Cold as a witches tit
Living and dying
Laughing and crying
Breathing and bleeding
Seeing not believing
And all that other crap!
Comes a way of life
Gets worn out
And turns away
It's all fucked up, dude
None can explain it
Doubts of nowadays
Distrust of tomorrow
Old wounds and memories
Happiness and sorrow
Ripples upon the sea
To be or not to be
And all that other crap!

If you're keeping me awake?
Is it the infatuation
That made me start to shake?
Is it so peculiar
If you make me feel brand new?
Is it some kind of obsession
That I have with you?
I watch you when I feel lonely
Is that so wrong?
I think of you when they hurt me
So what if that's all day long?
You make me feel so happy
What if that's all I have?
Should that be taken away
Just because it sounds mad?
Because right now in real life
There's no happily ever after
When I see something I don't like
I can't just skip the chapter
Or quickly press fast forward
On a TV remote control
Real life is but a wound
And you help fill the hole
So keep me in the trance
That you put me in before
You'll be my sweet romance
I won't need anything more
Even though we haven't met
You'll be the one that I adore
And I know you're not a threat
So I can't be hurt anymore

every single day.
And always wished you the best
in every prayer that I'd say.
I hope you know you're special
and no one can contest.
And that you are unique
and quite simply the best.
I hope you know you're strong
and dont let things break you down.
That you may stand your ground
but remember to be a clown.
I hope you remember to smile
and think of tomorrow as new.
That you never let your past
be something too painful to review.
I hope you are a gentleman
and act like you were raised.
Surpass every expectation
and never let your mind be fazed.
I hope you know you're talented
and handsome that is true.
And no matter where you go
I will always comfort you.
I hope you know that distance
wont keep us far apart.
For since you were so little
you always had my heart.
I hope you know that life is hard
but you still must merely try.
That it is full of wonders
so don't let them pass you by.
I hope you know I love you

Hello Mother, Hello Father
This is me your son or daughter
I can't stay long, so I'll say it fast;
I need to go over things of the past
Listen closely, now don't you fret
This letter is to you so you won't forget;
It happened quickly, I understand,
Just listen to my reprimand:
This first part is to you, my mother
The one who didn't even bother:
You brought me into this dead world,
Then you left me to die
You never said one word to me
You never said goodbye
An infant child no more than one
Cries long into the night
The yearning for its mother's tone
To play in its ears has died
As it grew it never knew
Of what a mother would be like
You left me alone in this world
And I cried every single night
The next is to my father so,
You held on tight and never let go:
I love you much
You know it's true
It's not all your fault
So don't blame you
You were young and stupid
In this world
Every night it changed
It was always a different girl
You weren't there

Was carved in my head
Memory by memory
Each note was thread
A smile, a grin
Those notes went high
Those notes went low
Benath the depths of the earth
Each precious note
With a purpose, a reason
And each note rung
Through the gallant halls
Of an auditorium
And when the lullaby
Slowly drifted into the night
And the lullaby was done.

So, today it fell.
It slipped right from
As it fell,
It shattered on the floor
The shards sliced,
And as they spread
So, I bled today.
My heart was ripped
Right from my chest.
As I bled,
I told myself it was for
The blood pooled,
And I looked at it,
But still I couldn't rest.
So, I smiled today.
It spread across my lips when
I wasn't thinking about you.
As it faded,
My heart ached and stomach cramped,
But I knew
That before today
We were friends,
And I could trust you.
So, after today
I leave with a sad smile
As a friend,
Something so special about me,
I'll always care.
Though I wish
That somedays I wouldn't because I can't
But here I stay
For you. As a friend,
Even though you
Broke me. I told you
But I still feel it-
The empty space
Air is filling it,
Because my heart lies shattered
On the floor.
A Man Reborn"Go."A Man Reborn2 years ago in Writing More Like This
Somewhere, Lysanna clawed at the shards of mirror, using the last of her strength to send the message. The words came to Tal'shen as needling pain, piercing her mind. "Forget them," her mother said. "Go now and do as I've created you to do!"
Tal'shen felt her mother die. It did not matter. There was no feeling of attachment; only the drive to carry out her purpose. Growing still, her monstrous form filled the room. She shot two massive tentacles upwards, rending a large hole in the ceiling. Outside, she blinked in the fog. London, that was the name of this city, wasn't it? A good a place as any to begin.
Inside, Maya coughed back the bits of dust and plaster. "Paul," she breathed, wincing at the mass of flesh Tal'shen had left in her wake. She went to him, gasping at his flayed carcass, nothing more than quivering bits of meat and bone. She closed her eyes. One chance.

What a curious, infernal thing to say -
Truly, I didn't know I felt this way.
So immediately I sought out whatever assistance
I might find to steel this compromised flame resistance.
"Envision what you wish you banish," my teacher said.
So I fumed with a fury and visualized the red.
"Out damned spot, out I say..."*
Oh that it were so easy to just simply scold away.
Flash of red...
I saw as I stirred awake in bed.
Feeling the sun's gentle kisses, its rays streaming across my head.
And I turned to embrace a lingering phantasm

...Oh....Oh.... the burning red,
That sizzles, and sears, and scorches my flesh
In the torment of taboo I've found myself enmeshed.
So I cried to every sympathetic spirit,
And every Voodoo Loa that was available to hear it,
"If there be no fuel to sustain this soul,
Then cool my heart to the black of coal."
...Oh.... but still, still the red...
As the sparks flew higher
And I danced 'round the pyre to the dru

Philosophical CatThey say curiosity killed the cat,Philosophical Cat2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
wondering, "What of this? And what of that?"—
an endless array of questions asked
with the answer to one begetting the next.
But perhaps all that dies is an old way of thinking,
with a new line of thought already in making—
an epiphany on the brink, yet missed if caught blinking
when all's on the table and there for the taking.
So with wide open ears and keener eyes still,
the cat listens to all and observes what it will,
biding time patiently to make its appeal,
instinctively knowing when to strike for the kill.
In the ring of discourses where ideas are disclosed
to be debated, supported, or fiercely opposed,
at least the cat wanders where no one else goes
and takes the first step to pave a new road.
Though some may believe the road leads to an end,
others explore the subtle twists and bends.
For where one thought leaves off, a new one begins,
and Philosophical Cat shall be seen once again.

thank them for their kindness, and how great they've been
the glass walls echo with our hearts in a sigh
as loves sandy rainfall drops from falling sky

Not calm like a yoga instructor
Not calm like a lonely coroner in the morgue.
Not calm like a doctor telling someone they have an STD
Calm like the ocean on a cool summer night
Calm like a pilot flying his flight
Calm like a sociopath disposing of the remains.
Calm like an actor, acting this way.
Calm enough to burst into tears.
Quiet enough so no one will hear.
Weary enough, but I still never fear.
Never fear anything, ever, at all.
Never show emotion, so I'll never fall.
Calm like the air right after a storm.
Calm like the sound of an empty dorm.
Calm like a person, not alive anymore.
So very calm.

My tiny hand reached out to the future
Yearning for what's beyond the gates
Of my fragile mind
My hand reached out to touch another
Yearning for what was never to be mine
Of my loving heart
I reach back to the past
And touch my tiny hand
Enclosing my big hand around her little one
And whishing for a better future for her
Than what it already has become.

"Sir, any such information would be confidential. But there has been no report of anyone having a 'fit' or 'seizure' this morning. Now, please step aside!"
"No, no. I'm sorry." Paul backed away, suddenly aware that the queue behind him was becoming a small, angry crowd. A policeman stood nearby, radio held to his lips. Someone coughed, "Nutter," as he staggered away from the kiosk and up towards the London streets.
He scanned the crowd surging into the station, hoping to see the shock of red hair and the deep brown of the jacket. A hand gripped his left forearm.
"Is he here? Did you find him?" A man, maybe fifty, stared at Paul with pleading, mud-colored eyes. The close-cropped, salt-and-pepper hair and hangdog features sparked Paul's memory: it was the man with the belt. The wo

In the endless night.
As the darkness creeps,
Fear cloaks over me.

My humanity drips away
And I smile my sharpened teeth,

Once I remember,

But now it's forgotten.
