OBJECTIVE: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND STORY BUILDING
I began working pretty heavily on LMS during the first quarter of 2009. I had now a handful of characters, a rough idea of the story, and a general scope of what I wanted the book to be. To get started, I felt every book should have a theme. Movies do, right?
Spider-Man: Great powers, great responsibility.
Batman: Be more than just a man, a symbol, and be remembered a legend.
Star Wars: The myth of a heroes destiny, and the truth that allows him to be set free.
Who was Gabriel? What type of character or archetype was he? What were his rises and

GOD IS AN IMAGINARY SKY DADDY! THE BIBLE IS A BOOK OF FAIRY TALES! RELIGION IS A MENTAL ILLNESS!
RELIGIOUS PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS, ESPECIALLY THOSE BIBLE-THUMPING CHRISTFAGS! THEY’RE NOT AS SMART OR AS RATIONAL AS US ENLIGHTENED ATHEISTS!
WE BELIEVE IN SCIENCE, LOGIC, REASON, AND EVIDENCE. THEY BELIEVE IN SUPERSTITION, DOGMA, DELUSIONS, AND FANTASY!
THEY ARE HOLDING US AND SOCIETY BACK! WE MUST MOCK AND RIDICULE THEM BACK TO THE 12th CENTURY WHERE THEIR OUTDATED BELIEFS BELONG!
TAKE DOWN THAT CROSS! GET RID OF THAT NATIVITY SCENE! ERASE “IN GOD WE TRUST” FROM OUR MONEY! IT OFFENDS US! SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!
CHRISTIANS ARE ALL MOUTH-BREATHING, KNUCKLE-DRAGGING NEANDETHALS. BLACK CHRISTIANS ARE UNCLE TOMS. THEY SUPPORT SLAVERY AND GENOCIDE.

The grand city of Taitle, once bustling with life and thought and steam-powered inventions, stands deserted save for the stray passing inventor salvaging scrap metal from its workings and a stubborn old man http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb2/Sins-of-Angels/Oldmansketch.jpg who has lived on the same plot of land his ancestors have all his life. He didnt mind the old abandoned buildings, the winding Victorian architecture that was crumbling in places, or the almost rhythmic release of steam from street vents. No one knew where the vents went, or why they were there, or even how to properly begin to repair the citys maze of architecture to make it living again, but the vents are there, leading to nowhere, and the city is there, and had, at one point, worked for the people in it. All it works for now, o
BRUSHESI was asked a couple of time what kind of brushes I use…BRUSHES1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Well - basically I have a lot, but just a few that I really use for everything.
So here we go with my so called "main_brush_set".
Those brushes are my all time favorites and used pretty much on a daly base.
A few brushes are from the web and some a selfmade or self tweaked.
Hope you have the same fun as I have using those brushes.
The brushes could be found on my Blog (http://malosart.blogspot.de/)
The Handy Resources JournalThis journal will be a collection of images, articles, and guides that I've found handy for drawing. I hope you find them useful, too.The Handy Resources Journal2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Please note that this journal is a work in progress. I will add to it when I can and edit where needed.
Jeff-H has created a series of excellent guides for human anatomy. I recommend studying them.
The best piece of artistic advice I've been given when proportioning a human figure is this: The thigh area (from hip [not waist] to knee) is approximately the same length as the torso (hip to shoulder). I see so many humans drawn too short or too tall without the torso to match.
See how short the legs are? http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs50/i/2009/327/a/8/Anime_body_tutorial_pg3_by_lene_x.jpg
Still don't believe me? Bring your knee up to your shoulder and try to keep your back as straight as possible. It should reach about to your collarbone.

Your characters for a gigantic project!Edit3: I'm really upset right now. After I posted that I need to take emergency commissions because I need money to keep my cat healthy, so many sent me notes and requests for this free art project. This was supposed to be a thank you, but I don't really feel like thanking right now..Your characters for a gigantic project!1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Edit 2: Also, use the edit function if you forgot something or want to add another character! Keep the comments clean for me!!
Edit: I have decided that I won't add characters without a decent ref/detailed description. I can't do anything with a lineart of your character or "he's a blue cat anthro" or something like that. Also, I'm getting lots of humans, so I'll write it again: NO HUMANS. Doesn't matter if he can lit a fart on fire, looking human is looking human. Look at my commission ToS to read what I draw and don't draw.

Women ArtistsThe other day, I attempted to put together a huge list of some professional and semi-pro women artists over on my tumblr, because it seems like too often women get overlooked when it comes to being honored and recognized. This year, I was incredibly honored to be nominated for a Hugo award in the Best Professional Artist category, but I was a little shocked to find out there hadn’t been another woman nominated in that category since Rowena Morrill in 1986. That’s more than a little ridiculous, considering there are so many women artists out there who are all amazing, who offer unique points of view and design solutions, and who need more visibility and recognition. While putting this list together, I was really excited to find tons of new artists I'd never heard of before.Women Artists9 months ago in Personal More Like This

Attention whoresI swear to god I hate today, I mean the worst part is that some woman came up to me as I walked to my car at the end of my day and tried to 'cutesy' me into getting a car wash by a bunch of kids for god only knows what. I told her I am not interested in getting my car washed I do it myself. She then starts playing the "I'm Single card" seriously she is like 19 over weight and obnoxious I tell her I'm taken and get in my car to leave. She starts ranting at the top of her lungs as i drive off is that she is in fact a lesbian Good for you I'm bisexual and no one gives a FUCK! Just like I don't give a fuck about you being a lesbian. No offense using promises of relationships and possible sex as a method to solicit business for your car wash is disgraceful and belittles women. I mean really this girl started screaming at me about how only women will get in her pants.Attention whores1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Goals...?I've been thinking about this for a while now. What exactly do I want to do with comics? What are some of my goals? What's the future hold for my stuff? Here are just a couple of stream of conscious thoughts:Goals...?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I don't want to be big on YouTube, that's for sure. I've never liked getting in-front of the camera, I don't have the time or ambition to work on animations anymore, and I certainly can't crank out videos as fast as some of the big guys over there. It's a huge competition and I just don't want to have anything to do with that. I think my youtube page is marked private and you have to have specific links to view anything. I might make an odd video here or there, but they're most likely just goofy things I do for fun, not for any sort of attention or recognition.
I'm curious about how I should move forward with DA. I think a majority of my haters are outraged that I'm popular on DA and that I'm content with drawing simple cartoons when I'm obviously talented enough to do more comple

You know, yesterday, after my daily shower, while blowing my hair, I took a pair of scissors and I started cutting my hair without thinking. Yes, it's not like I always think but I had this urgency of changing. And the fact is that I spent the past two years complaining that I wanted/want long hair like Rapunzel... whatever.
I think this is the richest collection of artworks I have ever featured here on dA. It's full of my personal favorite works of 2013 that you may enjoy. Show some love to these amazing artworks and get inspired

Tips to improve our artwork♣ Hard working - constantly practice even when we don't want to draw.Tips to improve our artwork2 years ago in Personal More Like This
♣ Learning from others artists - no matter who is it, from beginner to master, we can always learn something from them.
♣ Learning from audience - carefully consider comments from other people, their opinions are valuable.
♣ Accept our own weak points - though it is so hurtful, look for them - try improving them instead.
♣ Always be a beginner - there are many things beyond than we have ever realized. Let's open our mind and learn new stuff.
♣ Don't waste your time on choosing tools - choose the appropriate materials - what we like the most is the perfect one.
♣ Only taking a break but don't give up - there are numerous obstacles that await for us in this path - confront and fight them!
♣ Basics are the most important part- then we can adapt to anything we want.
♣ Believe in ourselves - self-esteem needs to be added to ingredient in our work.

Preventing Injuries for Artists (and people who work with computers)
Hello there my fellow deviants, time for a new update. It’s a long entry, so go grab a snack and sit tight with a good posture, because there's a lot to learn here - even some anatomy.
I just read about Loish’s injury on her blog, and it’s truly saddening to see a fellow artist struggling with a physical limitation that affects their workflow.
Loish is absolutely right, the body has its limits and we ought to be careful before it’s too late.
Tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, aren’t stranger terms to me, many artists and people who work with computers for many hours, tend to deal with the same conditions, some let it advance to the stage where the only treatment is surgery, which can potentially reduce mobility and destroy an illustrator’s career.
