Here We Go!
BUY YOUR MARKERS HERE. THEY ARE $5 FOR ANYONE AND IF YOU MAKE A FREE ACCOUNT THEY ARE $4. THIS IS COMPARED TO $7 IN MOST RETAIL STORES LIKE MICHAEL'S AND HOBBY LOBBY. OOZAK SELLS LITERALLY EVERYTHING COPIC MARKER RELATED.
When you start buying copics, unless you are gonna buy a lot at once, start by getting all the shades of one color. The set I would recommend would be some of the cool greys, Starting with C2 and then the rest through C9. You dont have to buy all 8. maybe just the first 3 in the set.
Do not combine any kind of penci

For a rather long time now, there have been massive complaints against doll and base-makers. Accusations, saying that base/doll creators can't actually draw anything on their own, and that they're simply unoriginal, creativity-lacking tracers.
You know what, though? If these makers/dollers weren't as popular as they were, you wouldn't give them a second glance. You wouldn't give a flying pickle, and you know it. You'd go about your business and wouldn't even half-bat an eyelash. I have several good friends who are WONDERFUL artists, both in AND out of dolling/base-making. Working with bases also helps curve one's proportion accuracy, as well. Personally, I rarely use them, but I can safely say that I've learned a thing or two from when I have used them.
It just really eats me up to see people ca

This last batch of SYAC strips has really worn me out mentally. I think I’m gonna need to take a small break to recharge my batteries after this. I’ve been finding myself getting increasingly pissed off, angry, hostile, and irritated, even at things that don’t really deserve the frustration. Primarily as a result of having to re-explain incredibly simple concepts over and over and over again, as if my art doesn’t speak for itself.
On top of this, I’ve got a new job, a big project in the works, commissions to finish, and everything else that having a life entails. I don’t feel like I should have to re-explain myself SO MANY TIMES over something as simple as “women are people, treat them as such.” Nor do I feel like I should be sent death-threats over proposing such a radical idea either.
It’s so incredibly sad and pathetic that saying “hey,

PE - The Beef with BasesWelcome to the Beef with Bases article. This may get a little controversial, so put on your heavy duty hats!PE - The Beef with Bases3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
By now, we should all know what a base is. But just for a refresher - A base is a bald, naked figure for people to 'doll' clothes onto. Lately, more people have been making animal bases as well. Some argue that since they can't be dressed up, they aren't proper bases. But a base is a vague term to begin with.
Why do so many people make bases? What's the allure? Many people just start doodling and end up with a body they don't plan on finishing. So why let it go to waste? They fix it up a bit and let other people use it, so maybe others will find inspiration where theirs left off. Other times people are inspired by a pose, and want to practice their anatomy and draw the body. Sometimes people even have an idea in mind - say... a big set of mermaid poses! And more frequently, people see a piece of art t

At my school, San Jose State, there's is an Animation/Illustration program. I'm a student in it. It's a great program-- friendly students, fantastic professors. But we've got problems. Lot's of 'em. You see, the program used to be very small... but it's not anymore. There are over 600 of us, but we only have 3 classrooms. THREE. Students are being denied access to their required classes-- to their educations, which they have paid and worked for, because there simply isn't enough physical space for us all.
The solution seems simple, no? reallocate some less-used classrooms in the art building (of which there are a lot-- the room right next to one of my classes is twice the size of ours, and only used once a week) to the Animation/Illustration program. But the thing is, the distribution of classrooms is decided by department

R.I.PSo apparently a person on Facebook who went by the name of Human Derpy Hooves (MLP ; FiM), on March 4th 2012, unknown to me, had committed suicide due to being physically bullied at school. While I don't know this person personally, nor is she is any of my groups but the death of a Brony especially under such bad circumstances truly saddens me. It tears me up, it really does.R.I.P3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Let's all take a moment of silence for her. My prayers certainly go out to the family of this girl.
Rest in peace Derpy Hooves, there's a heaven for a Brony.

Many, many months ago last July (that's how late this entry is) a cosplay event was held in the most beautiful location that the local cosplay community has ever seen. Fernbrook Gardens the wedding & events destination which you might recognize from our Kuroshitsuji http://behindinfinity.deviantart.com/gallery/29228688 and Harry Potter cosplay photoshoots http://behindinfinity.deviantart.com/gallery/31767781
It was around that time that the world was getting ready for the final Harry Potter movie, so my friends and I decided that perhaps it was about time to push through with our plans to cosplay Harry Potter characters. Parts of Fernbrook Gardens also looked like Hogwarts so we figured it would be appropriate.
Photos are from my friends, some from albums I was tagged in on Facebook, and some from my own camera.
Here I am with most of my friends that I went to the event with, along with Arnel akagii2004 whom we met that day as he was

Mesti Datang! The HobbyCon 2013 Experience!Earlier this year, my friends and I were invited to be overseas guests for HobbyCon in Sabah, Malaysia.Mesti Datang! The HobbyCon 2013 Experience!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Time flew by very fast, and before we knew it...
Our first day was spent doing a lot of eating, thanks to our guide Alyssa I will justify it as us fueling up for an action-packed weekend! We tried nasi lemak for the first time (LOVED IT), had some shaved ice desserts after, then a big dinner of clay pot rice, stir-fry noodles with clams, really tasty chicken wings, etc. and THEN we still raided Pick N' Pay for our midnight snacks because we love convenience stores and we wanted to try things we don't have in Manila.
We planned our cosplays ahead with Team Kachang Puteh, the guests from Singapore. Our theme for the first day of HobbyCon was Shingeki no Kyojin!

First of all, how long have you been dolling? What got you into it?
I’ve been dolling for a really long time in my book. I think it’s been about four or five years now, I remember starting to doll in high school and it’s been three years since I’ve graduated. What originally got me into dolling was a cute little site called Mellissa’s dollies. I happened across it one day at school when I was in computer lab looking for images from the series ‘Tokyo Mew Mew’. Once I found the website I fell in love with the idea of making pixel art and used the bases from that site.
What did you think of dolling before you learned more about it?
At first, I found it hard. I started dolling in Paint Shop Pro 7 all on one layer and found it to be difficult, until I found that I could use layers for it (still looked the s

Hello, welcome to Dolling 101! We'll be going over all the basics that every beginner doller should know. There's a lot, so let's get to it!
Lesson 1: Terminology/Vocabulary
What is a Doll?
It might help to begin this article by telling you what you're reading about! A doll, or as we call them on DeviantArt, Digital Dolls, are small graphics, usually pixel-art, of people and characters. People create these by taking a base body another person has made, and creating art on it - designing clothes and hair, and turning the blank template into whatever kind of character they can imagine.
I will go over dolls more in detail, but that's the very basic description. Please, read on!
What is a Base?
Bases! You're probably familiar with this term. That's right, those pixel line-arts of bald/naked people that

I've got another long-overdue cosplay-related journal entry coming up in a bit!
dA PRO Camera Bag
This is a rather late review, but better late than never! This has been my camera bag for a while the dA PRO Camera Bag.
I find it just the right size to carry my essentials, without being too bulky. A lot of my camera-wielding friends with too-large backpacks have repeatedly expressed their envy. Those straps on the front are for carrying tripods. They're removable if you don't need them.
Rubber dA logo on the back.
And here's how it looks when opened. What I've got in there currently is my camera, extra lens, LED camera light panel, charger, USB cord, extra battery, extra memory ca

For several months of torture, the Directorate kept me in their offices, making me file paperwork on their "test subjects", all while I kept sending applications to the "Dead Zone tourism" branch, to get away from towering cubes of the Directorate, away from cities and transmitter towers that were slowly frying my brain.
Centuries of industrial pollution were inevitably changing the biosphere of our world and the Directorate knew it better than anyone, yet they did nothing to stop it, profit had to be maximized, production had to be increased, customers had to be satisfied. Holes in the ozone layer, irreversible changes in the atmosphere, radioactive fallout, wild-life mutations, the days growing darker and the sky turning black - none of this mattered to them.
These changes must have been so gradual that no single generation was able to protest it.
Everyone was happily, playfully, and joyfully ignoring the world outside o
SO GAIS ...This is random but I was working on Takao's birthday picture ( it's tomorrow don't forget to buy him some cake or sth ) and suddenly wondered if Makoto had been born yet. So I made some calculations you'd find interesting and it might help you have a clearer idea about character's birth dates ( if anyone still cares about that >_>; )SO GAIS ...3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So Beyblade's timeline is confusing as the manga and anime develop in different time periods, in the manga, the whole story develops in about two years or so, so Takao would be 14 when the manga ends. But the anime is divided in three separate years in which the characters are a year older between each season. So I'm taking the anime as it stages their lives a little bit more clearly.
So season one starts in 2001, you can see Takao's age if he was 11 and if he was 13 like the western version suggests. I made some calculations to define his birth year(s) and the date where Makoto should be born (according to the manga )
Takao aged 13 - born in 1988

Contest Announcement~I am officially announcing my first contest, i have planned this for a month and finally i can officially announce itContest Announcement~1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
The idea of this contest is simple, draw one of my OCs Crow or Fox or both if you feel inspired!
They are my original characters. They are creatures with magic but that doesn't make the very special because they live in a world where many things are magical. Also they live in a forest. The place they live in has no cities or technology, only clans of different magical creatures. They have absolutely no contact with humans either although humans do exist in this world, these creatures just stay away from them. Fox is cunning and composed, while Crow is easily manipulated and sincere. Fox is blackmailing him and keeping him under her thumb because she wants to keep him close to her and that is the only way she knows how.
here are images of them for inspiration

It's safe to just assume that most people in their mid 20's right now were raised by The Simpsons
I know it's still on, but i have no idea if its still popular or if anyone still watches it..
But in my slice of time growing up in the 90's, Simps was on every single day! Several times a day!
After school, by channel flipping, i could lineup 6 episodes every night
and I did!
But I recently saw an episode again, that i loved as a kid, and scared the crap out of me as an adult
When the episode aired in 1996, i was just 10 years old, just as Bart was.. is.. permanently..?
I identified with the kids because my own parents didn't have a clue what was cool.
In 1996, i was Bart
Now i am 27, 17 years later i watched this episode again
and it all rang familiar to me for a horribly different reason!
I HAD BECOME HOMER!
Now I too find myself perpl
