The girl in the mirror looks sad. I want to set her free. That girl is pretty, but she doesn't know that. I tell her she's beautiful, but she doesn't believe me.
Why won't she believe me?
The girl in the mirror stands, staring back at me, her hands in her pockets. We're playing the copying game. I copy her and she copies me. She says she's lonely in the mirror, and I tell her I'm lonely here.
Why am I lonely?
The girl in the mirror tells me lots of things. She tells me I can do lots of things if I wanted to, but I tell her no. If I tried to do something that Tall Lady doesn't want me to do, then she'll hit me. The Tall Lady likes to hit me, I think. She hits me a lot. Sometimes she hits me when I haven't done anything.
Why does she hit me?
The girl in the mirror said she wants to set me free, but I don't understand. You're the one who's trapped, not me, I whisper. No, you're the one who's trapped, young girl. You can be free.
