Have a great day.
Recently, people like J-u-d-a-s have been hacked, having their accounts deactivated. Fortunately, J-u-d-a-s was able to regain control of his account.
I will be telling you how to avoid the same thing happening to you.
First of all, I'd like to say that the hackers are very smart and deceitful. They have made a login page very similar to deviantART's, but with this tutorial, you will be able to see the difference between the two and know whether you really need to log in or if it's a scam.
Can you tell the difference between the two? (Sc
Be vigilant of phishing scamsYour account's security is of vital importance to deviantART and we're committed to providing our members resources and advice on how to stay safe and secure online. Earlier today, an individual or group of individuals redirected some deviantART members to a false deviantART login screen by exploiting a cross-site-scripting vulnerability in deviantART's Journal system. This tactic, commonly known as phishing, allowed the individuals to gain access to some accounts.Be vigilant of phishing scams2 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This
Phishing is a serious matter on the Web. You've probably heard of phishing attempts through emails, the classic example being a fake email from a bank or other trusted authority, asking you to enter your personal information.
The individuals discovered and exploited a cross-site-scripting vulnerability in Journals that provided them the ability to redirect deviants to a different website, designed to mimic a deviantART login screen. Some deviants who did not realize that they were bei

About hackers on DA and what you can do"Hacker alerts" are pretty common around DA and it has been for a long time. Journals warning you that there is a hacker loose at DA and it will hack your account if you don't copy the journal and re-post it.About hackers on DA and what you can do2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Some variations can be: "There is a hacker that will block all your friends, leave nasty comments on other's profiles, will deactivate your account, will get you in trouble with the staff, etc." another could be "Don't watch *insert deviant's name here* because they will give you a virus if you do" there are a lot more variations, but you get the idea. These journals always end with something like "If you read this warning, spread the word and share it with your friends so they won't be the hacker's next victim!"
I know, reading something like this can feel terrifying and you might feel compelled to spread the word, you don't want you friends to be a victim of this terrible hacker!
I know that people re-post these journals with good intentions, trying to warn others about this sup

Giving and Receiving Feedback
One of the most useful things on deviantart is the option to give and receive feedback. There are different kinds of feedback. This article aims to inform you on how to give quality feedback and hopefully receive it.
Types of Feedback
One of the quickest ways to interact with others. From journals, to forums, to art, to profiles, comments are used everywhere. However, the quality can range from spam, to constructive.
Any deviant can write them,(~,*,=,`,^ etc.) but only premium members can request them. Constructive comments can substitute for these. Critiques take some time to write, and really provide insight. If used correctly, can be a wonderful way to give/receive constructive criticism.
This is important to receiving feedback. If you give, you are l
Publishing ScamsCopied and pasted from my blog since deviantART's been having this problem for a while now. I had meant to post something on this matter back in October since it was when I noticed more and more "publishers" like this popping up on the site, but never got around to it. Of course, with all of these unprofessional publishers coming out of the woodwork again recently, I thought I'd share what I shared on my blog here.Publishing Scams1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
What is a scam publisher?
Essentially, a scam publisher is a press that cheats authors into believing that they are getting traditionally published by their rules and guidelines. However, if you read the fine print, you'll see that "traditionally" publishing you is not at all what's happening. This can range from promising royalties which never come, making you pay a fee to be published, or even stem from lack of professionalism. While the term "scam" usually means forcing you to pay, there are many other
How to Remove 'More Like This'So last week I wrote a journal on the intrusive eyesore that is the "More Like This" feature. Tons of people complained to HQ that we preferred it as a button, and why.How to Remove 'More Like This'2 years ago in Personal Journal More Like This
- Revert it back to a button. It's still button for a few Deviants, how hard is it to take it back to that?
- Make it collapsible or Drop Down menu.
- Move it further down the page, past the artists information and "More from this artist".
- Make it smaller than the the thumbnails of the artists own work.
- Make it customizable so we can choose what we feature beside our own artwork. As of now, it's advertising our old crap AND Scraps. (as well as other people's art we don't want there) I had to store my Scraps so they wouldn't show up in it
- show LESS thumbnails.
- The distribution of exposure is terribly unfair. many people are forced to advertise others, while some deviants only advertise their own work.
It's a good feature, and good idea, no
Contest: Crossovers! As kids, we often mashed our toys together, regardless of Copyright. Superman would take command of G.I. How to : Find Art ThievesPlease this journal, so that a lot of people can read it.How to : Find Art Thieves2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I noticed that a lot of people don't know how to search for their photos on the internet, so here is a short tutorial. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about art thieves, but i still think it is important to look out for them.
1. visit Google.com
2. Go to the page of the photo you want to search and click "show image"
3. Copy the Link and paste it into google.
4. This page should open, click "search by image".
5. Now you can browse trough the results.
6. The less results the happier you should be.
EDIT : You can also use websites like : tineye.com and iqdb.com
This was pointed out to me by some people, personally i have no experience with them, but i am sure that they work too.

WHAT IS DEVIANT DISCOVERY?
Deviant Discovery is a weekly Journal Feature that focuses specifically on Deviants that have good art, but haven't gotten much attention for it. Every week, a new Deviant will be chosen, and a few of their artworks will be show in this Journal, along with a description of the artist themselves. This weekly feature will serve as an attempt to get under-appreciated artists more attention then they already have.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It will work in a similar way to Daily Deviations - either I could select a Deviant myself, or someone could be suggested by another Deviant. Once a Deviant is chosen, we'll find their best five Deviations to be featured in the Journal. Then, we'll give a short description of the artist's work, and a small explanation of why they were chosen. The feature will remain on the front of my page for seven days [168 hours; one week], so that the Deviant can get continuous attention. Suggestions could be s

PE: 5 reasons to believe in yourselfSuccess is not a measure of how much money you earn or how popular you are, rather, it is being able to find your passion - one that makes you happy and ultimately, one that you would be happy to leave as your legacy. To make a step forward to reach your dream takes smarts and guts but why couldn't you? Here is five reasons why you can.PE: 5 reasons to believe in yourself2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
1. Everyone was born equal
More-less, this is true, some people are born more challenged than others but we all possess skills and ability to learn. It is possible to build something out of nothing if we really want to. It all comes down to our preferences and decisions.
"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."
2. Overcoming your fears
By constantly challenging yourself, you can get rid of fears that used to follow you. You will no longer be worried, you'll know you can count on yourself.

For those of you eager to look at some boobs and hot male torsos, I'm afraid I won't be including any here .CEA Blog: Mature Content3 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This

All members over the age of 18 can choose to enable or disable the mature content filter to suit their needs. All members with a registered date of birth under the age of 18 have the mature content filter locked on and can not disable it. All logged out visitors have the mature content filter enabled and can not disable it.
The mature content filter is split in to two types, strict and warning. The strict filter is completely voluntary and prevents any deviant with the mature content filter on from accessing the work. The general or warning filter is the standard mature content tag and will remove the image from immediate view when browsing and place an warning page on the devi

We're looking for game players to come and join in our deviantART Birthday Event! In just a short while 3wyl and myself are hosting an interpretation of a British game show called Pointless. The idea of the game is that you have to guess the least popular answer to a multiple answers question. You will be awarded points accordingly, those with the most points will win - but you will have used pointless answers to get there!
We'll have pre-judged the least popular and most popular answers by asking a panel of CVs beforehand for their responses. Want an example?

Okay so Mission Impossible is a really high answer and if you said that one, you'd get lots of points. Which isn't good! If you said Rain Man - you'd possibly be getting less points. But if you said something like Endless Love or Taps, then you'd be hitting on an answer tha

So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice that stands out above the many other
