Beneath the SewersShe was the new RED Medic. She was also the shortest medic the team had ever seen, standing at only 5"6. It was a big difference from all the past Medics that had stood at over six feet. She was also the first Medic that was from America and not Germany. She more than made up for her small size with her big brain and big heart. She was very knowledgeable and soaked up information about her team like a sponge. She also had an impeccable bedside manner, knowing when to be stern and when to be caring.Beneath the Sewers2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Medic had been with the REDs for only three months, but she had already claimed her place amongst them and no one questioned her. Of course convincing Soldier that she was competent even though she was a woman had been hard, but after dragging him back to the base when his legs had been broken from an ill-attempted rocket jump and healing him without a single word of complaint Soldier had started to lay off her. Medic took that as a sign of grudging acceptance.

Taking over the bridge of the Enterprise, Spock commanded for communications with New Vulcan. On screen, his elder and alternate counterpart Ambassador Spock was shown. It has been a while since anyone on board, including yourself, had last seen him during the incident with the Romulan, Nero.
They exchanged their greetings before continuing on.
“In your travels, did you ever encountered a man named ‘Kahn’?” the temporary Captain Spock asked bluntly.
The Ambassador took a deep silent sigh before speaking, “As you know, I have made a vow never to give you information that could potentially alter your destiny. Your path is yours to walk, and yours alone.” You cou

"No! Don't come in or you'll die!"
You halted at the round, green door when a croaky voice called from inside the cute house. This was not the welcome you had expected from your hobbit 'friend' after a long trip. Your narrowed your eyes as you leaned against the door, ear to the hard wood. "What?"
Bilbo was always a bit spectacle, to a certain extent, but what could be in his little hobbit hole that a trained, experienced adventurer couldn't handle? You had already gone through so much with him, including fighting a dragon, so what could get Bilbo so riled up? Then again...He was still a hobbit... It almost worried you, until Bilbo called out again. "I'm very sick. I don't want to catch it-ACHOO!"
You rolled your eyes and opened the door anyway, lowering your head so you don't bump it in the doorway. Once inside, you notice right away Bilbo wasn't in his usually spot: in his chair by the fireplace with a book, and by this hour maybe second breakfast. But no, you were greeted by an empt
My Spiritual JourneyMy Spiritual Journey3 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
I don't know what your spiritual beliefs are, but I know that human beings are, at our core, spiritual beings. We have physical bodies that are beautifully connected to our souls, but in the end, an eternal soul is what we are. Therefore, the more we reach out to purify and perfect our soul, the closer to our true being we are, and our true beings are made to be beautiful. I've been sick for a very long time, and I've learned very well over the years that physical pain -- bodily pain -- is distinctly different from emotional and spiritual pain. Although, since our bodies are just as much part of us as our souls, physical damage can have an effect on our souls. But, here's the good thing I discovered. We are able to strengthen our souls to such a powerful point that physical damage (including psychological problems) no longer affects us.
Now, being human we're obviously all extremely imperfect.

The Saints as Intercessors?I wrote this when considering the critique Catholics often receive when we say that we "pray to the saints." What I want to do below is briefly is to distinguish between prayers of intercession (which can be addressed to saints and God alike) and adoration, worship, and repentance which are due to God alone. More so, I wish to confront the notion that we should pray to God alone for all things such that intercession to the saints is superfluous and unneeded. The Saints as Intercessors?3 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
First of all, veneration of the saints is a Christian tradition and a tradition that stems back to the very beginning. The many catacombs of Rome and Italy attest to the respect given to holy men and women who died for Christ and who, as we say, died with Christ. But this sort of veneration shouldn't be confused with worshiping human beings as if they were God. Rather the saints were an example of the glory that was won through a love of God and fidelity to Him. This is why the great hagiographies about St. Anthony of th

Dying had been easier than he ever could have imagined.
Not that he had wanted to die. It wasn't something he'd had a choice in. He had died, however, defending his Autobots, and that was what mattered.
Here, however, was not where he wanted to be. He had expected to become one with the Matrix... to rejoin those before him, hidden away to history and all, communing with the current holder of the ancient artifact in order to try to teach him how to lead an army that, until then, would have seen him as just another soldier.
No, here... was different. He was staring in silence at the back of a femme who seemed so quiet... so distant. "Excuse me," he murmured, watching her. "Where am I?"
"You are everywhere."
That didn't answer his question. The former Prime sighed, shaking his head. "No... I... that's not possible. Isn't this the Matrix?"
