My Thoughts About The Election We have just seen, in the United States of America, the first mixed race African-American and Caucasian President re-elected for his second term. I believe this election sends a number of clear messages and I feel it behooves us to understand what these messages are.My Thoughts About The Election7 months ago in Editorial More Like This
First and foremost, what I would call the most important thing the Republican Party should learn from this is that you cannot infringe on the rights of citizens. If you try to take away the rights of women, of immigrants, of people with alternative lifestyles, you will continue to lose. This is the Twenty First century guys... things have changed, and you REALLY need to get with the times.
Second, it is very very evident that the American people no longer believe the old conservative line (or should I say lie?) about tax breaks for the wealthy creating jobs. You need to look no further than recent history, each time we have chosen a Republican and enacted these sorts of tax cuts, we have lost jobs

Whilst dreaming of the sun,
A million stars may light the night,
But for her there's only one.
Many years have drifted past
Since last she saw a sunrise,
The Dark Angel with a heart of gold,
And The Vampire Queen still cries.
Times flies if you are having fun,
You don't notice that it's passing;
But when one becomes immortal,
Then it's truly everlasting.
One can face eternity
If there's someone there to share it,
But her anger just feeds madness,
And no longer can she bear it.
The evil Nemset took her life
In more than just one way;
She was brought across, her lover died,
On that Godforsaken

On Friday, in Jacksonville, Florida, Michael Dunn, a 45 year old man shot to death a 17 year old black teen over loud music. It seems that Jordan Davis was a passenger in a car with some friends, in a parking lot of a convenience store, and the teens were listening to loud music on the car stereo. When Mr. Dunn ordered them to turn down the music, they ignored his demands.
Apparently, this gave Mr Dunn all the excuse he needed, to begin firing randomly into the car. He fired at least 8 times, yet only hit Davis (or anyone else) twice. And after the shooting he fled the scene. Bys

In the wake of the tragedy in Newtown Conn. this past week, there's been a lot of stuff bandied about, and I have made no secret of my opinions about the subject. Personally, I fully favor a semi-automatic assault weapons ban, and a ban on high capacity magazines. I have met with a good deal of opposition on this, by people who make numerous claims and excuses and arguments that to me, simply don't wash.
One of the things we've been hearing a lot of, is the "arm the teachers" argument. In some ways, this almost sounds like it makes sense... if those teachers had had guns, they coul

A Questionby Charles Kunkle Jr (fraterchaos)A Question1 month ago in Editorial More Like This
Recently, we've all been hearing a lot about the Keystone XL Pipeline and "Tar Sands Oil". There has been much said and written concerning this, both pro and con. And with the recent pipeline spills, the subject seems to be heating up. But there is a question that, so far, I have not heard anyone asking, and most certainly have not heard anyone even trying to answer.
Now, granted, it's possible someone has asked this question, and it's even possible it's been answered, and I simply missed it, but I'd still like to know the answer, if there's anyone who can actually explain it...
Basically

But it seems I was wrong to
Prejudge, I misjudge, and indulge in my

I see the concrete angel staring down at me
I know her watchful eye has got it's fix on me
And as I walk away with no Identity
I feel her watchful eye close momentarily
I know I'm safe in your arms,
it feels so warm and right,
and when you kiss my face
I fall asleep at night
I see the concrete angel staring down at me
I know her watchful eye has got it's fix on me
And as I walk away with no Identity
I feel her watchful eye close momentarily

Paralysed By Perfection
When you visualise the outcome
all you can see is failure.
You can't imagine anything good
being produced.
It seems like a lot of work to start,
an enormous hurdle.
You might not like what you do,
it might be an embarrassment to yourself.
If you don't show it anyone then who will know
so does it matter?
It feels weird to start, forbidden and uncomfortable.
What if ideas don't come? What if it can't be expressed as I like?
I try to remember Bob Ross and his 'happy accidents'.
Does anything excellent come from the first attempt anyway?
Probably sometimes when you're in that flow
but if you've been locked down and bloc

Ever since the 2012 election, there has been an ongoing discussion about how the republican party can regain it's influence. Many ideas have been put forward, basically from two camps. The moderate republicans say they need to find a way to appeal to the general population more, basically becoming more "center-right" and then there is the bat-crap crazy, ultra-conservative wing (sometimes called the TEA Party) which firmly believes becoming even more intransigent, more unintelligent, and basically, far more bat-crap crazy, is the way to win elections... I think anyone with a bit of sense can see that

He knew the name Classidia,

And darkness in a whirl.
Yet there was no fear of the name
Or the thoughts he had in part,
And somehow he must find the truth
To fill the void within his heart.
Three nights ago he was attacked
Of this there is no doubt,
But the details were elusive,

The vampire's on the wing.
Her bright eyes are red lightning
She rides the sky like thunder,
The yearning is upon her
She seeks to slake her hunger.
Her preternatural hearing
Captures sounds from far below,
A young thief alone is walking,
Her urge begins to grow.
Landing, she takes human form
Concealed behind a tree,
Classidia's the beauty all in black
With skin like ivory.
Her fluidity of movement,
Brings her within his sight,
An enchantress of such promise,
A Dark Angel of the night.
He moves towards her willingly,
With only passion in his eyes;

a questionOk I got a question... if we have to give rich people and big business more tax cuts, because they are "job creators"... so my question is, you've had these tax cuts for at least 8 years now, some for 11 years, and where the are the jobs????a question10 months ago in Editorial More Like This
George Bush gave you tax cuts in 2001, and more in 2003... you have had them all this time, but instead of creating any jobs, you've lost jobs!!!!! So give me this crap about tax cuts creating jobs... what are they going to do if we don't give them tax cuts, not create even more jobs????? And why should we let the rich and corporate jackals hold us hostage?
Tax cuts at the expense of the middle class d

I am beaten; I am pummeled and suppressed!
Walked on like a doormat,
My soul, it bleeds blood-red.
I move outside the flow of life
I am the living dead.
My empty heart is aching
Yet longing to be killed,
So the vacuous pain within me
Stops waiting to be filled.

What of push?
And what of shove?
Check that watch you're running late!
The Queen of hearts will not wait!
A fairy tale is but grim
It's life that's really dark and dim.
Life's a hole that leads nowhere
A Cheshire Cat that's full of air!
Escapism needs mind-bending,
A feast of mushrooms that's unending.
Your head of voices starts to natter
Your secret soul a dark Mad Hatter.
But what of Love?
Is it just all malice?
Yeah; Stuff the Rabbit!
And Screw you, Alice!!!

Will the tears of endless suffering
Bring life to a desolate plain?
If so, there is no shortage,
For the tears fall like rain.

With the last hieroglyph finished, Wati set aside the scroll he had been working on. He closed The Book of the Dead and ran his hands along the cover. Despite the fact he wrote these words on a regular basis, never had it been so hard. Ra had long since disappeared for his usual voyage, and the wick of his lamp was nearly burnt to the end. As the flame died its orange glow was replaced by the ghostly light of the moon filtering through the linens that covered the windows and door of his small hut.
On either side of the doorway, stood the shadows of two pots. It had been many days since Tiankhit had left him, but still the barley continued to
