Respect Animals - FeatureThis is a Feature, that really means a lot to me. It is dedicated to all the animals that have toRespect Animals - Feature2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
live in shelter, on the street or in abusive homes. All the photos in this Feature make me feel
sad. Animals do deserve a loving home. They give you so much and they do deserve the same
in return. Humans are animals too. If you treat them bad you will be punished, but hurting and
abandoning animals is okay?
And everybody please don't go to expensive breeders before you went to your local animal shelter.
There are so many lovely animals that are waiting for you. Is it really that important that a dog or a cat is purebred?
The character is what matters.
If I could see beyond the here and now
If you could hear me calling you somehow
If I could know that love is reaching out
To find you with me tonight
Then hope could make these promises come true
Beyond what I could say, what love can do
With every moment leading me to you tonight
I will stay forever here to wait for your love
Comic Creation Tips 2Part 2 of Comic Creation tips:Comic Creation Tips 24 years ago in Art Features More Like This
DISCLAIMER: These are just my -personal- rules I like to abide by, and not all comics or stories will fall under these. They can be important guidelines, but it doesnt mean they are set in stone.
1. Develop a solid Inner and Outer Journey.
To make an interesting story, you first need a purpose, and that purpose is two-fold. The outer journey is the course the plot takes outside of the characters. A bus chase, a trip to the center of the earth, taking a rocket ship to a distant planet - these are all outer journeys.
The inner journey is the course the character will take inside of himself. Finally opening up to others to receive love, a change of heart that turns a miser into a philanthropist, gaining courage to stand up for ones-self - these are inner journeys. They change how the character views the world.
A good story needs both. I took the advice t

Getting Back to InspirationOvercoming that mental block or that lack of inspiration can be extremely hard! I would like this to be the beginning of something to help all types of artists and hobbyists to overcome that barrier and continue to do what it is that calls you.Getting Back to Inspiration2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Your art work is a form of self-expression. Every piece that you create is unique to you, I ask that you appreciate even what you think may be the worst piece ever as that (a unique piece of you).
1.) As a rule of thumb—never throw out anything that you create, no matter how bad you think it is. In some way, you have learned from it, you can look back at it later and it may serve as inspiration to recreate it with all that you have recently learned and it may be your next masterpiece. In the very least, you may look at it later on and that piece that you created and thought was so horrible will show you just how far you have really come.
2. ) Keep a folder on your computer of work that has always served to inspire you. If this work has

May 2013 - 31 day PAINTING challenge!UPDATE:May 2013 - 31 day PAINTING challenge!2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
This challenge was certainly a great experience for me. I made some mistakes that cost me a lot of time, for example sometimes I spent 5 hours on a piece that turned out wrong and instead of moving on I took a new paper and tried to make new work within the remaining hour or so. During second week, I've decided to keep the scrap works a part of my challenge, even though I won't publish them they still appear as a thumb on my challenge table. It's simply not possible for me to do 7 good pieces sometimes. Also, posting every day took way too much time to keep up, so I've decided I will be publishing remaining artworks through June continuously.
What I learned during this project of mine? It gave me a better idea about how much time I spend on one piece and what amount of time I waste on post-production. I had to make a few arrangement that hopefully make me more effective today. But mostly, I've tried new subjects that I totally LOVE, mostly architecture and flow
Collection: HandsCollection: Hands3 months ago in Art Features More Like This
A subject’s hands are the make–up artist’s nightmare. But a subject’s hands are the artist’s delight. All the lines, scars or arthritic bumps are a road map of our lives. The smooth or rough of the skin indicates a life of labor or leisure (or, at least, cerebral tasks). The gesticulations of the hands, captured by the alert and sensitive artist, can often articulate so much more than mere words.
“Now join your hands, and with your hands your hearts.”

NEDAwareness weekNEDAwareness week2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Before you read, know that this is mostly my thoughts and theories mixed with a few facts, so I might be totally wrong about everything. And this is mainly about EDs like Anorexia and Bulimia. Sorry. And I'm sorry it turned out this long, I just decided to use the same text as I used on my blog about half a year ago. I was also thinking about featuring some conceptual art about the subject, but I figured that those will probably be triggering for people with EDs, so then again... Better not. If you read it all, or just parts of it, please let me know by commenting, or at least by giving it a fave...
First day of NEDAwareness week. National Eating Disorder Awareness. There are several kinds of eating disorders, also a kind very few know about, as it's not one of the "classical": EDNOS=Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. This means that your thoughts about food and body is disordered, but it doesn't fit the descrip
Speed Drawing Tutorial, how to Film/Edit/UploadSome tips and tricks how to make a speed drawing video.Speed Drawing Tutorial, how to Film/Edit/Upload3 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you have additional tips or if you find mistakes in this guide please let me know, thank you.
(please excuse my bad english.)
1. Drawing and Filming:
Drawing and Lightsource:
Set up the place where you draw comfortable, the light should come from top(preferred) or left side of the drawing if you are right-handed. That way the area you are drawing on is not covered by the shadow of your hand. The arm of the drawing hand should show in the direction of the lightsource to make a shadow only under your arm. Shadows can cause huge brightness flickering in the time lapse.
I fix the single sheet of paper or canvas of my drawing on the table or easel or wherever to prevent the drawing from jumping around in the time lapse video. Try to make the video smooth.
Daylight as the only lightsource can cause flickering in the timelapse video.

Thursday 1st of March, to Saturday 31st of March, 2012
With the continuing campaigns for Internet-censoring litigation such as SOPA and PIPA, and the closure of sites such as Megaupload under allegations of ‘piracy’ and ‘conspiracy’ the time has come to take a stand against music, film and media companies’ lobbyists.
The only way is to hit them where it truly hurts.
Their profit margins.
March 2012 is the end of the 1st quarter in economic reports worldwide.
Do not buy a single record. Do not download a single song, legally or illegally. Do not go to see a single film in cinemas, or download a copy, Do not buy a DVD in the stores. Do not buy a videogame. Do not buy a single book or magazine.
Wait the 4 weeks to buy them in April:
see the film later, etc. Holding out for just 4 weeks, maximum, will leave a gaping hole in media and entertainment companies’ profits for the 1st quarter, an economic hit which will in turn b
