Cheap and gaudy and worthless
Yet shiny and colorful and new
Break them and you'll make a mess
Of purple, maybe green or blue
Hard plastic, cheap costume tricks
They come in every shape and size
You express their fake finery just for kicks
When they get lost, nobody cries
You can buy them 3 for a dollar
And wind them around your arm
Or you can wear them like a collar
Or even use them to cause harm
Whiplashing people across their flesh
Shoving them down their dry throats
Choking them hard, erasing their breaths
Until one falls forward and croaks
