Mass Effect 3: Redux 1Chapter 1: Farewell
Commander John Shepard was lying on the couch in what he would call his new apartment, but after the events in the Bahak system, it was nothing more than a lavish prison to him. His home was just an ear shot's away from the Alliance headquarters on Earth, located in hustling and bustling Vancouver, of the United North American States. Lots of tall buildings and lovely patios for those who either had great Alliance connections, or really knew how to get the best in life. Shepard was not one of those people. Although, judging by his current living status, you would not think that. A large condo with snow white walls and floor, lamps giving off a calm blue light, bed and couch made out of special memory foam, working kitchen filled with food of the highest caliber, and furniture that would put the designs of the now extinct Ikea to shame. But all of that meant absolutely nothing to Shepard. After all, all the riches in the world couldn't make up for the l
ME3: The BreakdownThessia was a disaster. Kai Leng stole Vendetta from Shepard, Cerberus now had the information on the Catalyst, and the homeworld of the Asari was now completely abandoned, as all life on it was expunged by the Reapers. Although many Asaris succeeded in leaving the planet before the Reaper fleets finished it off, it was still a hefty blow to their race, and even more so for Liara.ME3: The Breakdown3 years ago in Romance More Like This
Shepard felt awful about that, this was even worse than his mission to the Bahak System, at least there he could've took comfort in the fact that he stalled the Reaper invasion for several more months. But here, there was no upside, no sense of victory, just complete, and utter, failure. For the first time in Jack Shepard's life, he failed in a mission, no matter what sacrifice he took, or promises he made to the Asari on the battleground, he failed.
Tali could see the distraught looks on both the faces of Shepard and Liara. As Cortez took them back to the Normandy in the Kodiak, she honestly co

Her hand is sliding across the table in a dozen different directions and sending brandy in a dozen more. The only thing still dry is herself by some strange miracle. Never Again - Shepard x Tali
After what seemed to be years, the war against the Reapers was finally over. Shepard decided neither to control, nor destroy them. He had grown to hate the Illusive Man after he saw what he really was and, even though Anderson and everybody in the universe, including Shepard himself, wanted the Reapers dead, Shepard realised during these last minutes that he wasn't a murderer.
As he made his last steps, walking away from the little boy known as the Catalyst and headed towards the middle, the choice called 'Synthesis', flashes of his adventure started popping up. His first crew, how it was scattered by the Collectors, his reunion, his feel

Everything was wonderful.

Two years later after Shepard had left the council due to all the political bullshit (if he accepted the offer), Shepard wakes up and looks to his right to see Tali laying there beside him her eyes closed and breathing softly, with her mask off and was cuddled up close to Shepard.
"Commander," Edi said contacting Shepard through his omni-tool, "we are approaching the Citadel."
"Thanks Edi," Shepard said as he looked at Tali's face.
"Shepard there something else," Edi said.
"What's that, Edi?" Shepard asked.
"The Quarian Admiralty board wants to talk to you and Tali about the recent news you dropped on them," Edi said.
"Keelah," Tali said drowsily, her eyes still closed, "I knew there was going to be repercussions from telling them that about us, but this is the fifth time they have called."
"Shall we ignore them a bit longer?" Shepard asked.
"No we better see them this time," Tali said as she sat up and put her mask back on.

My name was Destroyer #24601, it had been approximately two months since the Human known as Commander Shepard had sacrificed himself, for the sake of ending the war against my kind, and the rest of organic and synthetic life. All of us now shared his thoughts, his ideals, and his morals, sometimes I even got his memories. But, like the rest of my kind, I had dedicated myself to ensure the protection of those that Shepard cared for the most. According to my data at the time, the most important person he had was a Quarian named, Ambassador Tali'Zorah vas Rannoch.
I was placed on the planet to watch over her, as many of my kind were to the rest of Shepard's companions. Sent as one of the Reapers designed to protect the Geth and Quarians, but most importantly see over the wellbeing of Shepard's mate, and safeguard her future. However, she was far less willing to do so as I first expected. When I first came to the planet, it was understandable for both Quarian and Geth alike to

Shepard sat in his cabin; half a dozen reports were scattered across the desk in front of him. He picked up the one closest to him and began reading it. Alas, his mind was somewhere else, and he didn't make it past the first sentence before drifting off into thought. He knew exactly where his mind was drifting off to, but he resisted every time his thoughts dared to go down that path. His entire life had taught him to avoid emotional attachment. From his youth on Earth, to the tragedy at Elysium; Shepard knew nothing good came from allowing emotions into the equation.
Shepard set the report down and leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling. Slowly the ceiling gave way to soft, flowing waves of purple. "STOP

Tali watched from the upper part of the war room on the Normandy. She calmed herself and kept looking at him. Shepard. So close, but she was concerned. He looked haggard; he had bags under his weary eyes. He had been looking around the room again. He seemed happy when the Quarian Admirals first came in, but after looking around slumped a bit. She hoped it was because of her. That he still wanted her. She hated having to leave him all those months ago, but after the Alliance took over the Normandy, everyone had to go their separate ways.
Tali stayed calm, she didn't want to give anything away to the other admirals about her and John's relationship. Raan just thought she was happy to see her old ship, not so much just the captain. Tali listened to the group and Shepard talking. Her introduction was coming, she started smiling behind her mask, finally, they could be together again and the war with the Geth would be over with John's help. John

With a little 'hiss', Commander Shepard removed the young Quarians facemask. The fact that he was the very first human to ever see how a Quarian looked like under the tinted facemask of a Quarian environmental suit wasn't on his mind. Just seconds before, the young Quarian Tali'Zorah was babbling nervously, but the moment when their eyes both met no one said a single word. What he saw was so beautiful that he asked the gods how they could have cursed this Quarian to ever withhold her face from the rest of the world. 'Oh my...' were the only thoughts he could muster. Looking into each other's eyes for the first time without any obstructions felt like an eternity to both of them.
It could have been seconds, or minutes, even hours but when Tali saw that warming smile on her Commanders face, all of her fears, her nervousness and doubts vanished in a moment's instant. It felt like a burden, as heavy as the universe fell from her shoulders. 'Keelah.

Darkness had fallen on Freedom's Progress. Snowflakes floated down on the crisp night air, obscuring the scant lamplight. The moon glimmered wanly behind slowly drifting clouds as a distant nocturnal hunter howled in tribute. Snow crunched softly under long-toed feet as a group of quarians navigated the gloomy settlement.
Activating her omni-tool, Tali conjured up a holo-map. It was easy to get lost in this area; everything had a sameness to it. Framed by concrete embankments, this particular district was made up largely of homogeneous prefabricated structures that could be customized to serve as anything from apartments to laboratories. Fuel canisters and supply crates peppered the open areas, while small salvage heaps and the odd bit of equipment could be found tucked away in shadowy corners.
Tali adroitly manipulated the three-dimensional

Garrus and Wrex had already left the Normandy shortly after Sovereign's defeat. She missed them, missed having other aliens on board this ship; now there was only her and Liara. She liked Liara but, between her and Ashley flirting with Shepard, there was no way for herself to flirt, and was worried that Shepard didn't even see her.
"Tali," said a male voice, "you seem distracted, anything wrong?"
It was Engineer Adams, he was a kind human, and was something of a kind father figure to her, "Nothing Engineer Adams," Tali lied, "just worried that this Geth data won't be good enough to complete my pilgrimage."
