:Forbidden- AJxCain [Part 1]:
AJ and Cain [Part 1]
An idiot! That's all he is.
AJ grimaced to himself, pulling his hood over his head to keep the icy wind from stinging his pale skin and checked his phone.
He didn't even apologize! What the hell is wrong with him? Kissing me and then saying he didn't mean it. That makes absolutely no sense!
The blue-haired teen walked along the sidewalk, turning and ducking into the music store Gage always went to, to escape the crisp air. His eyes perused the room, it consisting of many rows and tables of soundtracks, DVD's, and even some vinyl records. The walls were heavily adorned in posters of famous rock bands like Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, Seether, etc… and AJ loved it. A store never spoke to him like this one did. He wandered to the back of the room, examining the CDs in awe before a voice spoke to him, making him jump.
"Let me know if you need help finding anything," It said, carelessly, the voice low and gruff. Familiar.

"What's going on?" AJ asked, an eyebrow rising in confusion. "Why are we going to Cain's? I thought you and Talen"
"I want to get him back," I interrupted, putting my hands to my temples and rubbing slowly. "I realized how much he meant to me when I left him."
"What were you doing for the past two weeks that kept you from calling or texting me? You could have at least told me you were okay!"
"Nothing," I laughed dryly and stared at my hands. "Literally."
"You don't know how worried I was. I'm serious."
I glanced over at AJ, his blue hair was disheveled and dark bags were under his eyes, making him look older than he really was by a few years. He looked like he hadn't slept in days.
"Why would you worry?"
"Because you're my best friend. I care about you, man."
I turned my head away, my eyes lowering and my cheeks turning a light shade of pink.
"W- Well," I stuttered. "You shouldn't."
"Yes. I definitely should," He laughed a bit, raising a

I hesitated a moment before turning and running back into the house. AJ was already trying to push his way between the quarreling brothers.
"Cain!" The blue-haired teen screamed, his fist tightening around the man's shirt. "You need to calm down!"
Cain ignored AJ, pushing him aside to swing his fist toward Talen's face. Cain's sibling dodged it and retaliated with a right hook of his own but instead of his brother, Talen's knuckles struck AJ's face, the dark-eyed boy staggering backwards and lifting his hands to his eye. He whimpered for a moment before shaking off the pain and re-centering himself between the two, turning towards Cain.
"Cain, please stop!"
His hands wrapped around the man's waist as he burrowed his already bruised face into his slightly blood-stained shirt. Cain stilled, staring down at AJ, his eyes widening. Talen stumbled backwards, a wall catching him before he could lose his footing altogether as he lifted his arm, wipin

I didn't want to be here anymore. I just felt like I should shrivel up and die; cease to exist. What was wrong with me? I hadn't left my room for days. Even my parents were beginning to worry, which meant that this was a pretty serious problem.
When was this torment going to end? I stared at my phone and just laid there, wrapped in my blanket, watching my blank screen that occasionally lit up and vibrated because of a concerned AJ. Every time AJ texted me though, it got my hopes up thinking it might be him. But I knew it was no use. He wasn't going to text me or call me. He didn't want me in his life anymore. I didn't blame him.
I licked my lips, the skin feeling cracked and chapped. My mother would always come in, offer me food but I wouldn't respond. I couldn't. My father would try to talk to me, even sit on the edge of the bed, rubbing my back as if he was a good father. I wouldn't answer.
If I wasn't staring at my phone, I would jus

"I'm going on my jog!"
I zipped up my sweatshirt, as I thumped down the stairs, coming face to face with my mom at the last step. Her arms were crossed and her eyes were fixed on me with a stern glare.
"You're not going to meet up with that emo kid again are you?"
I exhaled with aggravation as I recalled the occurrence that happened a few nights ago. I had lied to my mom about who I went out with and got home late, causing my parent's suspicions to rise and their trust to diminish like leaves in the wind. It was difficult now to even take a step onto the front porch without them sticking their noses into my business. It was more annoying than anything.
"You know I go for a jog every Sunday morning," I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Nothing about that has changed. I jog to the city, visit the music store, and jog home."
She stood there for a minute, her hand to her chin, as if contemplating on whether she should let me go or not.

Even though I was frozen in place on the seat of the Ferris wheel, my mouth curved into a warm grin.
"You like me?" My voice quivered and I licked my lips, hoping to get a taste of Talen's Chap Stick from them.
"Yeah," Talen chuckled a bit, rubbing the back of his head. "I thought I was straight before I met you."
My eyes widened and I straightened up a bit.
"Seriously? I... I turned you?!"
Talen laughed and wrapped his arm around me as the Ferris wheel came to a stop part way to the ground.
"Well, when I first met you, you were just so cute, what with the red cheeks and the way you were so terrible at making stuff up."
My face flushed in embarrassment at the memory.
"And the more we hung out, the more I couldn't stand to be away from you. You were the only person who could make me smile and laugh like that, besides my brother. And I fell for you. Pretty hard, actually. So... what I'm trying to say behind all this corny shit. Will you go out w

"Yes!" AJ turned to me, smiling brightly. "It'll be a blast!"
"Well " I rubbed my hands on my legs nervously beneath the table, looking away. "I don't know if I'll be able to get through my parents."
My blue-haired friend raised an eyebrow at me and crossed his arms.
"It never stopped you before."
"I- I know but "
"I know what it is."
I suddenly became rigid all over.
"Y- You do?'
"Yep," AJ leaned forward, smiling slyly. "You're already going with someone, aren't you?"
My face burned red and I closed my eyes, exhaling slowly.
"HA!" AJ jumped up, pointing to me. "I KNEW IT!"
The people around us in the cafeteria turned to stare at AJ and I jumped up, dragging him out into the halls of the school.
"Shut up," I hissed, smacking him in the head.
"Is it that Talen guy?" He asked, apparently unfazed by my attempt at inflicting pain upon him.
"Y- Yeah," I whispered, looking down as my face heated up with embarras

"So where are we going?"
AJ gave me an odd look as we left the club and I shrugged, looking around for Talen. It had taken me twenty minutes to lure my blue-haired friend away from the girls and 10 extra minutes to persuade him into leaving the club. My patience was running out as we walked into the crisp, night air.
Inside the club, I had checked my phone as AJ dramatically came up with an excuse for his new fan club, only to find 3 missed calls all from my mom. She found out, I just knew she must have. She must have tried to reach me at Dan's. For some reason, my mother finding out wasn't the big catastrophe it had been earlier in my naïve mind. All I wanted to do was find Talen. I dismissed the calls and resumed my search for the lanky bartender.
"We have to find someone," I murmured to AJ.
"That's really specific, dude," AJ sneered, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
"Just look for that bartender that was working in the club."

Caleb grabbed his mask back from the receptionist after she had checked the mesh and bib, running his thumb along the new blue stamp on its side amidst the many other, older, ones.
"Are you all checked?" Delacruz asked him when he found the boy stretching in the men's locker room.
"Yep," The fencer replied, switching legs.
"Alright then get your stuff on. I'll help you warm up."
"m'kay." The brunette nodded, looking over at Delacruz knowingly, "Gonna show off for all the sponsors, eh?"
The Asian man smirked before leaving Caleb to suit up.
Alec sat up from where he'd been lying on the bed and stalked out of his room to get some food in his stomach. He hadn't eaten since yesterday, his head too clouded from constantly thinking about Caleb to worry about food.
As he walked out into the hallway, the sound of the TV in Danni's room made him freeze mid-step. Glancing over from where he stood, he saw the brunette that had been invading his

"Ugh! It's hot! How can you wear that thing? It's like 100 degrees!"
AJ fanned himself and stuck his tongue out, panting heavily like a dog would. I shook my head, smiling as I zipped up my sweatshirt.
"It's 60 out and perfect for a sweatshirt."
"What? It's boiling!"
"You are so over-dramatic." I laughed and stared down the road, my eyebrows furrowing.
"What time did they say they were picking us up?" AJ asked, mimicking me as I stared towards the corner.
"Talen said he'd be here around 5:00. It's 5:30 now."
"Of course, he'd be late," the blue-haired boy scoffed and crossed his arms, sticking out his bottom lip. "I'm hungrryyyy."
"Quit complaining," I snapped with irritation. "Why didn't you eat lunch?"
"Because I needed to save room for the greasy, fried shit at the carnival. DUH."
"Well, he should be here any minute."
Just as the words came out of my mouth, the familiar red mustang pulled around the corner and up AJ's driveway, sounding the

Stopping a block away from my house, Talen put the car in park and stared out the windshield. I turned in the passenger's seat to stare at him one last time, his hazel eyes shifting to me as I smiled a bit.
"I don't want this night to end," I whispered, staring at my hands in my lap.
"Me neither," The black-haired man whispered, caressing my face in his hands. "But I had a really good time. I'm glad you like me back."
Talen leaned forward and let his fingers sift through my hair as his lips gently brushed mine, bringing me into a tender kiss. I closed my eyes and brought my hand up, tracing Talen's prominent jaw bone with my fingers as he moved closer, putting more pressure on our lips. He pulled away slowly, grinning slyly.
"W- What's with that face?" I stuttered, furrowing my eyebrows.
"Where did you learn to kiss like that?" He asked, leaning back and making my face burn with unease. "It seems like you've had practice before."

My mother looked up from her book and raised her eyebrows at me expectantly as I rubbed the back of my head.
"Do you mind if I go out tonight?"
"And where do you plan on going?"
"Over to Dan's."
"Oh, but of course! That Daniel is such a nice boy," My mother picked her book back up and smiled to herself. "If only you were more like him."
I frowned and ran upstairs to my bedroom to change. Before I stripped, I stared at myself in the floor-length mirror on my closet door. My black hair needed a trim to keep it from falling over my icy, blue eyes. My skin was white as a sheet and my body lacked the muscles guys were supposed to have packed under their skin. Flesh and bones. That's all I was. I was never going to get a guy, looking like this. Not that it mattered. Dating really never interested me all that much and I had yet to find a guy that perked my interest. My parents didn't like the fact that I was gay and I usuall

Caleb sat back in his seat, cradling his new bowl of ice cream protectively in both hands. Alec watched him with amusement as the brunette shoved a spoonful of the Dippin' Dots into his mouth. His eyes suddenly widened in alarm and he opened his mouth wide, waving his hand frantically as if trying to scoop in the air.
"Dude it's cold." Alec chuckled as Caleb fought off the brain freeze, his hands on his temples and his eyes squeezed shut.
"No! Really?!" Caleb retaliated, his words dripping with sarcasm.
"Yeah, that's why you don't put a huge spoonful of it in your mouth, smart one." Alec rolled his eyes and laughed as the fencer stuck his tongue out at his date, turning away from him and crossing his arms, pouting. Glancing at Alec from the corner of his eye, he slowly brought the spoon to his lips and took another bite of the ice cream. Alec laughed at him as Caleb slid the spoon from his mouth, his eyes large and innocent. He looked a lo

I was shoved hard against a brick wall, a hand enclosing around my throat.
"No," I gasped through clenched teeth, groaning in pain. "P- Please stop."
The silver-haired man moved closer to me and grinned, revealing slightly crooked, tobacco-stained teeth.
"Then hand it over," He sneered, allowing his free hand to roam my body for valuables.
I trembled and clamped my grey eyes shut, feeling the grip on my neck tightening.
"I- It's in my pocket." I mouthed, struggling to breathe.
I felt his hand reach deep into my pants pocket and grab hold of my wallet. He pulled it out, grinning like he'd just won the lottery. Still keeping a strong grasp around my neck, he dug into the wallet, seizing a wad of money.
"Thank you very much." He derided, and coldly threw me to the side.
I landed hard against the alley's cracked concrete and sat up slowly as he ran off, stuffing the bills into his pocket.

Hey! Are you free? Alec stared at his phone hopefully until Caleb responded:
Sorry I'm on my way to practice… ):
Alec frowned, flipping his phone shut and throwing it on his bed. He hadn't seen Caleb for weeks and it was starting to make him depressed. The last time he'd dropped Danni off at practice, Caleb had been passed out in the locker room. One of the instructors had told him it was the prodigy's hour break and that he'd been training there since 7 in the morning, so Alec hadn't woken him.
Alec looked up when someone knocked on the door to his room, breaking his train of thought.
"Alec? Can you take Danni to fencing?" His mom's voice called through the door. Alec wanted to see Caleb so badly, he immediately answered with a yes.
Danni didn't talk to him at all in the car or when they got to the fencing club. When he walked through the door he instantly looked toward the strips for Caleb. He was there, leaning against the

Alec opened his eyes slowly, blinking away the last fragments of his dreams. He rolled to his side and regarded the lump under the covers there, smiling softly. The blonde scooted himself closer to Caleb's sleeping form, brushing strands of brown hair from his closed eyelids. The fencer stirred under Alec's fingertips, burying himself deeper into the sheets.
A grin stretched across the blonde's face and he leaned close to Caleb's ear, his hand slowly traveling down the boy's arm and under the covers.
"Wakey, wakey " He whispered seductively, shaking Caleb at the hip. The brunette opened his eyes and squinted up at Alec.
"Rise and shine!" The hazel-eyed boy said warmly, smiling down at him. Caleb pursed his lips, his eyes only half open.
"Why are you touching me at like 6 in the morning?" He practically growled at Alec.
"It's 9:30, silly!" He said laughing, letting his hand slide down and around to the inside of the brunette's thighs. Caleb

"En Garde, ready? Fence!" The referee shouted, bringing his hands together.
Ethan rushed forward, surprisingly quick for his size, and Caleb advanced as if he planned to meet him in the middle of the platform. The brunette saw him sink down, a motion he had noted in the last match as preceding an attack for the larger fencer.
The prodigy scrambled backwards as Bradford lunged towards him, the blade rushing past Caleb's mask, so close he could hear it whistle through the air as he reached out and tapped the black haired boy on the shoulder. They stayed frozen like that for a second after the buzzer went off and the ref called out Caleb's point. Caleb finally stood and walked calmly back to his starting line, rapping his blade three times on the ground so quickly that the noise blended into one sound.
Alec watched with wide eyes.

The whole family stared at Caleb in alarm, Alec furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
Didn't he just tell me I was his first friend? He thought to himself. How does he get a girlfriend when he's so busy with fencing?
"Um," Caleb looked down, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. "Yeah, I met her through my parents. Her name's Haley."
Danni and Elaine glanced over at Alec, who was glaring at his plate, his fist clenched tightly around his napkin, his knuckles turning white. They noticed his eyes becoming glossy with the threat of tears. He quickly pushed himself away from the table and stood up, his hair falling into his eyes.
"Excuse me," He whispered, tossing the napkin onto the dinner table and stalking out of the room. Caleb's gaze followed the golden-haired teen through the doorway, his eyes spelling confusion. His head turned back to the table, his expression filled with perplexity.

Alec climbed out of the car as Danni opened the trunk and grabbed a handful of shopping bags filled with new sports equipment. She gathered the five bags in her hands and staggered away from the car so Alec could close the trunk. I sat at the bar, staring straight ahead, my thoughts pounding. I placed my fingers gently above my ears and dragged then in small circles, slowly as the bartender set a beer in my peripheral vision atop a painfully white napkin. A sigh escaped me as I took a long swig, closing my eyes as the alcohol made my taste buds dance.
I opened my eyes and peeked over my glass at the bartender staring at me with brown, curious eyes. The name, 'Dustin', was written out in black sharpie on a plastic square pinned to his shirt. I shrugged and set the beer down in front of me, laughing dryly.

Chapter 6, Part 1
"W- What?" I stared at the blonde boy with wide eyes as he looked down at me with tear-filled ones.
"My dad became extremely abusive after my mom died," Kieran began. "Before, he was a really great dad. He never laid a finger on me. Would never make me do things I didn't want to. But things changed. My mom was hit by a drunk driver while she was crossing the street when I turned 16. My dad was so traumatized by the whole thing; he just snapped under the stress. He started getting into drugs and alcohol. We were pretty good with money. He owned a huge company but it didn't stop him from getting into shit."
My eyes widened as I heard my intoxicated father stumble down the stairs. Shit! I wasn't prepared for him to get drunk right now. Before I could do anything, a shaky hand clamped down onto my shoulder.
"Kieran." I gulped and slowly turned to face him.
"Y- Yes, dad?"
"Go to the city and pick up what I asked for."
