As the Wheel Turns
Snips and Snails were dripping sweat as they struggled to drag along the heavy wooden cart that dug into the ground. The cart plowed up the dirt and left a sizable trench in its wake. They looked at one another, tired and worn out from pulling the new tyrant of ponyville to the edge of the forcefield. They stopped for a moment to take a quick break. As soon as they had stopped, a glowing red whip snapped at their backsides from mid-air.
"Pull you fools!" the whip snapped it at them twice more. "Somepony set off the magic forcefield and Trixie intends to punish them!" shouted Trixie as she prepared to whip her subjects once more for good measure. She did not have to go through with the final whip, as the two simpletons had begun to move twice as fast as they previously were. Snips craned his head back towards the unrelenting whip wielder.
"But wouldn't it be faster if we had some wheels?" he asked nervously, his voice higher than usual.
Trixie's head snapped up and he

#104) Aren't bronies and furries the exact same thing? I think it's funny that so many bronies get offended when they're compared to furries. I don't see furries getting quite as offended about the comparison. Hah.
Answer: This is really the million-dollar question: are bronies and furries the same thing? The answer is, awkwardly, a little bit of both. Let's set the cards upon the table: there are all sorts of variables that come into the equation when defining exactly what a brony is. That's the first difficulty; if a brony is merely an adult watching the show, then you can't effectively argue that they're furries by definition just for doing that. If you did, then any parent watching the show with their child, or anyone who watched "Watership Down" or "The Animals of Farthing Wood" as children, or myriad other cartoons about animals, would be furries, which is ludicrous.
Just watching "Friendship is Magic" doesn't create a latent association with furries, despite what s

The Crystal Empire was slowly becoming engulfed in a mass of threatening, black clouds; dark as the deadliest of storms. Screams could be heard all around as the crystal ponies began to panic. Up in the tallest tower in the city, Twilight found herself trapped within the confines of a black-crystal prison, the gems risen up from the ground, blocking any means of escape for the lavender unicorn. Just outside, Spike started to feel nervous. His eyes darted from side to side, his feet moved up and down like two, small pistons.
Twilight started to scramble within the crystal-walled trap, looking for the Crystal Heart with a set of panicked eyes.
"The heart? Where's the Crystal..." she started, voice q

Beads of cold sweat rolled down Rainbow Dash's neck. The hot ceiling lights above intensifying the anxiety she felt to such a point that she felt as though she was going to pass out. There she was, standing in the middle of Ponyville's largest store. Her eyes were wide, staring at the newest piece of fan-merchandise being sold.
No, it wasn't anything to do with the Wonderbolts.
It was a limited-time offer Daring Do wallet. Rainbow Dash had to keep her mouth shut to prevent drooling. The wallet was grey and had adventurer's face printed on the front, grinning competitively at some invisible foe. She was a force to be reckoned with, even as just a picture. Hilariously, based on how she looked out of the wallet, Rainbow Dash felt like she was the foe- her hero's ruby eyes piercing into her own like arrows in bows, primed to fire.
Overall, it was beyond awesome, much better t

I held in a growl watching Fluttershy panic in fear as she tried another loop. That pegasus is such a scaredy pony. It had been just about the same thing for the past hour or so. I'd demonstrate the trick Fluttershy would try, she'd panic, fall down, and whimper how sorry she was for failing. She's a pony that you can't seem to stay mad at, but she could be really aggravating at times, though.
Seriously though, I shouldn't be complaining. I was the one that had taken a day off weather duty to spend some time with Fluttershy and teach her a trick or two. But all she seemed to learn so far was a half loop, and how to fall without breaking anything.
Fluttershy sat on the ground, shaking her mane to cover her face. She was obviously embarrassed.
"Its okay, Fluttershy. You put in a great effort. It just takes practice." I had to hold back a choke at grea

A certain pegasus flew back into Ponyville to find the entire town completely deserted. She flew all around, obviously checking the homes of her friends. Twilight’s Golden Oaks Library was all books and no ponies, every dessert in Sugarcube Corner was left untouched by Pinkie Pie, Sweet Apple Acres had no work of Applejack’s done, the Carousel Boutique had no Rarity for all those dresses, and Fluttershy’s cottage didn’t have a single living thing even living there.
Once Rainbow Dash checked everywhere else, she did find one caped figure standing in front of the town square. Next to the figure was a life sized statue of Rainbow Dash, but it was wearing a helmet, a red cape with a golden zipper, red strap on and a cloud making a yellow lightning bolt on it, and four golden gauntlets with tiny white wings for each hoof of the statue. The helmet and gauntlets were rainbow colored and had golden coverings to assure they were made of metal.
Once she flew close enough,

Chapter 4: A day at the beach
Being a member of the weather ponies wasn't an easy job although most of the ponies didn't know it. For most citizens it was only natural that the sky was already prepared for the daily weather when the sun announced the beginning of a new day. Moreover pushing fluffy and light clouds or bringing little rain clouds didn't look difficult either for them. It seemed trivial and so most ponies didn't even pay much attention to the sky and when they saw Rainbow Dash napping they just thought the Pegasus mare was being lazy again. The truth however was the completely opposite.
Although the main weather for all of Equestria was planned by the weather factory in Cloudsdale each country had to made their own plans of how to organize the weather of their country. Sunny days, a little storm and even rainbows had to be planned and organized by the captain of each country's weather team. For Ponyville this task was part of Rainbow Dash's job. At the beginning of

Twilight raced around her library. Her eyes darted up and down every shelf, scanning the spines of the books. Rolls of parchment lay strewn all over the floor as she added more and more books to the large circular table that dominated the floorspace.
"Not this one. Not this one either... Not this one too!" Twilight whispered to herself as she opened book after book, flipping through all the pages in a matter of seconds before tossing it into a random area of the library.
The knocking on the door went unheard as Twilight continued to dash through the various rooms, reading any and every tome, bit of parchment or scroll that she could lay her hooves on.
The knocks grew impatient. Soon they were loud, slamming bucks of sturdy hooves. Twilight, who was nose-deep in An Almanac of Ausneighlian Animals, jerked her head in surprise.
"The door's open!" she shouted.
The hinges gave a tired squeak as a cyan pegasus took a few tentative steps in. A loud slamming noise erupted from the floor above,

It had been probably more then an hour that we've just been walking. Chatting about the randomness things. Things like Flight Camp, the random picnics we shared together, flying, but mostly importantly; it was just us talking about fond memories.
I had no idea what time it was, but I didn’t care. Me and Fluttershy haven't talked like this in like, forever. There was something different about her today. She seemed a little more open then usual, a little more…confident in herself. Whenever we’d share eye contact she’d blush, but would continue staring right at me. I swear, it was like she was staring into my soul; unraveling all of my secrets, secrets I don’t want anypony to know; secrets that only Fluttershy has permission to know. Cause, secretly I love her. She just doesn't know it…yet.

CHAPTER 3: Country as Apple Pie
Beads of sweat poured down Bismarck's orange coat and chestnut mane as he made his way through the spanning acres of the Apple family orchards and gazed at what he considered the most beautiful place in all of Equestria. Having been working since the crack of dawn, he watched in admiration as the emerald and ruby hues of the apple trees began to glow a bright orange with the rising sun until the slowly approaching afternoon brightened the world around him.
Though the morning air was still somewhat crisp, the heat was greater than usual. Pulling the tip of his hat down to cover his eyes, the rugged stallion faced away from the apple tree, reared back, and kicked it with a tremendous force. A loud boom sounded from the shaking trunk and seemingly echoed through the orchard while vibrations from the impact shook the tree like a maraca until every single crimson apple fell towards the ground and into a large wooden barrel at the base.

A white unicorn in royal robes and sparkling crown stood atop a snow-spotted peak. The blizzard responsible for it had been thwarted a full week prior--and hopefully, forever--but from her vantage point, its effects could still easily be seen across the horizon.
In its half-melted state, the snow highlighted the flora of the land below, causing several colors of the rainbow to shine under the moonlight.
Princess Platinum smiled. They almost hadn't done it. Heaven knew she hadn't contributed all that much to their cause.
At that moment, however, she at last heard the hoofsteps of one who had.
"Ahh, Clover the Clever," Platinum greeted the brown-robed violet unicorn who had just traversed the peak's leading trail. "Thank you for showing. I... did not wish to inconvenience you whilst you were napping."
Clover nodded with a light, airy smile. "I appreciate it. Still, I came as soon as I read your note. Is anything the matter?"
Platinum allowed a small, peaceful smile of her own to cros

The mechanical beast gave out a loud roar and stuck its neck high in the air. A blast of fire shot from its open maw, scorching the stone ceiling.
"Run. NOW!" Twilight shouted. The machine roared and lifted it two legs from the floor, the claws now extended straight in front. It then shot out another gout of fire and began to charge down the hall as its wheels moved. The ponies noticed how its tail was letting out even more steam.
The unicorn ran for the door at the other end of the stone hallway, her friends following her. When they made it to the heavy wooden door, Twilight Sparkle tried to push it open but she discovered it was locked. She pounded on it with her hooves. "Open up! Open up! You want the princess Megan to be killed or what?" There was no response.
Twilight Sparkle started to hit the door with her hammer, the tool barely leaving mere dents in it.
Rainbow Dash started to violently slash away at the door with her sword as wood chips sc

Twilight didn't want to resort to this spell being used on her friends, but felt left with no other option. Her horn began to glow as the ground below her started to light up. Chunks of dirt and rock shot up and clasped around Rarity's hooves, stopping her in place.

Scootaloo awoke, the fresh morning lifting her out of her bed in Ponyville. She sighed softly, a very tiny wind in a high place. Insignificant.
That word plagued her. It came up in myriad ways. Lesser, nobody, the worst was worthless. That label stuck to her like burdock in her fetlocks, driving her to buck it off. In late middle school she'd taken up the art of practical drafting and became interested in architecture. Without her old plan in life, making new ones for others felt good.
Plans and drawings and half-done schemes papered the walls. Pictures of houses, street lamps, toys and steampunk clocks sat drafted on the white-on-blue-paper in the sunlight. They'd started as a hobby when she was a yearling, but the hobby turned into an asset, an asset into a career as a vital part of city planning for the Mayor of Manehatten.

Shining stared up at the oak door that towered above him. It was a normal door, no different than a typical door one would find inside a house. But given the contents stored away behind it, it had an unusually grand feel to it, and Shining couldn't help but feel dwarfed in its shadow.
The old grandfather clock down the hall let out twelve loud booms.
It was noon. The high sun's rays shone through a nearby window and across Shining's stationary, white frame. It warmed his fur while he kept his blue eyes locked on the door.
His parents always said how the attic held an eclectic assortment of things, from old music records to hardcover books that hadn't been opened since his grandparents lived in the house a decade before.
Shining imagined his deceased grandfather, the stallion with the amputated hoof and a pair of wild, yet kind, eyes. Shining imagined his still-alive grandmother, the sweet mare that would always have a batch of cookies at her house for him and
