TCDN Ch. 4: The MorningThe room was warm as a light breeze entered through the open window, tickling Tails' muzzle as he lay in bed. The fox was not asleep as he should have been, however. The night had filled him with so much excitement that it had made sleep impossible. Instead he enjoyed as it passed him by with his lover at his side, her head resting against his chest tuff as her rosebuds brushed against his nose. The fox was in ecstasy; the idea that today was the day he would finally declare to Cosmo had him grinning up at the ceiling from ear to ear. Sure, he was nervous, but right now the thrill of the moment overpowered his fears and urged him out of bed. Slowly he complied as he gently pushed out from under Cosmo, who slid down on her pillow and continued to sleep. The time was five thirty and the sun's first light was just beginning to creep over the dark horizon. Unfortunately, this also meant that Cosmo would be awake soon as she usually rose with the sun. If things were to proceed as he planned
TCDN Ch. 3: More than MaliciousThe midnight hour approached as Jaran Kai made his way home from Tails' lab, having once again acted as council for the adolescent fox. A poorly made up song of joy he sang as he danced down the darkened streets, allowing his glee to take hold of him again. Tails and Cosmo, the children he had been charged with protecting ever since he had arrived on Mobius, were to finally be joined in glorious matrimony. In addition, Tails had asked him to aid in the preparations for the next day. The thought sent shivers up his spine as he approached his hidden beachside bungalow, holding a hand out and disengaging the door's telekinetically triggered locking mechanism.TCDN Ch. 3: More than Malicious2 years ago in Horror More Like This
As he prepared to enter he suddenly stopped, turing one-hundred-eighty degrees to face some nearby palm bushes which lined his walkway. Narrowing his eyes he reached for his belt, snarling as he recalled that he no longer possessed his signature weapon. He proceeded to pull his hands up in a defensive position waiting for something t
TCDN Ch. 5: The AfternoonThe morning came and went peacefully for the young couple of Tails and Cosmo, who had spent the majority of it gliding through the cool waters of the spring which Tails had discovered on one of his ventures. After tiring of swimming the two climbed onto the soft bank beneath the draping branches of the weeping willow, cuddling each other close as they began to grow drowsy. Turning his head he gazed at his sleepy-eyed flower, casting a loving smile at her as she lie comfortably upon his chest tuff. Raising a hand he gently brushed aside her leafy bangs, causing her to look back at him with an equally affectionate smile. "No…" Cosmo cooed, "I want to lay here with you all day."
Tails laughed quietly at this notion. Naturally he would like nothing more than to continue lying here with Cosmo, holding her close to his body and feeling the touch of her smooth skin; enjoying the intoxicating scent of her roses. If any progress
TCDN Ch. 2: A Union in the MakingIt was late at night and Cosmo had long since retired to bed, leaving Tails alone in his workshop once again as he attempted to continue drafting plans for his incomplete plane, the X Tornado Mark Two. Finding himself incapable due to the burden on his mind he once again retrieved the black, velveteen box from within his desk and opened it, gazing at the tiny diamond ring held inside. The kitsune let out a forlorn sigh as he fingered the sparkling gemstone, reflecting back on the decision he had come to at the party, now feeling much less certain about it than before. Be it his lack of self confidence or his youth, he began to worry about what Cosmo's response would be to a proposal at this age. Shouted all who were gathered in the room as a small, two-tailed kitsune stepped into his dimly lit home, briefly disoriented by the light from the overhead lamp being suddenly thrown in his face. When his vision cleared he looked up to see his plethora of friends scattered around his living room, each with huge smiles on their faces as they heralded another year of age for the genius fox boy. Present was his best friend, Sonic the Hedgehog, wearing a striped party hat as though it were a crown as he jumped from one foot to the other excitedly. Then there was Amy, standing closely next to Sonic bearing a colorfully wrapped gift in hand which was neatly tied with a bow of sparkly ribbon. There was Vanilla, accompanied by her daughter Cream and her pet Chao Cheese, all standing near the coffee table by a cake which was almost certainly made by eldest rabbit. "Stupid alarm!" Tails barked slamming his hand down on his wrist computer, killing the irritating siren, "I hate that thing! It's the worst wakeup call ever!"
"Well, it did get us up…" Cosmo yawned rubbing her eyes as she looked around the room, "What time is it?"
"Five o'clock." Tails answered, gingerly climbing out of bed and reaching for his gloves, "We need to get ready if we're going to make that reservation."
"That what?" Cosmo asked now alert, "Reservations? Where are you taking us, Tails?"

TCDN Ch. 8: She Says...From behind glassy eyes, the Seedrian beauty smiled more brightly and passionately than Tails had ever witnessed of her before. Her entire body shook with excitement as she slowly lowered her quaking hands from in front of her face, finding herself unable to speak as her raging emotions overwhelmed her. Remaining on one knee, Tails waited anxiously. Time seemed to slow to a crawl, each second becoming an infinity unto itself. Staring into the bottomless depths of each other's sea-blue eyes, the two lover's minds began to intertwine, mingling in a manner more deeply and intimately than either had experienced before. For a moment, the two became lost to their special connection, their individual minds becoming indistinguishable as they briefly merged into a single consciousness; a single entity existing in perfect love.TCDN Ch. 8: She Says...1 year ago in Romance More Like This

Coming to a halt, the artificial construct sifted through its memory banks, much of which were incomplete and had become fragmented. Frantically scanning the room, he quickly ducked into one of the private stalls, shutting the door and bolting it behind him. With quivering hands, Tails sat on the latrine behind him, shutting his eyes and leaning his head against the back wall. Beads of sweat laced his brow as his body shook timorously. For some time he sat alone sobbing, as the shame of his actions weighed itself on his mind. He had been so ready, or so he though. Having loved and defended Cosmo so passionately since her return, he wanted nothing more than to solidify their commitment in matrimony. Sonic X: Eternal Angel - Prologue: The EndIt was quiet within the corridors of the Blue Typhoon. The only sound that could be heard was the engines, humming faintly as they pushed the titanic craft through space. It was not a natural silence, however. The halls that had once echoed with laughter and the warmth of friendship now felt cold and empty. Upon the bridge stood a group of close companions, all staring out of the main viewport with the same look of dysphoria frozen upon their faces. Cream clung tightly to Amy's waist as she wept softly. Amy turned to Sonic with a look of desperation in her eyes, her tears mingling with the makeup on her face as they ran down her cheeks. Tails awoke the next morning feeling surprisingly refreshed. Everything seemed clearer after a good night's sleep that they had the previous day. Although the words of Shadow still echoed in his mind, they had more of a calming effect on him today. Even though he was still angry at Shadow for what he had tried to do back on the Typhoon, he took some measure of comfort in the fact that he had a kindred spirit who could sympathize with him on his situation. The idea that he might yet be able to recover from his loss and be happy again gave him a small bit of hope in what otherwise seemed like a hopeless situation.
As Tails rolled out of bed he decided that he would seek Shadow out today. He hoped that talking with Shadow would help resolve some of the feelings he was still having in his own mind. The sun had risen over the horizon and began casting its warm rays over the landscape. A cloudless blue sky stretched out overhead as a light breeze blew across the coastline. Small waves gathered in the distant water, creating a serene purr as they broke against the shoreline. Overhead danced a flock of seagulls singing their happy tune as they took in the new morning. The day had begun in a way that could only be described as perfect.
Two lone figures sat closely together in the soft sand as they too enjoyed the beautiful morning. A honey colored fox stared out over the horizon as he supported an emerald haired girl upon his shoulder, who leaned into him with a contented sigh. They sat in silence, enjoying each other's closeness as they stared at the beautiful scenery. The fox looked over at the green haired girl with admiration in his eyes and smiled happily. It had been a week since Tails had left the hospital and the cold of winter had finally befallen Mobius. Dreary grey clouds had begun to creep across the sky as a light snowfall began to dust the landscape. Common wintertime blues began to set in with some Mobians at the coming of the uncomfortable weather and the dreary scenery.
Yet somehow, Tails felt at peace. After all that had happened in the past three weeks he had finally reached a point where his depression no longer controlled him. Although he still felt sadness at loosing Cosmo, he took comfort in her request to live and be happy. Even if he could not do it for himself, he would still do it for her. This, along with the comfort of his friends, gave him something to live for.
At this time when most Mobians were inside trying to keep warm, Tails was outside constructing the vivarium that he had planed on building. He had started only a day after he had returned from the hospital and was nearly finished. Due to the cold weather

It was late at night. After the unusual encounter with the cloaked figure, the doctors had decided to forbid visitors until they could determine that Tails was in a stable condition. Sonic, Amy, Shadow, and Vanilla sat in the waiting room anxiously awaiting word on Tails' wellness while also pondering the actions of the cloaked figure. Up until this point they had considered the unknown figure to be a threat to be dealt with, but now were beginning to have second thoughts. Through some unknown means the figure had managed to revive Tails' dying body and save his life. These actions came into contradiction with his previous ones of stealing the Chaos Emeralds and harassing the Freedom Fighters, raising only more questions about his intentions. These thoughts haunted Team Sonic as all they could do was sit, think, and wait.
Immediately after leaving the emergency room, Vanilla had called Knuckles to inform him of Tails' revival. Knuckles wasted no time in rushing over to the hospital and

Tails saw white all around him. An endless void stretched out in all directions as he looked about, feeling rather disoriented. Somehow this place seemed very familiar to him. He had seen it before in his dreams, but never before had it felt so real. Each time he had seen it before he had felt fear. This time however, he felt nothing but peace. The endless white had a calming effect on him and the temperature was at a comfortable level as a mild breeze blew, coming from an undetermined direction. Somehow, he felt total relief of both mind and body as he treaded the invisible ground beneath his feet. In his mind he could not think of a more perfect place than this, wherever this might be. The only thing that would make this place more perfect was if Cosmo were here.

When they finally reached Tails' house, Cosmo could not help but be impressed by Tails' humble abode. His house was a small A-Frame style building, which was perched on the edge of a hill consisting of two stories and what looked like a basement area toward the back. There was also a shed like structure off to the side of his house, which Cosmo assumed was his workshop. What impressed her more was the fact that Tails lived in and maintained his house on his own with no parents or guardians to look after him. She wondered if this ever made him feel lonely. She also began to wonder where his parents were and why they had left their son to take care of himself. Cosmo could not help but pity Tails as they walked toward his front door.
As they approached his front door, Tails reached over to the side of his doorframe and began typing on a keypad built into the wall. Cosmo watched in curiosity as Tails did this, wondering what possible function the keypad could hold. She received her answer
