McCall's Patterns + Yaya Han = Cosplay patterns!Today is an incredibly exciting day!!!McCall's Patterns + Yaya Han = Cosplay patterns!8 months ago in Personal More Like This
I feel incredibly lucky that on my birthday, I can finally reveal a long-awaited dream come true with all of you.
McCall's Patterns reached out to me last year to see if I would like to design some patterns for them. (Still reeling over this sentence, btw.) I had a meeting and lovely tour of their offices, and then got to work. My ideas were overflowing, but I knew exactly which patterns I wanted to design first...
We're proud to present "Yaya Han's Ultimate Bodysuit Pattern" as the first finished collaboration between McCall's Patterns and me.
It's a pattern we are sorely missing in the cosplay world - I know from having to alter and draft my own bodysuit patterns for many years. This patterns will make it easy for cosplayers (and everyone else) to tailor a bodysuit that will fit them like a glove, and use it as a base for thousands of costume ide

Bitching About April Fools on DeviantartLets get a little perspective, peopleBitching About April Fools on Deviantart4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I Know that it is common knowledge that the art-world generally regards deviantart as a beckon of professionalism and respectability. To see something like this while browsing for serious prospective employees on another busy work sunday on a serious talent search site that is totally serious business guys is totally going to get you banned from the art world and loose you all the jobz you would have gotten that day! This is an outrageous prank! This is not what DA is about!
Come on guys, perspective.
If your gallery is so important to your life and career that you can not stand to have even one of your precious thumbnails momentarily obscured lest every employer decide that cats are no longer the "in" thing this year and black list you from the industry, you probably shouldn't be on DA. Yes, some people get a lot of traffic from DA, but lets be honest, this is not an appropriate site in which to host any kind of serious portfolio. Fine,
The best link on the internetI should strongly warn you to beware of clicking on the link that I have included further down in this post. Do not, my friends and watchers, click on it while you are at work. Do not watch it in a public place with the volume turned to 11. (Or do, if you are so bold and infect those around you.) The link will direct you to the best web page on the entire internet. Every page that you visit hereafter will be only a wispy shadow of the greatness that you may have thought it was prior to viewing the page beyond this link. So, choose wisely before you click. Do you want your browsing, nay! your life, to carry on as it has. Or do you want to GO *THERE*. You will never come back from THERE if you do.The best link on the internet3 years ago in Personal More Like This

You can watch it here.
usually i don't do lineart this detailed if i think to paint over it, but in some cases it need to be done for showing whole design before applying color.
Most of the time i paint without any lineart and start straight with colors

WIP - Ahri League of Legends Tutorial/TipsSorry for not updating for a long time.WIP - Ahri League of Legends Tutorial/Tips3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This journal is gonna talk about how I actually made my Ahri Costume. I am not pro so my method is gonna waste a lot of fabric like I did.
I used Miyuko's Version as a references because the official paper is a bit small. I believe you can easily get references now because lots of people cosplayer Ahri before.
Materialswill only stated out major materials that you will need to buy, instead of finding them lying around at home.
-Red Matt Satin or printed satin(this work best because of the floral effect, I am out of option SO I used a thick satin instead.
-White Fabric of your choice, feel confortable with it.
-Yellow Satin or printed satin (same reason)
-Bias tape ( if you're using satin then get a satin bias tape)
-Patterned Ribbon/Tape (silver)
-Knitted China Accessories/Red Tassels.
-Big Golden Bell
I start out with the easiest thing - skirt . I draft this free hand.
Just draft the shortes
Patreon and being an artistHello dear dA-friends,Patreon and being an artist6 months ago in Personal More Like This
some of my friends asked me if I wanted to do a patreon campaign to get my supporters the chance to support my art. I must say, I am not sure at all about that. Sure, it would be nice, to be able to be as creative as I would like to be, book models or locations that I would love to work with or invest more in hardware. But here comes the but: I am not sure how I feel about the whole patreon concept. The idea just feels strange.
What do you think? Would you support an artist that you like? Or how would you as artist feel like if you had people supporting you financially?
I've always that I wouldn't want photography to be my job because I wouldn't want to change my art to make money and I still think that way. That is why I have another "dayjob" while photography remains my passion. But I must admit that the idea of being able to spend more money on the creation of my art is very tempting ...
So these were my thoughts... what are your's?
Have a nice evening

THE NEXT THREE YEARS OF MY LIFE
I had received a job offer at Microsoft. I guess this could have been one of my first 'big time' jobs, so I was a little ecstatic. It felt like a slow build to get to this point, after numerous indie games and under the table freelance jobs, but finally it had come.
I was working with my now best friend and business partner, Stephan, a suave German who I had met only a year or so prior. He had brought me into the fray, working with several other individuals who will, well, simply be known as individuals for privacy sake.
But yes, finally, I could put a professional company I

CORE ?! No thanks.... and after a lot of years we are not a DA (premium, sorry CORE) member anymore.CORE ?! No thanks.2 months ago in Personal More Like This
In a few words, we are REALLY happy that we are no longer Aeon Soul CORE.
Yes, that was what I read every time I logged in.
Now, we are Aeon Soul.
Ps I really hope, one day, another web site like DA will popup, so we can leave this place (yes, right now there aren't too many choices around the web ... nope, Pinterest and Tumblr are not a good replacement of DA) as we don't like the direction it is going and it's really hard for more artists to gather interest.
Pss I forgot to mention the star badge near the name. It's seriously ugly.
Psss Our problem with DA is not just limited to some cosmetic change, but right now, we are *happy* that we are gotten rid of of the "symbols" near our name !

I believe in deviantART. Which is to more accurately say I believe in the concept and the reality of the deviantART community.
When in contemplation of the eternal wellspring that is the deviantART project and how it has become the engine keeping my heart and mind on a full burn as I strive to be an upstanding member of the community as well as a helpful architect and eager participant in the conversation -- my thoughts inevitably settle upon my attempts to define my concept of Gratitude.
