This is basically my first time attempt at close up asteroids! I think it turned out quite well! (But god it took time to paint all the shadows on them... xD) So I am pleased with the results! Also tried out some new techniques for the sun! Also turned out quite well! Also, press Download for higher quality!
It's a spacescape, with quite a bit of purple and some experimentation. I had a go at making detailed stars and these have been scaled down for the purpose of this picture. I also wanted to have a variety of planets so I put quite a few in there and did some bright lighting to make it all stand out.
Front Planet was done in 3ds Max, the two others were done in photoshop.
Wooo...it was almost a year ago since I made my previous space art. Quite long ago ehhh...I almost forgot my own techniques
I started this in vue. I wanted to create a good looking earthlike 3D procedural planet. It was quite time consuming, I spend more time on creating the planet itself than the whole scene and Im still not 100% satisfied with it . Later on I decided to make it more interesting, so I made the asteroids and opened it in PS and started painting...
