Arctic Animal comic competition results!I'm pleased to announce the winners for the 2012 'My Arctic Animal' comic competition! I was amazed and moved by the creativity, passion and variety of the entries I received. They were incredibly varied, from dramatic, to funny, to heart-wrenching, utilizing every art medium from crayons to digital paint. I am proud to announce the big relaunch of The Last of the Polar Bears. As you may recall, The Last of the Polar Bears is my online graphic novel about a mother polar bear and her two cubs and their struggle to survive in the warming Arctic of the near future.
It's been a long journey getting to this point. I began work on The Last of the Polar Bears in 2009, researching polar bears and the arctic extensively, plotting the story in detail, designing the characters, and storyboarding the complete book. Now I am hard at work illustrating the pages.
Every Monday, I post a new page up on the website. It's currently up to page 15. Some of the early pages will look familiar to returning readers, but look carefully and you'll notice that they've been retouched and enhanced. Bear with me, it's all new territory once we get up to page 36.
So please, come join me and the polar bears on their grand journey.
