Switching To Windows Phone!So as you all know, I've been a Fandroid for the past two years. It was my first smartphone and I've loved using it. With its endless amount of customization and ability to change into whatever you want it to. Over the past month, I've been using Launcher 7 and several other Windows Phone 7 apps, to try and get the experience of a WP. Since the Lumia 920 was announced, I wanted it more than any other phone that was released. I've always admired Windows Phone 7. It's beautiful, simplistic, minimal, fast and fluid. It's something fun that i do with my friends usually every friday and saturday. a group of us meet up at a parking lot and just....hang out...most of the guys and girls there are pretty cool even if you haven't ever seen them in you're life before so there's a sense of fitting in. the basic rule is if you're not a jerk you'll fit in. that being said there are people who do come in who are:
1. Drunk as hell and think their Lincoln Town Car with 6 people in it can waste a GDB STi
2. High school kids who feel that they need to prove something with their Altezza Tail lights and loud to the point of making you're ear drums bleed exhaust

So I've made some new changes on Lumi, my future Visual Style for Windows 7. It will continue to change in some details, and it's certainly not over yet, different parts are still the one from Soft7.
Anyway here's the actual result :

My main ideas were :
more "minimal", less transparent, and add a tiny color.
The window on top left is active, the others are inactive (mainly a difference in the shadow, but the windows themselves are a bit more transparent).
The "Yes" button is hovered, like the Music icons. The DVD drive is selected
I believe the caption buttons are too subtle right now, and I'm still trying to do a nice hover effect, subtle but visible.
It includes the new icons on the Navigation Pane, obviously based on the icons in Mac OS Lion, entirely made from scratch (all of them) with the subtle blue of the theme.

I don't care whether or not it's an app designed FOR the iPhone. If you take a photo of an iPhone on an angle with low DoF, absolutely ANYTHING will look good on it, even a pure white screen. I shit you not. The details and reflections in the phone's body make up at least 90% of the visual satisfaction, completely taking focus away from the actual GUI. "But it shows how it would look in the real world." No mate it doesn't. My human eyes don't have the DoF of an expensive Canon macro lens, nor do I use my phone holding it at a 45 degree angle, and sat in the middle of a professionally lit photography studio. When I buy food, I don't need to see a picture of somebody eating it.
On the flip side to making otherwise hideous designs look like the most amazing thing ever, a photo mock up also makes truly beautiful design look like crap. If you've spent days on end hammering away

So what's this new feature?
At the moment, deviantART has many different types of content (e.g. journals, news and deviations) which are all different to use, located in different places, and produce completely different types of content.
The aim of this new feature is to unify all these systems, making them simpler to use and more consistent in appearance and functionality
How are we going to achieve this?
The most obvious and most widely used content you see on deviantART is Deviations. So the best way of merging all the current content into one, is to make Journals, News and Blogs into Deviations
Why is this better?
Apart from making content on deviantART simpler for new users, Journals and News will gain functions of deviations such as, favourites,
