a different flame

one day it
will burn out
and its light
will be gone
by a new one
but still not the same
forever in the dark
but never erased
for it served
and now must move on
like an old book
with its new cover
but on the inside
its the same
Hunger For ReadingWould it come as a surpriseHunger For Reading2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
That I devour books easily like
The chocolate you find so damn
Irresistible? Fresh taste is
All I ever asked for, all I
Ever wanted - I'm an eager
Connoisseur in the making.
I browse with hungry eyes;
It's like I'm at an all you
Can buffet, unsure of what
To get - my expectations so
High that I can rival anyone.
Maybe my thirst is not easy,
Perhaps it's so unquenchable
That it cannot be satisfied.

The further flames engulf me
Until I plead for sanctuary.

The ties have been severed
And now at last I am free to
Become my own person again.
My mind has been liberated,
Wanting to expand even further.
I am no longer a spineless puppet,
I am nobody's fool, not even yours.

Hanging over my head,
No escape from thunder.
They wash over me
Until I reach the shore
Where the rocks await me.
I then decided
To build my own boat.
I'll sail to many lands,
No use in turning back,
Just move on.

Be still, don't cry.
Lay with me
A little while.
Close your eyes,
Slow your breath.
Hear your heart
Inside your chest?
Your heart is strong,
It guides you well.
Be sure to listen
To what it tells.
I hear him now,
Outside the room.
It won't be long,
He'll find us soon.
Now close your eyes,
Slow your breath,
And rest your head
Upon my chest.

But my hope never dies
Tell me I 'can't do it'

A fiery passion burns within me
One that you will not take away
Forever I will stand freely
And my fears, I will slay

You don't want me here, do you?
You'd rather me be gone.
You are all I know.
You are not a person, but my world.
I've never known anything but you.
This world, you, it's new to me,
But it's all I have.
What am I to expect?
Will I one day be out of here?
Will you raise me in a world where you are there?
You answered it all.
You don't want me.
My own world does not want me.
You went to a doctor,
And they said they would kill me.
And they did.

Art theft on Deviantart, an Experiment. After being a member of deviantart for a couple years, after browsing through it for honestly several years, I have come to a startling and terrifying realization; art theft is now higher than ever before and less is being done about it. My main fear was that in due time, deviantart will become nothing more than a fancy photobucket where you can't tell if the person who posted the piece is the one who made it, or not. It seemed every week now, a piece that was stolen makes it to the front page, giving users who simply googled the piece in a matter of a few seconds more attention than a user who spent several hours, if not days making a work of art they were proud of. Of course me and several other users reported these thefts, but it is very rare that the issue is resolved. I've reported several pieces but it has been months since a mod has sent me a message informing me that the issue was fixed and the piece was taken down, like it should have been.Art theft on Deviantart, an Experiment.3 years ago in Comedy More Like This

My name is Sarah Marcel. For the past few...well, I'm unsure of how long it's been actually. Let's just say for quite a while now, I've been living an extremely unusual life. Actually, I guess I haven't really been "living" very much of it. You see, for a great deal of my life, I've been a stone statue. I know it sounds unreal. After all, people turning to stone is the stuff of myth and movies, right? You couldn't be more wrong. I figured after all these years, someone out there should know what I've been through, and I've finally decided to put it all on paper. Now, I'm no writer by any means so don't go expecting Harry Potter or whatever you people read these days.
However, before we begin, I suppose I should give a bit of background of myself. I know what you're thinking: "This is boring, let's get to the unusual pa

How can she say that I am not her type?
After the constant phone calls and the facebook messages
And listening to you talk about all of your annoying relatives.
I thought that you and I could’ve been something.
I know now you think all guys are just after one thing.
Especially after the last guy and what he did to you
And I thought since I was the person you came running to.
That maybe, eventually there could be something between us
And you would believe me when I say I am not thinking of my penis.
When I say I long to hear your voice, even if it's only for a little while
And I love the way your delicate dimples develop whenever you smile.
I even love the way you chew your nails wildly whenever you’re nervous.
So when my suppressed feelings for you begin to pierce through the surface
And I confess all of the affection held captive in my chest.
You say that you love me but you can only see me as a best...

Writing Tips 101Over the 10 years of writing, from online role-playing to full out story writing, I've come to learn a few things that I find helps me when I write my stories. They're little tips that I wish I had known when I had first begun this crazy trip. Some of them are rather obvious, yet unless someone points it out you might not realize it until late into writing. As such, I'd like to share some of those things for you now. If you find this even remotely helpful, please consider faving it.Writing Tips 1014 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
1. First Drafts ALWAYS Suck
It's a simple fact. You won't be a pro from the beginning, no matter how much natural talent you may have. Just accept this. So how do you deal with this? Just write. Write the first draft of whatever you're working on. Write a lot of it, if not all of it. From when you start and when you stop, you will see a HUGE progression in your writing. You'll see just how much your writing evolved and improved over time, especially if you got feedback along the way.

I'm sorry they never notice
how you try so hard.
I'm sorry that you're lonely,
without a cause or friend.
I'm sorry that they call you a freak;
your confidence - they bend.
I'm sorry you're emotional
and get sad over little things.
And I'm sorry that you're childish,
waiting for what the rainbow brings.
I'm sorry that you're dark -
your soul tortured since that day.
I'm sorry that you feel depressed,
helplessly looking for a new way.
I'm sorry to break it to you:

I'm sorry that they can not see
just how beautiful you are.
