Beads of cold sweat rolled down Rainbow Dash's neck. The hot ceiling lights above intensifying the anxiety she felt to such a point that she felt as though she was going to pass out. There she was, standing in the middle of Ponyville's largest store. Her eyes were wide, staring at the newest piece of fan-merchandise being sold.
No, it wasn't anything to do with the Wonderbolts.
It was a limited-time offer Daring Do wallet. Rainbow Dash had to keep her mouth shut to prevent drooling. The wallet was grey and had adventurer's face printed on the front, grinning competitively at some invisible foe. She was a force to be reckoned with, even as just a picture. Hilariously, based on how she looked out of the wallet, Rainbow Dash felt like she was the foe- her hero's ruby eyes piercing into her own like arrows in bows, primed to fire.
Overall, it was beyond awesome, much better t

Huffing and panting as she crawls for the door, Applejack glares at the three fillies that wouldn't get off her. "Apple Bloom, you and your friends need to get off so I can go!" Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo were all clinging to her, begging her not to go. "Consarn it, you three act like you never had a babysitter before! Are you two just going to watch?! Help me!"
Rainbow Dash rolls around laughing and wipes a tear from her eye. "I'm sorry. I'm too busy laughing to help! Besides, it is kind of cute."
Rarity nods and says, "I'd rather not get this dress damaged by these ruffians. I am rather shocked they can slow you down though. I thought you were stronger than this."
Applejack huffs and says, "These three are determined right now!" She gives one good buck and sends them all flying. "Finally, now we can go to the ceremony! Big Macintosh and Granny Smith are gonna be worried if I don't get there to help out soon with the cider!"

Chrysalis was not having a good day. Her schedule for the day was packed with several long meetings, not just with her cabinet of ministers, but with her close advisors, her generals, the palace staff, the list went on.
The majority of governments to the world's numerous, diverse nations went through the same grind, the Queen's Kingdom in the still underdeveloped Far East being no exception, thus was the price of 'modernization'. She personally could not bear these long, tedious meetings with these incompetent buffoons inside that dreary, freezing closet of a room as they were. They already taxed heavily on her free time and basic sleep, but the ones she had today, preceded by those over the last several weeks were proving particularly painful for the ageing mare.
“Your Majesty? Are…are you with us?” That was the polite, formal way of saying, ‘wake up, you lazy mare!’
Chrysalis forced her heavy eyelids open to gl

For a moment, looking at the gaunt figure of the cleric pony, his face a solemn grey mask with wisps of a thin gray mane brushing against his forehead, Fluttershy was able to tear her thoughts away from the dying husk of a pony laying in the next room, and instead tried to sort out the definition of irony. When your last rites are being delivered by a pony who not too distantly resembles Death itself, does that qualify as irony? Or is the transition from a pallid, gravel-voiced vicar to the cold clutches of nothingness just a logical progression?
If the priest could have heard her thoughts, he might have accused her of blasphemy, but the world that he and her grandfather occupied was simply one that she had never been able to grasp. She believed that the world was inherently a beautiful place, and that if there was a force behind the scenes, it only wanted all ponies to live in harmony with each other. Sad things happened to good ponies, but it was no indication of the malevolence of t

Scootaloo munches away on her slice of apple pie like a wild pig, sighing contently when there was nothing left on her plate. She rubs her stomach and says, "Mister Discord, I have to admit, you're an amazing cook. That apple pie was delicious!"
Discord smirks and says, "Then can we assume you're delicious? Considering now you're covered in it." Scootaloo blushes and looks over herself, covered in patches of pie filling. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle giggle, having eaten their pie without making a mess. "Alright, I think it's time you three took a bath."
Scootaloo cringes and says, "You'll never take me alive! Fly away!" She leaps off the chair flapping her wings, and falls flat on her face.
Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom walk over, and Sweetie says, "What was that supposed to accomplish?"
Scootaloo looks up rubbing her nose and says, "I thought if I really wanted to avoid him, I could fly."
Apple Bloom giggles and says, "Scootaloo, you're silly. Chicken

"Okay girls, let's play a game!" Discord picked up a wad of bubbles and shaped it in his hands. "Let's all try shaping the bubbles into something artistic." The three fillies in the tub started shaping their own bubble wads into different shapes. "Okay, let's see what you got."
"I made a beard!" Apple Bloom shouted excitedly before she dawned her bubble beard.
"I made a top hat!" Sweetie Belle placed her hat upon her head gently and tipped it a little. "You jelly?... Yeah, you so jelly."
Scootaloo rolled her eyes at her friends, and took out her own creation. "I made CLoudsdale!" Her friends marveled at her creation, as the bubbles simulated clouds for a rather authentic replica of the city.
"I made a rock," Discord said plainly, holding up the same wad of bubbles he started with. All the girls laughed at him,

The cutie mark crusaders were still sitting on the couch, watching the TV like lazy couch potatoes. Apple Bloom tilted her head to the side and said, "Who knew they had such lovely underground underwater cities on the moon."
"It's the Lunar Republic, pretty cool actually," Scootaloo mentioned as she raised her brow at the show they were watching. "Though, I gotta question their tastes in gameshows."
"We'll be back to extreme underwater basket weaving after these commercials!" The girls groaned when the TV announced this and continued to watch. "There's a new Mare E. Kate and Ash Lee movie coming out, 'Mare E. Kate and Ash Lee go Shopping'!"
Sweetie Belle jumped on all four in shock and shouted, "Olsen Twins?!" Her eyes glowed red as she cried, "KILL!" and leapt at the TV. Her horn slammed into the screen, cracking into it and making it spark a few times before going dead. She hanged there limply, horn stuck, and after a brief moment said, "We are now rid
Mistake in the MakingThe pride he felt was overwhelming, clouding out even the concern, concern that might have been better-founded than the hubris he displayed. But the white griffin was surely a gift worthy of her, perhaps even worthy of her praise, that tenuous thing so difficult to earn. He felt his lips give way to a small, rare smile as he considered what their princess may look like when presented with the great, proud beast.Mistake in the Making3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
As if on cue with his thoughts, the griffin let out a cry that echoed through the balmy night, the call wavering, long, and low-pitched, almost mournful. Had he been a man of a less stern heart he might have sympathized with it they had, after all, taken the creature from the home it had made. But he was not that soft-hearted, and it had been such a beautiful creature, exotic for its rarity, that he could not deny himself the honor of capturing it, no more than he could deny himself the pleasure of presenting it to the princess.

The village was not particularly big. Rather, it was frightfully small, and just as frightfully remote. That said, it was little surprise that every denizen turned out for something so important as the funeral of a good man.
and it truly was each and every one: every man, woman, and child; every son, brother, and father; every maiden, mother, and crone. It was said even the dogs followed at the heels of their masters, even the songbirds gathered in the trees, and the livestock unable to free themselves from their pens bowed their heads in respect. But the story that is still told to this day was how the most notable guest at the funeral of Bai Huan was his finest (and only) stallion.

Spike the "Hero"
The Crystal Empire was slowly becoming engulfed in a mass of threatening, black clouds; dark as the deadliest of storms. Screams could be heard all around as the crystal ponies began to panic. Up in the tallest tower in the city, Twilight found herself trapped within the confines of a black-crystal prison, the gems risen up from the ground, blocking any means of escape for the lavender unicorn. Just outside, Spike started to feel nervous. His eyes darted from side to side, his feet moved up and down like two, small pistons.
Twilight started to scramble within the crystal-walled trap, looking for the Crystal Heart with a set of panicked eyes.
"The heart? Where's the Crystal..." she started, voice q
