The Clock StruckThe Clock Struck2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The clock struck nine
The illusion of a beautiful woman
What madness can this be?
She is calling out to me
My name my name on her lustful lips
And now my hands pressed on her hips
Oh! Her smile! Her caress!
That croon which must be blessed!
The clock struck ten
The temptations of a temptress
This woman, so beautiful in every way,
With my heart, she does recklessly play
Her eyes so dark, yet brightly glowing
Her hair so soft and gently flowing
Her skin so silky cannot be soiled
But to the touch, is so deathly cold
The clock struck eleven
The prayer without the belief
What this gorgeous being is, I don't bother
Yet hold silent prayer to our heavenly father
But now's not the time to worry with such strife
For tonight may be the rest of my ungodly life
My heart beats profoundly in my chest
"I love you" my words solemnly confessed
The clock struck twelve
The love of a man unloved
"Of course you do" my love left unreturned
But with her so near, I was unco

To look into his eyes—
Those that scheme your own demise—
Is to relinquish every selfish desire
To go so far
As to blindly light your own funeral pyre
And only relish
In that lavish gift of insanity
To crave his glances,
His graces, his subtle advances
Is to delve into unforgiving vanity
To sigh into his embrace—
Your mind gone away without a trace—
Is to be consumed wholly and completely
To give in and
Suffocate in silence—alone—discretely
And with bated breath
Love the very essence of what is him
To carve out your own heart
Bury it with him—to never be apart
Is to sicken yourself with sweetest sin
To cherish one last kiss—
Is to die—in loathsome bliss

I never smile.
I never speak.
I am too 'shy'.
What they did to me,
It was too hard.
I wasn't strong enough,
In my heart, it is dark.
I want to see them bleed.
I want to see them cry.
I want to kill them .
Just let me try.
I'm not that weak,
I can do that.
I tell you what's wrong with me,
I am mad.
It makes me happy,
Happy, too see them cry.
I would just laugh at them,
And show them my insane smile.
Yes, maybe I am insane,
One day I'll kill them.
I show them how it is to suffer,
Who's that helpless child then?
They'll all be dead soon.
And they'll see,
see and regret,
everything that they did to me.

Because the burden of choice is harsh.
We would rather blame others for our failings,
Instead of seeking an answer within our mistakes.
I am as guilty as anyone else when it comes to this.
How many days have I spent screaming at the darkness;
Spitting bitter words that blistered my own lips...
Even as my eyes grew clouded, shrouded by hate.
I railed against iron walls about a solitude I had created.
Anger became my mask for an open plea:
Because I simply wanted someone to acknowledge me...

I close my eyes, as the black smoke fills the air.
Incense burned to create a semi-choking sensation.
A tiny inkling of the perceived suffering,
But it is enough to make this difficult...
Next, wounds are carefully opened.
Patterns carved into the flesh,
Resembling the nine circles of suffering.
As each begins to form a red river,
An ocean pools beneath my stained elbows.
In the distance I hear the cackling of witches;
Accompanied always by the mad shrieks of those beyond.
Already they can taste the red wine that I ooze
And eagerly, their tongues wag; anticipating the feast.
Concentrate...I have to concentrate
My teeth grind together, as I force them shut,
The pressure causes my jaws to ache and my body soon stiffens.
It seizes up like an iron vault, my mind its secret mechanism;
Twisting, turning, seeking the accepted combination.
I can feel them now, reaching for me...
Tongues begin to lick at my open wounds,

The home of the Willow Wisps
Is not a faraway land
You do not cross wide oceans
Or tread hot valleys of sand
From the hollows of an oak tree
Awakens Queen of the Fae
Small transparent wings shimmer
In the sunlight of the day
On the voyage of sailors
Silent waters bubble to life
And bursts forth a Siren
Maiden of beauty and strife
Serene slumbering Dragon
Nestled in a cave of riches
With gold, silver, and jewels
He has fulfilled all his wishes
The beautiful lovelorn Princess
Locked away in her high tower
He is the noble, radiant sunshine
Come to rescue his sweet sunflower
Magical Forests, Castles in the Sky,
Adventures, Wonderlands, and Dreamscape
Never ending fantasy and fiction
Willow Wisp, won’t you be my escape?
The Willow Wisps sigh softly
It’s time for the magic to go home—
Home within the pages of a fairytale book

The sun was bright overhead, the sky a clear blue with a few clouds floating merrily in the soft breeze. They day echoed springtime with bunnies and ducklings and pretty flowers. Not that anyone ever took notice of these things anymore. Charlie hardly glanced at the day’s serenity as she raced across the downtown streets; her feet slamming against the asphalt in time with the pounding of her heart. Her lungs ached as she gulped in each breath and then clamped her mouth shut in attempts not to scream out through pain and fear.
Charlie had to stop. Her side was splitting, her lungs were raw, and she was too close to tears to keep up the pace. She quickly rounded a corner and side-stepped into the closest building. The glass crackled under her feet as she tiptoed through a smashed front window. The building must have been a gym at some point: there were old treadmills, cycling machines, and weights set up in almo

To the edge of the very abyss I have travelled.
With worn feet, gone bloodied and bare;
Dragged upon stones that stretch like sharpened spines,
Leaving tattered spoils of flesh in my wake...
Even so, I am incapable of halting;
Like a zombie, I remain numb and hypnotised.
Shambling ever onward, toward the glimmer of light.
Eager to be behold the 'she' that awaits me:
A wonderous wellspring of inspiration and knowledge;
Perfect, yet fragile, in both shape and form...
It is her majesty, her radiance,
That leaves me drained...
Alone in the depths, I am humbled and awed.
Yet the admiration that I feel soon turns corrupt,
It renders my thoughts both dark and cracked...
For if any other were to find her,
They would wield her as a weapon.
They would have no need for inspiration.
Creative thought would be an utter simplicity:
Leaving a perfect world, without opportunity...
Indeed I could never share such a thing.
Jealousy leaves me ugly, but still I c

Down he fell into the pits of hell.
Brought into hell by an eldritch spell,
Poor little Timmy who fell down the well.
Alone he cowered and shivered and shook,
He shook for hours, so long it took,
So long it took for him to feel well,
Well enough to explore this hell...
Through pathways littered with scenes most gory;
Most gory indeed was little Timmy's story,
A story of fear and suffering defined,
Poor little Timmy, he ran out of time...
Now then, I think I'll go welcome my little guest...

Six Words for a SlumpSix Words For A Slump:Six Words for a Slump2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
You're tired, unable to create anything.
You feel angry; the anatomy's wrong!
Why won't these words come together?
"Nothing's right anymore, my hands tremble..."
Yet the solution is fairly simple...
I'm showing it to you now;
Break up your ideas, smaller sized.
They come together, like in Tetris.
Rotate the blocks; shape your art.
Draw chibis and stick figures too.
Instead of epics, try a haiku.
How about a six word story?
If your mind is blocked, overheated.
Let it cool; take it slow.
By attempting all the smaller things,
Your art is sure to grow.

I am the unread book
Letters and words within me
Arranged in such a way
This narrative keeps the readers eyes fixed
To the words that I say
Evoking an array of emotions
From the first page to the last
Keep you from putting me down
Chapter to paragraph
Heroes and heroines
Acting out in fictional arenas
Facts and figures educate
And quench lifes thinkers and dreamers
The feel of my page on your fingers
The scent that lies within
They judge me on my appearance
Before the first chapter even begins
So I remain on the shelf
Slowly gathering dust
Nowadays they rarely look beyond my cover

And they are tearing me apart.
Through my rib cage,
They are eating away my heart.
I have you,holding me tight.
You can feel the pulse of my soul
I am afraid,save me.
Make those evil creatures go.
I have monsters under my bed.
They whisper only bullshit in my ear.
Their voices are so quiet for others,
But so loud for me to hear.
I feel like losing my balance,
I will fall soon,
I wonder,did Lucifer
Have his inner demons,too.
I trust them,
And they say you'll leave.
It's like they want to kill.
But you caught my body,
You're the one with my soul's key.
With the color of my artery's blood
on your body, you said to me:
"Don't talk to monsters under your bed,
Cause they don't like us at all.
Sleep,I am here,my love.
They don't know what we know."

I long to taste the sweetness of your flesh,
To roll your meat between my tongue and teeth.
So many times have I come - so close -
To taking that first bite from your neck.
Yet, there is something about you,
A scent perhaps or a sickly sap.
It turns bitter upon my tongue,
Poisoning it; I am left unable to eat...
Much like the caterpillar, covered in spines,
Each bite would spew only bitter venom -
Numbing my senses and dulling the mind;
It would leave me naught but a gormless wreck!
Even so, despite me knowing of the repugnant taste,
I am drawn toward you, like a moth to the flame.
May my wings crumble in the heart of the fire -
& body be turned to dust and ash...
If only for the chance to feast once more!
Ah, my dear - I will have you.
& on that day it will be so sweet.
But for now - I'm afraid that -
I must leave this as a mere - tantalizing - fantasy...

The Flower of EvilThe Flower of Evil:The Flower of Evil2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Evil is but a blooming flower,
It is born from a humble seed
And grows to corrupt a forest.
To watch its infection spread;
To be a part of its existence...
I can think of no better prospect,
Indeed one might baulk at the idea,
Of seeing millions suffer.
To watch worlds scream and writhe;
To see them suffer and die, with living eyes...
Yet there is a mysterious beauty in such devastation,
Fear that shakes me to my very core;
Is transfigured into a twisted pleasure:
As I am frightened, so too am I aroused.
I am addicted to the ephemeral sensation;
To the borderline between rapture and rupture.
To see my own blood soaking from splitting wounds;
Leaves me maddened amongst these blooming flowers

Imagine this, you're sitting there in your underwear (don't try to pretend you're not). It's raining outside and you've been browsing the internet for the past seven hours. It's already 3:13 a.m. in the morning and a sudden hint of nervousness seizes you. It's silly really, you don't have to attend school, nor do you have work in the morning, but somehow you still feel as though you should force yourself into bed.
You crawl under the covers and bring the blanket up to your chin. Your mind runs over all the things you've done today and you stare at the ceiling, trying to find a comfortable spot on the bed, listening to the sound of rain as it goes pitter-patter on your window. Yet, somehow, the rain sounds different tonight. You feel a strange sinking in your chest and a rising sensation of fear.
The pitter-patter no longer sounds like gentle droplets of water hitting the glass. It sounds more

The moon tonight is brilliant, for it casts an eerie-looking shadow upon the moss and the stone. At times I find myself wondering, is that me that I see? Or is it merely another side of me, one that hides amongst the shade?
Ugh, that horrid moaning! That evil rattling, rasping noise! It's driving itself into my skull again, like an annoying repetition that I can't seem to quiet. It screeches at times, like nails upon a chalkboard. It buries itself deep into the recesses of my mind and fills the hole with rot! A fetid fungus spitting serpentine venom from the eyes of a fox!
What? What are you saying? What do you mean! Tell me god damn it!
Ha...Ha...I can hear myself breathing; barely through the fog. The sound is far away, like the deeps of a bog. I can't believe that I'm rhyming, what the hell

As the feeling of life itself
Crumbles beneath each ounce of pain.
Needles slowly piercing into the body,
Paralyzing nerves and expressions.
A mask of pure horror; living terror,
Kept alive on the barest limit of the border.
Such tempting features,
Leave me eager to slip a knife beneath flesh.
Ripping soft layers of epidermal mache,
Tanned and dried, woven slowly into a loving mask.
And with my latest acquisition complete,
Only twenty spaces remain...
