Gothstrike's Return Part 7
Gothstrike regained consciousness. There were three people around her. The doorman from Paudraics stood close by, her intimidating visage slightly marred by a stunningly beautiful body. The alien had ridges along her forehead and her teeth were sharp and pointed.
Standing next to the doorman was the blue-skinned alien she remembered from the scene at Paudraic's. She had a frown on her face as she looked down at Gothstrike. Across from them, on the other side of Gothstrike, stood a man she knew all too well. Officer Harrison looked down at Gothstrike.
The officer spoke "We need to stop meeting like this. You are lucky today Gothstrike," he sneered as he said her name, "No one has decided to press charges. This woman," he gestured at the blue-skinned alien "has vouched for your innocence, and after your target and her employer came in and saw you, they also decided to drop the charges."
Gothstrike's ears were still ringing from the woman's scream. She nodded and said "Then

Gothstrike stood vigil, watching Paudraic's. She had never been in the place, but knew full well that it was a den of inequity, and one frequented by some of the movers and shakers in Angel Falls. She watched the clientele enter and leave, hoping to catch a glimpse of someone who could give her answers.
Her cell phone started to vibrate, and she looked at the display. It was Detective Stewart, one of her contacts in the AFPD. She answered the phone. "Hello Detective."
The detective responded "Gothstrike, I checked into the background of the criminal you captured. He is a known hit-man. I got the warrant to check his accounts, but there has been no major deposit in weeks. We have no idea who hired him, or where he is staying. He must have received cash for the job."
Gothstrike frowned in frustration. Whoever hired him was careful to hide his or her tracks. "Thanks Detective. I'll let you know of any developments." She closed her phone and studied a person walking out of Paudric's

The man replied "You have the men I asked for?"
"Yes sir. I do. Your files never mentioned that Gothstrike could project energy blasts. It caught me completely by surprise."
The man replied "I didn't know. She never really showed evidence of it. Of course, she usually only dealt with thugs and street crime, so she probably never really needed to use it."
Mr. Untouchable frowned "Well, you wanted me to get caught, I just figured I'd have to fake it. Why did you want me arrested in this? The police only have information on one of my identities. It doesn't seem like it will have much bearing."
His employer replied "I wanted a specific officer on your case. It's going to be a fun ride. Remember to get my man to Paudraic's by tomorrow. I want to make her nervous."
Mr. Untouchable frowned "Who? One of the dancers? Waitresses? You aren't giving me much to go on

Gothstrike stood in her room. She was already dressed in her hero's outfit, her face-paint was on. She was staring at the staff on the wall. Smiling, she picked it up. It felt good in her hands. Spinning it, she thought about the good they would do together. The people they will save. Gothstrike walked slowly to the door of her room. It was time to get back into fight. The question was, how bad have things got in Angel Falls?
It was dark already, and Gothstrike was wandering around the Docks. Things have changed quite a bit. Crime seemed to be more organized. The usual inter-gang wars have lessened somewhat. Gothstrike heard that a group known as the Canadian Syndicate were responsible, but didn't know how strong the alliance among thieves was. She knew the docks well, and it felt familiar to get started there. She first looked in on the Bonecrushers, with Marrow having gone missing nearly a year

It was the same as the last eleven bodies. Naked, carved up with strange symbols all over their bodies, drained of blood, and missing ONE body part. In the case of this victim (a 21 year old valedictorian from a nearby College on the night after her graduation), it was her left arm. Parts of her scalp had been pulled out, or maybe torn, leaving weird bloody bald patches amidst her beautiful auburn hair, now dyed reddish-black from the injuries to her head and face.
It was enough to make a man wanna throw up, luckily Doc Valiant was no ordinary man. Yet even he was deeply disturbed by the aggression and violence displayed by this murderer, who the press had dubbed "The Parkway Killer" (as each body had been found dumped in and around a small plot of land called Parkway). Yet amidst it all, the one thing that had truely grabbed his attention were these

Gothstrike and Natell entered Guardian Hall. Gothstrike was using her staff to help balance herself. Her head was pounding, and she was having trouble focusing. She walked into the lab, and saw several Polygirls running around doing various things. Gothstrike smiled and said "Hey Poly. I've had one fuck of a day. I hope you have some news for me."
One of the Polygirls looked at Gothstrike and replied "Yeah, I do. Who's this?" she asked.
Gothstrike answered "This is Natell. She is one of the ladies at Paudraic's. She came to make sure I got home, and to help me figure out what's happening. She's psychic."
Polygirl raised her eyebrows "Psychic huh? Why do you need a psychic? Anyways, the phone belongs to a Father Michael Lebowitz, in Montreal. I've got QS looking into it. Also Angie is looking into things on the Angel Falls side of things."
Gothstrike groaned "You got a Tylenol or something? My head is pounding. I was set-up at Paudraic's. Some ex-military guys made it look like I paid t

"C'mon Brandi, it would be great. I'll play Leia, and Gordon would be Han."
"No! Besides, it is a super hero convention. If we cosplay it should be as actual heroes or villains."
"Hmmm.. How about that idea I had about a year ago. We cosplay as each other! The extra arms I started making for you are in the storage rooms somewhere."
"Yea, that would be cool." Brandi considered, "but who would Gordon go as? I don't have a boyfriend he could cosplay as."
"Good point." Poly thinks for a moment, then smiles. "Maybe he can be a bystander that I saved from terrible villain, and is sooo grateful."
"Heh, yea. Some people can be Very grateful when you save their life." Brandi smiled in remembrance.
Poly was a little shocked. "You didn't! Did you?"
"Oh, maybe a few times. Cute guys need saving too." Brandi said with a mischievous smile.
Poly blushed a little. "Well, I'll talk with Gordon later to see if w

Private James McDermitt didn't like this assignment. Something just didn't seem right about it, but as a member of United States Armed Forces, he wasn't required to like, or even understand his assignment. He was required to do his duty.
He shifted the potted flowers to his other hand, they were heavier than he thought they would be. Must be a good ceramic pot he thought. He had inspected the plants before delivering them, even though he was told not to. There was nothing harmful he could see. There was no bomb or other device in the dirt or the plant.
Sighing, he turned the final corner. He saw a heavily muscled Asian woman sitting in a chair outside the room reading a magazine. Of course he knew who she was. You could not live in Angel Falls without knowing who Lin Li Wong was. The woman stood vigil outside the room of her teammate an
Gothstrike's Return Part 6Polygirl examined the phone in detail. It was a disposable phone, one that couldn't be traced. She easily hacked past the security protocols on it. Gordon Martin stepped out of the elevator into the basement of the Guardians headquarters. He took a deep breath, preparing himself for what he was going to do. Ever since he first seen Paulina Wilson, better known as Polygirl, she had been on his mind. And yet, she had been unconscious the whole he was with her that night, after he had helped kidnap her and then rescue her. After that, he was in a jail cell for a while before he had been released into the custody of the Lone Stranger. Of course, while he was at the Strangers Industry facility, his movements were restricted. After he was accepted into the Guardians, he moved into one of the living quarters in the Guardians headquarters. He had hoped to be able to talk with Polygirl at the Guardians general meeting soon after, but never got the chance to due to what happened at it. And while she often worked in the lab in the basement of the HQ, he never could summon up the courage to go and see her. Until now.

Mr. Untouchable took the suitcase and said "Why are we doing things this way. Gothstrike is good, but I can take her down. Why go through all these hoops?"
Maxwell smiled "Because, if we just take her down, she becomes a martyr. The Guardians will just step in and continue the 'good fight'. We need to discredit them. We want the public to demand something be done about these so-called super-heroes."
Mr. Untouchable frowned "But the actions of the heroes are well-loved by the public. Despite her Soviet background, even the Soviet Superwoman is

Guardian Hall was silent. Gothstrike sat on the ground, tears in her eyes. She knew everything that happened. She could not control her actions, but she remembered every single one of them.
Polygirl was tending to the bruises on Gordon's body. He had quite a few after the fight. Natell sat in the corner, silent.
Gothstrike finally managed to speak "Gordon, I..." She paused, forcing down a fresh set of sobs "I am so sorry. I didn't know ... I couldn't control myself." She was at a loss for words. Nothing like this had ever happened to her. She was always in control. She depended on it. She had spent years training her body to react to every command she gave it. She had honed her reflexes to peak efficiency. All of that, taken away. She felt violated in a way that made her want to curl into a ball, to shut herself away from the world, so it would never happen again.
Gordon looked at Gothstrike with pity in his eyes. No, not quite pity. Understanding. "It's OK Gothstrike. I know what the

An unfamiliar voice called to her. It was a man’s voice. Her heavy eyelids began to lift as she began to raise her arm shakily and wipe the drowziness from her eyes. Her body felt numb, but soon the feeling began to come back – and with it, her senses.
All of a sudden she felt tense, realizing that she was no longer at the detective agency. Her mind raced back to the fight and she remembered what had happened. She remembered she had been defeated by a white-haired, muscular woman. She felt stone beneath her and against her back. As her eyes opened wide she glanced around quickly, taking in her surroundings. It seemed like a cell. Appropriate, as right now she felt like a caged animal.

Detective Jonathan Crane yawned as he walked down the hallway, carrying two cups of coffee. One for himself, and the other for the precinct's current guest, Albert Dupree. Ever since Friday, the Frenchman has been most reluctant to return to his hotel room. Given who they were up against, John couldn't blame him. The Detective was quite familiar with the feeling of paranoia, he was married to one of the premiere heroines of Angel Falls. Not only that, but his beloved was also quite publicly recognized. He lives with his own breed of fear, so yeah... he could sympathize with Albert.

Bernard Kovacs was dead. That was clearly obvious at the onset. To the average citizen he was an elderly wheelchair-bound man of about 79 years of age, who rarely ventured far from his apartment complex. Just your seemingly ordinary senior living in a crummy room of an almost dilapidated building.
But to men like Doctor Alexander Valiant, and those who have worked within the superhero community, he was more than that. Bernard, "Benny", Kovacs was also the legendary crimefighter 'The Black Spider'. Or at least had been at one time. Doc had only truely met the man once in his life, during a mission back in the 70's. Needless to say, with his amazing analytical mind and gift for deductions... the Black Spider left an impression.
Yet now he was dead. Well... more like murdered. Unless someone could find a medical condition that creat

Gordon Martin lay on the bed that had been the center of his world for the last few months. At least he thought it had been months. There were no windows and no clocks in his room, so he wasn’t sure the exact amount of time that had passed. To the left of the bed was the desk that he ate his meals at. To the right was the commode and sink. And at the end of the bed was the bell cord. He couldn’t go further than that due to the collar attached to a chain around his neck. The room wasn’t uncomfortable. It was kept clean and he was fed well, but that didn’t change the fact it was a prison.
He sat up and looked at the cord. When Onyx had first brought him here, she told him that one day he would ring that bell, which would signal that he had given himself to her. His response at the time was to tell her she was crazy, and that he would never do it. But that was then. Before she did things with him, and to him. Sometimes it was gentle and sometimes it was rough, but

Not So Unexpected Guests
It started out as an ordinary morning for Lara Cassidy. Which is kinda odd when one thinks about, taking into consideration the man she was appointed the Liaison position to. A man who was the least bit ordinary, or mundane.
Doctor Alexander Valiant, or just simply "Doc" to his friends.
Her job was simple, keep tabs on the legendary hero, and ensure he's kept abreast of various events. Also to keep tabs on him in case he's called upon. But right now... all she was trying to do... was wake up. So there she stood, in the kitchen, having just finished brewing some coffee. Hopefully this would help in her endeavors to fight off the drowsiness she felt.
The television was on in the next room, the sounds of news anchor voices filling the otherwise void of silence. But as stated, this was starting out as the typical day for Lara. Doc was in his lab (as usual), and she was trying to find something on television. The big

The last thing Doc remembered, before apparently fainting, was meeting a girl (well... young woman) who claimed to be his daughter. Sure he's had many special 'relationships' in the past, relationships that led to certain... dalliances... or interactions. But as far as he knew, none of them had resulted in a child being born. He knew of at least ONE person who wanted (seriously wanted) to bear his child, but that never came to pass due to (mostly tragic) circumstances beyond both of their control (well that and her intentions for the child were less than admirable).
So needless to say, when he finally came to, Doc had some god damn questions.
"You're finally awake." said the girl who claimed to be his progeny. Patricia Valiant was the name she gave. And this... Lady Valiant... was currently sitting in his comfy computer chair. "D
