Peter Paul Rubens. He like the big booty. And Queen songs too it would seem.
Painted as a brain break from advertising work and to try some new things.

Something a little different... Portrait study for a painting.
An idea I've been wanting to play around with for a while… washing a figure out with light, emerging from the brightness but leaving detail lost in the white.
Its tough having such gorgeous friends to help you out with your ideas! :D (the very beautiful and very talented :iconoilin:)

Its been a while, but 'I aintn't dead', to quote Granny Weatherwax (if you don't know who that is then shame)…. just super busy on things I can't post at the moment unfortunately.

In the meantime, here's a little peak at part of a secret project I've been working on…

My entry for this weeks Trinquette Challenge, organised by the great Alberto Ruiz.
Missed the deadline, but thought I'd better post it here as a reminder that space can be a lot more dangerous than you realise.
And requires a far less bulky dress code than previously thought.

No astronauts were harmed during the making of this picture.

EDIT: Just thought I'd better explain WHAT the Trinquette challenge is:

the moderator posts a photo which all entrants use as the inspiration/pose for their illustration.
For example:
The amazing Serge Biraults entry : [link]
The Talented Ben Tan's entry: [link] (obviously he likes retro space stuff too :D )

Happy New Year and all that...
2013, chase your dreams, no matter what they are!

Silly sketch and probably not really worth the time I spent painting it, but then again someone nicknamed loopydave probably isn't going to exhibit the most rational behaviour.

Barry looked and acted tough, but deep inside he wanted to sing, dance and paint pretty pictures of daffodils.

Back in 2004 I was working on a comic I was calling 'Robyn Hood and her Mary Mehn'. Never got very far with the project before I stopped…. and now that Zenscope has launched a "Robyn Hood' comic of their own, thats where I will leave it :D.
So here's me dragging out my character lineup art one final time, finishing off the colours and posting it as a farewell to the whole thing.

Pencil and inks, then coloured in photoshop.
