Boromir in the scene: "Caras Galadhon" in The Fellowship of the Ring

Boromir:'My father is a noble man, but his rule is failing, and... our... our people lose faith. He looks to me to make things right, I would do it... I would see the glory of Gondor restored. Have you ever seen it, Aragorn? The white Tower of Ecthelion...glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver, its banners caught high in the morning breeze. Have you ever been called home... by the clear ringing of silver trumpets?

Aragorn:'I have seen the white city. Long ago.'

Boromir:'One day...our paths will lead us there. And the tower guard shall take up the call, "The lords of Gondor have returned"'.

Of the three portraits I've done so far, this one was the most challenging, and probably the most rewarding. The reference screenshot wasn't as tightly focused on his face as I would have liked, getting a good picture of it on my DS was a very tedious affair, and painting a person's face in hues of blue just felt strange. I am, of course, very pleased with how it turned out, even though it took nearly a month to complete. I started this painting on the twenty-third of August, shortly after the failed attempt of a different Boromir portrait. I developed the sketch off and on for a little less than a week whilst working on a separate project and was ready to paint by the twenty-ninth. I then spent until the twelfth of September working on it, and took a short break to get a start on the next portrait. After working for two days straight to put the finishing touches on it I feel there's nothing I can do to improve it.

So there you have it folks. The third portrait in the series, and my ninth ever DS painting (for any of you unfamiliar with my work, this was painted on a DSi XL in Art Academy: First Semester). Stay tuned for more.

Thranduil, Elvenking and father of Legolas.

After seeing "The Hobbit", I was just dazzled with the amount of fancy he possessed, haha! So in other words - He had to get down on paper.

Elves… They always seem to captivate me!

It's all pencil work and I added a digital filter to the finished product.

"A sister they had, Galadriel, most beautiful of all the house of Finwë; her hair was lit with gold as though it had caught in a mesh the radiance of Laurelin." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion

P.S.
I slighty modified the face, because I didn't like the first version of it (she looked more like Tilda Swinton than Cate Blanchett). Now she doesn't look at all like Cate Blanchett, but she looks more like my idea of Galadriel. Hope you like it anyway :)
