I've wanted to do a group photo of my dolls for quite awhile now, so I finally did so today.
I think my boy Raven, looks rather pleased to be surrounded by so many girls.
I never thought I'd ever end up with 4 of them. I was so amazed back when I got my first that I never even though I'd end up with more. I'm not currently planning to get more... but if I ever did, I think I'd save up for a Saber Lily DD by Volks... although I'd probably have to sell a kidney to ever afford her.
From left to right: Saber Extra (Volks), Raven (Luts Moon), Nell (Luts Lishe), and Neris (Volks).
-Photo by me. -Taken in my room in front of my figure cabinets. -I have more photos of them posted here: [link]
YAY FOR WICKED!!!!...okay I'm a major Wicked nut....all my friends know this, for you can all ways catch me singing from the musical....XD. This is my favorite character and the one who relates to me most, although glinda and I are both well...a bit off. But Elphie and I have about the same luck XD
This is one of the best and funnest-to-do customs I've made yet! She was made from a Rarity I got and I used Sculpey III clay as usual.
Her hair was a challenge but there weren't any serious problems with it. And the way I did the tail was I actually baked it separate from her in the oven with a little plastic stick in the end of it which I cut off of a launching missile to one of my transformers. It was then superglued and stuck in and it stays in pretty nicely.
Eyes were painted red but they might look magenta (the canon color) because they were originally bluish so it might have mixed in enough.
Cutie Mark looks terrible, I know. I accidentally gave her the wrong musical note, the kind that has the bar going through the middle, so I just filled in that space with some black so now there is one giant bar at the top of the note. I though somehow I could rub it off hence the blackish smear you may see around her rump. The cutie mark on the other side looks much better.
At this time I'm writing this I have covered her hair with mod podge for a glossy texture and to keep it from breaking too easily.
I have also finished her glasses and they look great but they're sorta crooked and they don't really stretch across enough of her face. More than that though, I am having a hard time deciding if I should superglue them onto her face or just find a way to attach and detach them as an extra accessory. Anyone got any suggestions? I would love to hear them in the comments if you have any.
This definitely wont' be the last one of these I create. With how well this one turned out, I will definitely try her again and see how much someone will pay for her on eBay. More likely they will have glasses permanently attached or without them though, I'm not sure how I can do it. But once again, if there is a way, let me know in the comments.
Oh, and btw, that is Firefly behind her. I have sealed the crack and glossed her hair with mod podge and it isn't shown in the pic at the time the photo was taken, but I've painted over the seal with the appropriate color and have given her angry eyebrows although they are very thick and make her look a little butch, but oh well. And that is Ratchet on the right, you know, in case anyone has an emergency I guess.
Above is a color rough of one of the many illustrations I am working on which I am busy finishing up for FanExpo. But to the few reading this blog, Iíll be at the show (table P21B) Ė Iíll have some prints, books and doing some sketches. so if you are attending, come by and say hello!
