A New Addition Maira gazed out at the battlefield with a distant visage. Everything in sight was a painful reminder of how bloody the battle earlier that day was. Bodies of all races lay still in the snow, half buried by the blizzard that blew around the endless wasteland. This bleak scene used to be a tiny village at the edge of the forest. It was small, peaceful, and welcoming. It had an inn, a stable, small farms, a blacksmith, and a market. Now it lay in ruins. Those that survived had long fled, except Maira.A New Addition9 months ago in Short Stories More Like This

Theorizing on Mers
All right, this is something new I'm going to try. Whenever I get ideas, I always think about them going several different ways. I'm just beginning to go on another "Sea Life and Sea Monsters" kick, so I'm going to record a couple thoughts that I've had/am going to have about the subject of mers, as I call them, or mermen and mermaids. You guys will hopefully see this and be able to see how my mind works a little (at least in this instance). Let's see what I've conjured up.
• Mers are like frogs, of a sort. When born, they start off with no limbs. As they age, they eventually grow either two arms or two legs. This will happen around the time they are toddlers/children.
o Some mers are born with all limbs.
o Some mers are born with only two limbs.
• Entering "teenage years" they grow whatever limbs they are lacking.
o There is a species of mer where they will only grow arms. They will never have legs. These mers ar

"You are beautiful."
Nellie rolled her eyes and said, "Thanks. Are you done? Can I get up too see it now?"
"sure." The tiny energetic girl bounced up off the couch and ran into the bathroom, Colton following at a slower pace just on her heels.
In front of the mirror Nellie turned her head from side to side trying to get a good look at herself. Colton stood behind her like a giant background. The bathroom was already on the small side but with Colton in the room with her there was very little wiggle room. When he leaned forward to get a better look he ended up leaning into Nellie causing her to be pushed forward.
"Back off!" she turned and pushed at him laughing.
"Sorry! I seriously didn't mean to do that. This room is just way too sma
What Happened To 5x Ch.22 In the days that followed the little "incident", Chrissy constantly worried about Bruce. She hoped that he was safe wherever he was and would come home soon. She frequently peeked through the garage window, expecting to see the hulking form of a sleeping giant. He felt her nod as he set her down in the hollow. He blew a kiss to his friends before continuing to run. However, he didn't get far before several men jumped onto him from some trees. Once upon a time there lived a lovely, well-bred young lady. She was so charming and kindhearted that she was adored by all who knew her, none more so than her dear grandmother. Once, her grandmother wove for her a vibrant red cloak hemmed in gold. The cloak suited her so well that she would never wear anything else, so she came to be known as Little Red Riding Hood.
One day, her mother said, "Come, Little Red Riding Hood, here is a cake and a bottle of fine wine for your grandmother. She is ill and weak, and these will do her good. Set out before it gets too hot, and walk properly as you go; do not stray from the path or you may fall and break the bottle, and then dear grandmother will get nothing. You are nearly a woman now, so you must mind your manners and not poke about grandmother's house before you greet her."
"I will do just as you ask, mother," said Little Red Riding Hood, and she set out for grandmother's house.

She hadn't had a dream in a while. The last one was after her parents had died. It wasn't a nightmare though. It was just a happy dream. It was like they had come back to life. They'd been at home when she came back from school as if nothing had happened. And she acted as she would have that day if her parents hadn't died. She knew she was dreaming about that day because they all wore the same outfits they'd wore that day.
All three of them watched TV together and then Nellie and her dad helped her mom with dinner. They ate baked chicken. It was delicious. After she'd stuffed the last bite into her mouth and swallowed she had looked from left to right at her parents, they smiled at her with all the love in their hearts. Nellie closed her eyes and had tipped back her head to let the last drop of her grape juice drip onto her tongue.

"So where did the Kazekian come from?"
Four's tone was not the quiet, timid voice that Ari was accustomed to hearing from him and was instead spiced with hostility and blame. It made both Ari and Two feel uneasy while they prepared lunch, but Two decided to speak up first.
"He is a new addition to the farm and was recently acquired via the auction house. He has been aptly named 'Seven,' just for future reference and premeditated scorn." Ari was impressed by Two's subtle defense towards Seven's mention, though she sensed something else was going on.
"Does William even realize how bad of an idea that was to buy a Kazekian? How did he get all the way to New Earth from Kazek, anyway?" Four glared out the window of the kitchen at Seven, who sat at the Drudge's table --really just a dilapidated picnic bench--with his back towards the house. He was talking and laughing with Three and seemed to be in a pretty good mood despite all he had been through the past three days. Four growled under his

Seven sat quietly in his cell and watched the Vesuleum rush through the thick tubes of his cybernetic arm. Just beyond the bars in front of him was the blood-soaked sands of the Ring. With each crushing sound of a Drudge's bones and with each cry of agony that echoed through the walls of his cell, the Vesuleum seemed to grow brighter and pump faster.
William had given him no indication of when it would be his turn to fight. All he had to go on was the sounds of victory, defeat, and the slamming of the cell doors around him that signaled a fighter was either being released, or, sent back if they were victorious. Seven lifted his eyes from examining his arm and looked out from the shadows as another Drudge fell. The defeated alien had been young and inexperienced, like a blind puppy thrown into a pit with a frustrated tiger. Seven was not surprised that he had lost.
The victor was escorted back to his cell on the opposite side of the Ring by a Drudge who looked similar to Two, at least i

The Beast stood up and turned to leave, but the Beauty reached out and grabbed his arm. He turned to look at her and she could tell in his eyes, she had pushed too far.
The Beast broke her grasp and pushed her down, then whirled around and flipped the large dining table over.

I came home after a grocery trip, intending to recruit my husband to help unpack them, as I saw his truck parked outside. Must have gotten off work early today. I smiled. I love my big mate. He's possible the most tender and sweet big male I have ever met. Warm midnight eyes, full lips that stretch into a gorgeous smile, gentle, considerate.
I sighed. Then I facepalmed.
I am such a sap at times. I think I belong more in a tragic comedy than real life at times.
I had just walked in through the front door when I heard Chris give a yelp. I dropped the groceries, running for the front closet, where I kept a baseball bat. I stalked into the living room, moving very quietly, intending on catching the intruder unawares.
My mate did not make a sound like that unless he was in trouble. A lot of trouble.
I entered the room, bat raised and ready to start swinging when I nearly dropped it in confusion.
There was nobody in sight.

If she were a painting, he thought, she would be the painting in the back of the gallery, the most beautiful one, but the one people ignored because they were bored of looking at art. There would be a select few, like him, who would take the time to look at her and her beauty always blew them away.
She loved his loud, creative, and carefree demeanor. She loved his elaborate way of thinking and his hazelnut eyes. They were always alight with excitement and enthusiasm for the new dawn. He wouldn't even be a painting, she thought. He would be the painter using strokes on watercolor on canvas.
She could imagine it now as he looked straight at her from across the table. He was talking excitedly about ideas and prospects that could change the way p

Terrifyingly large and bulky. Both female and male sport muscular bodies. They are tall and strong, sporting two pairs of eyes, the regular ones and a smaller pair above it. On their foreheads are horns akin to those of Onis. Elongated "horse like" ears which point horizontally. Their hair is kept long, the hair continuing to grow along the spine much like a mane. On their hands and feet are long, sharp claws. Their mouths are larger than the norm and sport fangs and/or tusks and their bodies are covered in fur, usually in earthy colors. Their genitalia is human in shape, but larger than average and sheathed by protective layers of skin which only part open when mating.
Terribly aggressive, easily angered, proud, cocky. They hold true valor over physical strength instead of mental prowess.

To be back at home, making sure that his family was safe and unharmed by the ruffians that had stormed Chrissy's home. That minute hole in the wall cast a warm beam of sunlight upon his broad left shoulder, bringing a comforting feeling to his mind as well as a reassuring smile on his lips. How to Fatten a DragonOnce upon a time, there was a dragon living in a cave in a forest. He was fairly typical of dragons; he ate when he was hungry, and had no qualms about eating people's livestock, or people, but didn't particularly feel like causing them additional harm. He saw no reason for it. That changed the day the inhabitants of a nearby village took exception to his eating habits. How to Fatten a Dragon1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
Their village was too small for the king to bother sending his soldiers to protect it, and the villagers couldn't afford to hire mercenaries, nor could they spare the men it would take to slay the dragon themselves. So they diverted a nearby river to flood the dragon's cave. When he emerged, waterlogged and considerably angry, they attacked him with pitchforks. Since it would take his fire long enough to come back that the villagers could have caused him serious harm, the dragon chose to flee.
He flew until his wings were tired, and then he ran until his legs were tired, and then he slunk until he found an old abandoned

Born on October 13, 1307, somewhere near the base of the Himalays, A young couple brought a new life to the world. Unfortunately, Satan was awaiting his arrival. Upon birth, Satan sent the boy's parents straight to Hell. The boy then cursed and transformed to a horrible beast. Brown fur grew on every inch of the boy's body, sharp canines grew in the boy's soft gums, and a terrifying howl replaced his voice.
The boy was found a week later, by a group of travelling Priests (not related to Christianity or any other religion). The boy was week, but still alive, and showed no sign of dying of hunger. Not disturbed by the baby's monstrous appearance, the Priests took him with them to their base Abbey in town a few kilometres away. The Head Priest, Father Logan Canem, took in the child as his own, nursed him back to health. By the age of 5, the young boy was given the name Ouranus, meaning 'Father Sky'.
