I got a lot of emails after the last poll about gesture drawing. So I want to recommend one of the best book about it and a few helpful sites.
There are plenty of publications about body drawing. Some are worse than others. But one definitely amazed me! It is Mastering Drawing the Human Figure From Life, Memory, Imagination by Jack Faragasso. Perfectly explains the proportions and shapes. Friendly for beginners and advanced! I often use it. You can buy it online or look for pdf form.
