the quality setting (from the render profile) and does not "overrender" as quickly as before
- take into account the real density while tonemapping an imag

Normal PolyFolding did not allowed to choose a shift without breaking continuity instead this allows to do so! Try it.
