So here is the final model at least, lovingly rendered in Blender Internal
I had a closeup shot of the hardware on the body, unfortunately a ten-hour Cycles render got abruptly shut down when the power went out this morning. Thankfully I recovered the file, so I'll try to re-render it. This wasn't really the finished project I wanted to upload, but figured it would make a cool wallpaper
Probably a couple more views to come.
Anyway, about the guitar.
Body hasn't changed much over the years, so what year is this body? Most of them.
I went with "witch hat" volume/tone knobs, because I just think they are cool, and Explorers did indeed come with them at various points in it's life. The configuration from top to bottom is volume, volume, tone, but they also have another configuration which is volume, tone, tone, so either is correct
The bridge is the 'Tonepro Tune-O-Matic'
PAF pickups (PAF stands for "patent applied for" I found out in my heavy research of this guitar. Apparently it took a long time to get the patent for these humbucker covers back in the 50's, so they were known as the "PAF" model for quite some time, and it stuck to this day). See, learn something new every day!!

Ebony fretboard, which comes on newer models, I thought the darker look was a bit cooler than the typical Rosewood
That's about it, hope you dig it!
