You paused as you walked into the room. So many choices.
You looked around, feeling slightly crest-fallen. None of the cats really looked like on you could get along with.
Maybe you shouldn't buy a cat. You didn't know if your apartment even allowed cats.
Besides, would you really have the time to take care of one?
Sighing, you turned to leave.
"I'm really sorry Miss Elizabeta. I don't think I'm ready for a cat."
She nodded and shrugged, "Come back if you change your mind."
Sighing again, you left.
"I can't deal vith him." You looked over at your German friend. Ludwig was glaring at something behind the couch. He had called you over, saying that his cat was a pain in the ass.
"So what do you want me to do?" Standing up, you walked over and peered around him.
You blinked down at the little cat standing before you. He had a strange curl of hair. His beige fur ruffled.

You stared intently at the cats around you. You wanted a self-sufficent cat. One that wouldn't need you around 24-7
A smoky-gray cat with icy-blue eyes caught your attention. Actually it was the energetic tabby that was running in circles next to him, that first caught your attention.
"Is he up for adoption?" You pointed at the gray cat.
Elizabeta nodded, picking him up and shoving him in your arms. "Yup."
You stared down at the cat. He looked like he was scowling.
"Doesn't he need a cat-carrier?" You patted his smooth head.
"Nope. He's a really well behaved cat." She picked up a stack of papers, "He's like a little soldier or something. He keeps the other cats in line and never acts up."
"What's his name?" You signed paper after paper.
"Weeeell at first we called him Ludwig. But recently we've started to call him Germouser."
Huh. Kind of a strange name for a cat. But whatever.
-----Tiny time skip-----
Elizabeta was right.

You looked around at the groups of cats. So many to chose from....
This was going to be a hard choice too. All of them were so cute!
You watched as a little beige cat with a brown riffle of fur around its neck raced around the room, jumping over a rather annoyed looking Scottish fold.
Something brushed your leg making you jump in surprise. A fluffy long-haired cat looked up at you, it's long white hair brushing the floor.
"Hi kitty." It meowed, blinking up at you. Crouching down you patted it on the head, while looking around.
So many frickin' cats!!
A little shape in the corner of the room caught your attention.
It was a small black and white cat. He just sat there looking at the ground while the other cats romped around him. It had to be one of the cutest sights you had ever seen.
"Um." You stood up, "Is that one up for adoption?"
Elizabeta pursed her lips, "Are you sure about that one? He's not very social."

"We have a really big selection of cats as you can see." Elizabeta laughed.
She was right. You didn't think you had ever seen as many cats as there were in this place. A small tabby rubbed up against your leg. He had a funny curl on his head.
"Thats Itabby." she pointed to a dark gray cat, "Thats his friend Germouser."
Nodding you crouched, patting the cat's head. A rather large white cat sauntered up to you. He had a friendly air about him.
"Whats this guys name?" You rubbed a hand across his fluffy head.
Elizabeta raised an eyebrow, "Thats Francis. He likes to cause trouble." You stared at the cat. He winked up at you.
Kinda weird for a cat.......
"He really doesn't look like he causes that much trouble." You mused aloud.
Elizabeta snorted. "Between him and his friends....." She motioned towards two cats sitting across the room. They were also white, although one had beige patches of fur.

So many cats!!!
Big cats, tiny cats. Every color possible.
How to choose? Frowning you scanned the room. You wanted a cat that wasn't very well liked by the others. One that you could shower with affection.
A large gray brown cat sat off to the side. The other cats skirted around it.
"Can I have that guy?" You squeaked pointing towards him.
Elizabeta looked surprised, "You sure? Nobody really likes that cat. Sometimes people do adopt him, but they always bring him back."
You felt your heart throb in sympathy. You had to have that cat. "I am one hundred percent sure!!"
Shrugging she hefted the large cat into an over sized carrier and handed you a stack of papers.
After signing and paying the adoption fee you loaded the cat into the passenger seat of your car.
"Soooooooo." You made a right turn out of the parking lot
"What to call you.." You looked over at him. The cat had a rather large nose and purple eyes. Too cut

So many caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats.
You tapped your foot in frustration. How could such a small room hold so many cats?
Which cat...... How could something so simple be so difficult? Did that even make sense?
You remembered a slight problem. Your son.
Geez, you didn't want to bring home a cat that would scratch or bite him.
"Um are there any cats that don't mind kids?" You scratched the back of your head, surveying the assortment before you.
Elizabeta nodded, "We have Berwald and Tino." She pointed at a chair. On it sat two cats, a small beige one and a rather intimidating looking, big gray-blue cat. "Tino is a really sweetheart. He loves people, especially little kids. Berwald doesn't really interact that much with people, but he can be really affectionate when he wants."
You stared at both cats. Berwald glared back. Geez.

The meowing from the cats was loud. There had to be at least thirty cats there.
"Are you looking for a particular type of cat?"
"No. Not really..." You twirled a lock of hair around your finger. "Are there any kittens?"
"Yes!" Elizabeta clapped her hands. "Only one though, the other two where adopted." Nodding you followed her over to a cardboard box.
Inside was a smallish beige and white cat. It had the most vibrant purple eyes you had ever seen.
"This is Matthew. His father, Francis, is that one over there." You looked over at the fluffy white cat.
"Um I'll take him!" Reaching out you patted the kittens head. He blinked up at you.
Elizabeta grinned, "Good choice! Matthew's a bit shy, but he'll warm up to you!"

The guy struck a pose and pouted, "You, like totally putting her asleep vid dat speech. Just let her pick a cat!!!"
Elizabeta opened her mouth to speak, but stopped when you shrieked.

This wouldn’t be nearly as easy as you had expected. How were you supposed to find a cat that stood out to you when so much commotion was going about? Yao was now making another attempt at the kitten pen, the Scottish Fold now had its hackles raised towards the pure white Persian, and what looked like a white mix with red eyes was fleeing quite loudly from a brown and white cat. It seemed like every cat had its own quirks – something that made it unique.
At least you had one idea: You wanted an adult cat. There wasn’t anything wrong with kittens, you loved them to pieces! But that was the thing. Everyone wanted a kitten. They’re young, energetic, fluffy, and of course adorable. However, the adult cats had a much tougher time finding a nice home. If you had a cat that was more isolated and quiet, it would feel just as empty as it already did around your house. Loud choruses of mewling from the kitten pen made you turn. ‘Well, kittens are playful and energetic,’ you thought to yourself. ‘Not to mention a kitten would have a longer life with me than an adult.’ You decided to give it a try, making your way over to the little pen to stand by Bella.
