For friends near and far.
The ones who see me through,
No matter what I do.
My friends are wise and true,
Yet the best of them is you.
You helped me to stand,
On my feet always land.
Give me strength to fight,
Even though outcome didn't seem right.
You opened my eyes to see,
The better side of me.
I cherish every moment with you,
You have proven to be true.
You will be close to my heart until the end,

Clear as crystal
The light was dark
And the dark was light
The stars shone during day
And the sun danced naked at night
We laughed, we danced
And we sang and we wished
Running through the fields
Drunk with the nonexistent freedom
Running from reality
Surrounded by strangers
Strangers who were our best friends

Ye doers of good
You have an opponent
Maybe one day you will
Begin to understand
The way of the land!
The goal in life is personal gain
You should never
Lend anyone a helping hand!
Unless, of course, something’s
In it for you.
Riches and power will
Most certainly do.
Don’t be afraid, it’s here for you!
The nasty word ‘no’ is
A shorter form of ‘yes’
When you’re trying to go
And reach for your newest goals
Should someone step in your way
You knife him!
It’s easy as can be
Just shove the body into a ravine.
Watch out for those
The ones who preach goodness and light
They’re trying to trick you
Stick with this way, it’s better!
You don’t even have to
Put up a fight!
Black is the new light.
See all those loony heroes at large?
Aren’t they just totally dumb
Wizen up some
You’re not nearly as numb
Shadow Sage, Chapter 1: Lady FlowerThe beautiful blossom was called a Lady Flower, after the bug. It was more crimson than blood, with black polka dots scattering its petals and was held by a stem as green as the forest after sunset, yet before night. The bloom was Miranda’s favorite, even from her youngest age, even though she was a human dubbed “Ivory and Ebony.” Her skin was pale regardless of how long she spent in the sun, and she never burned either. Yet her hair and eyes were dark as the space between the stars. She liked to dress in black, despite how confounded it left her parents, and was shy as a bunny.Shadow Sage, Chapter 1: Lady Flower4 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Her one childhood friend, Collin, was always sure to bring the lovely, quiet farm girl of the village a scarlet, speckled bloom whenever they were in season. They grew in fallow fields, so when the tiny farming village was allowing the earth to heal, the blooms would creep up and help to rejuvenate the field.
Miranda’s smile, as a little girl, was as bright as any little girl’s.

Miranda was on the outskirts of a giants’ village. She was in a fallow field, surrounded by polka dot flowers staring at the sky.
“The sun is so bright…” Miranda thought to herself. She didn’t mind the bright sun, really. The shadows of the Lady Flowers and blades of grass were stronger, starker when a bright light casted them, but Miranda couldn’t hear any loud shadows. Well, at least, any shadows loud enough to get through her amateur mental block. She sighed lightly, more an exhale than a sigh, and rolled onto her side. For once, her emotions weren’t severely agitated, and she felt calm. A lack of incessant whispering in her head helped a great deal, too.
Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrooooooooooooooonggggg the shadows around her suddenly started scream-whispering. Miranda stood up. These were quiet shadows, shadows that weren’t out to kill things, so why w

Breaking the Fear
The Tallus Pool; a shallow pool that I appear in from coming back from the afterlife that allows me to go into the mortal world. I’ve been returning to the world of the living for three hundred years now, but of all times, why did the system fail me now?
That day I was planning on meeting someone, a sort of reincarnation, if you will. 5,503 years ago I was given the title of The Keeper of the Dragons, and that title has been passed down since. So Kee, this generation’s Keeper, was planning to take me to the planetarium in Chicago. I have never been there before so I was quite excited to go, but I still don’t understand how this happened.
I did not reappear in the Tallus Pool like I always do. Instead, when I opened my eyes into the mortal world I was standing in a muddy puddle in the middle of a grimy city alley way.

Sometime in some place
Inside the small world
The thing that mixed their hopeless worlds was
a paper note.
i occasionally slipped out of the hospital
to see you at my dads work place
it meant a whole lot to me.
When i would read the letter you wrote
it would warm the cockles of my heart.
They made blush, and i thought this is what love is.
But father had said ,
I mustn't ever see you?
I didn't understand at all why?
But your existence was very meaningful
for me to have a reason to live.
In this dark room where the sun had hardly came
I was able to see my future brightening
Theres a number of the tubes increasing on me
its getting harder to hear day by day
I'm not able to walk just like i used to
If i was not able to get out of here alive
i would want to see you one last time
Since i do not want you to start worrying over me
I started to run away
needing to say goodbye to you
In the last paper note with my love
I don't want you to see me cry my tears.
"I shall be waiting here
Black Gold - Chapter 1.1My hand was cramping. I had never been one for captains' logs. Lately, I'd been feeling something... something off. Something, like I needed to record our travels. Something, like I wouldn't be around to give any report. Rubbing my tired hand, I leaned back from the desk which I'd covered in parchment. The elegant scrawl was misleading. Years of piracy were hidden in those pretty words. It was almost as if I'd embodied myself on those pages. It would be a misnomer to say it hadn't been easy, being the only woman on The Siren Queen. In all honesty, it was all too easy. The hard part was staying on the ship. Every third day heard whispers of a coup. Every third day, I lost a crewman.Black Gold - Chapter 1.11 week ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
“Captain!” The door to my quarters flew open, flooding the room with light from up above. I looked up at the man, my brown – almost amber – eyes squinting from the darkness. “Sam's spotted her. The Blue Mother. We've caught up to her.” Klein's eyes were the picture of amaz
Black Gold - Chapter 2.2All around me, men started shouting. A raid was one thing. We might kill a member or two of their crew. We'll take their cargo and ration it amongst ourselves. But a fight? An honest to God fight was hard to come by. The deck of The Siren Queen had seen its fair share of duels – but those were one on one bouts for honor or to settle a disagreement. Most times, we'd unleash a round from our cannons or simply board, and the ship's captain would declare a surrender. These were merchants – tradesmen – not warriors.Black Gold - Chapter 2.23 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
Those mercenaries were warriors.
Fist over fist, I climbed my way up that rope, and the moment my boots hit the deck of The Blue Mother I was in the thick of battle. Every way I turned, there were blades and blood and the scent of gun powder. My eyes went straight for the man in black. He was larger close up. Looked far more dangerous as well. My sword was in my hand as I dodged and weaved my way through the fray toward him.
“I 'ave to say, I've never bea
Black Gold - Chapter 1.2I could hear the crew from my cabin as they prepared to take the merchant ship. Dozens of boots stomped overhead. Guns were being loaded. Knives and swords sharpened. I strapped a rapier to my hip. Most thought it was an impractical tool for close combat. Perhaps it was. But I found it pretty and dangerous and French. It was my blade. Everything I liked to fancy myself. It was a blade that took careful precision and grace to master. Flick your wrist the wrong way and you may harm yourself just as easily as slitting the throat of your opponent. A pistol on my hip and a knife in my boot, and I was dressed for battle.Black Gold - Chapter 1.21 week ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
An all too familiar clicking sounded through my cabin as my first made descended into my quarters. Kurt was younger than myself by a good number of years. He had features that held a youthful eagerness. His eyes always seemed to be elsewhere when I spoke to him. I found it hard to trust any man who wouldn't – or couldn't – look me in the eye when I spoke to him,
Commission: Play-by-PrankThat morning moved by as if it had been a blur. No, it was the whole week. Ever since Alexis had won that contest, she felt as if she were living in some sort of dream. She had loved to watch baseball since she was a little girl, sitting on her father’s knee watching the games on his old black and white television. And while she was no stranger to the diamond – Alexis attended nearly every home game of her favorite team – she had never watched a game from the team dugout. She was escorted into the team locker room and told to get dressed. If she was going to watch the game from the dugout, then she better look the part.Commission: Play-by-Prank8 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
Alexis smiled to each of the players as she walked by them. A couple smiled back at her, or even waved. Most of the players, however, ignored the newcomer. This was their time for preparation before the big game. It did not really matter what any of the players did lately, though. No manner of preparation could save the team from the pitiful losing str
Black Gold - Chapter 1.3I trusted Kurt to rally the crew, but I didn't trust him for much more than that. So I made my way up the rickety steps that lead from my cabin onto the deck of The Siren Queen. The crew was in full swing; loading pistols and cannons, readying their crossbows, and leering over at the merchant ship.Black Gold - Chapter 1.31 week ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
There was a single member of my crew who spoke with such familiarity. And only a single crew member who could survive doing so. I turned to face Martin. If I stopped to consider it, he was easily the eldest member of my crew. He probably had traveled with me the longest as well. His features were marred with old battle scars, his flesh dark and hard from sun and wind exposure. Martin's hair was almost pure white and tied back at the nape of his neck – it might have been his hair that mine mirrored. Martin didn't seem old, though. Experienced, yes. Wise, definitely. But not old. Martin was the cook of The Siren Queen. Quite possibly, he was the most powerful member of

It's been three years... Few captains could boast keeping a crew happy for so long. And no woman could say she had a crew half as loyal as mine. I was surprised that they didn't mutiny earlier. It was the autumn of 1684. We'd had a good run that year. We were fed – our chests and stomachs and booty full of everything we could ask for. Then the raids stopped. It wasn't that there were no ships to take. It wasn't that we had no crew. The spoils just seemed to be less and less each week. Before I knew what was happening, my men were aching for food more than they were spoiling for a fight. We'd gone two months without a proper haul before I had heard about The Blue Mother. I was promised “black gold.” I'd never seen black gold, myself, but I was quite the fan of the traditional sort. It sounded valuable. Valuable enough to feed me and mine – and keep them off my back for a time. So we set out, speeding south from a French por

Human Bunny: Life as an Adventure

It’s been days since my last entry, but I have just awoken to the blaring noise of my alarm clock right at my ear; which makes me wonder what happened to me these last few days.
I had never thought that writing in a journal would ever make me feel better, but I think that this journal has been the only thing keeping me sane at the moment. It reminds me so much of Simone that I have managed to fight back.
Fight back from what you may ask? From the Dracula band.
I don’t remember much, but what I do. I wish I didn’t remember. But the Dracula band is on my finger. I cannot comprehend how a small band that seemed many sizes to small could fit my finger as if it were made for me.
I’ve taken it off to find that the symbols on it that I have been studying for all this time have changed into something else. I don’t know what to make of it, but I will try to get more information of the band. As w

And it destroys me too
Mom struggles to pay bills
You struggle to catch a thrill
Why is it so hard to to move on?
You lost a mother
but I lost a father
Karma and cocaine
Drinking beer all day
This is your life
Can't you see the way I suffer?
I may be a strong motherfucker
but I just want you back
I want the father who I saw a hero
I want the father who tried to raise me
I'm just trying to save you from drowning
I'm sorry your life is so suffocating
but try to understand
I should have never learned what you showed me
You showed me how to forget
Just put this in your body
and you wont feel a thing
But thats just it
I never feel a thing
I've become so numb and bitter
Teach me something else Dad
Teach me how to pull the trigger
how to hold it to my head and forget
Just put this in your body
And now you're almost dead
And at your grave I shall invite your Closest friends
