Mario XOXO: Chapter 1Mario XOXO: Chapter 18 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Though it was a sunny and lovely day, everyone was too distracted to notice the rare moment of peace in their kingdom. This was because it was the week before Valentine's Day in Mushroom Kingdom!
The streets and item shops were filled window displays of gift ideas, shades of pink and red, roses, and toads rushing here and there searching for the perfect gifts to give! Excitement, suspense, and love was filling the air! Every minute that passed meant they were a minute closer to the special day!
Mario and Luigi were also among the many who were searching for the perfect gift.
"THIS IS MY YEAR, WEEGI!!" Mario declared.
For years he had trouble and doubt about gift giving, but he promised he had the best idea this time. However, Luigi wasn't impressed or as optimistic as his older brother.
"You say this every-"
"BUT THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT, WEEGI!!" Mario said smiling ear-to-ear.
Luigi just stared, a bit embarassed for the both of them.

Parties were never my thing. I was required as a leader to attend them. Gallas. Balls. Appearances. Always I was told to go. Because I'm Wonder Woman and I have to do it for the team. It was so...stupid for someone like me to have to do this. The first heroes of Gotham were at a celebration for the first owner of a world-wide meausem. Mr. Banks. He was about 87 and very rich. Unfortunately...he was going to die any day from natural causes. Or so he has said. No. The heroes were not in their costumes. We were all in normal wear. Dresses. Suits. Tuxedos. The people were dancing under the lights hung in the trees of the meausem garden. Drinking Champagne and laughing with the music. This is were the night dawned upon us. Only little of them noticed.
The wind blew my hair from my shoulders and ruffled the skirt of my dress. My hip resting on a gargoyle of the meausem balcony. The nights shadows the only friend of the roof top. I sighed listening to the music sway the trees below me. I was

Five and One - Okay, make it Six
SUMMARY: (AU) Five times a Cat got the better of a Bat and the one time... well, maybe we should just make it six.
AUTHOR'S NOTES: This little nibble struck me the other day after I was going through my favorites over on DA trying to get some inspiration for a few YJ pieces I'm working on. Then I saw this image by Callousvixen:
It's a shame they never got to introduce Catwoman to the Young Justice Verse. There are so many versions of Catwoman that do the character justice, but I think I'm most fond of the Animated version from the 90s. She was just the perfect counterpoint for Batman. However, I adored Anne Hathaway's costume from The Dark Knight Rises so that's what I've based the look on. Google it if you'd like a reference.
This story is pure ridiculous. I started writing it and it just kept getting worse and worse. And I love every wo

I Love You
I know it's wrong
But I cannot help it
The more I think of it
The more I realize that I'm wrong
The more I love you
And that makes me weak
When I fight you
Not your might
But my love for you
I have lost my reason
I have lost my pride
I have lost myself to you
Because I love you
Tears in my eyes
As I weep silently
At the grave of my broken heart
Yes, I have brought it unto myself
But I cannot stop saying
I love you
Top Ten Myths About The AmazonsTop ten myths about the Amazons.Top Ten Myths About The Amazons10 months ago in Profiles More Like This
1) Amazons are purely a myth.
This is purely a false statement. Evidence from the ancient world provides documents of a matriarchal society in Asia Minor run by a queen. This society was the location of Amazonia, the ancient kingdom of the Amazons. There are records suggesting that this civilization run by women was a powerful force in the ancient world. Babylonian, Greek, Roman, and even Egyptian texts suggest that many countries including Troy were allies and enemies with Amazonia. There is also historical evidence that these women came from the north from the land that is now Russia. Even Alexander the Great is recorded meeting with an Amazon Queen during his trips through Asia Minor.
2) The Amazons hated men.
This statement is also a false myth stated in Greek culture more than Greek text. In the ancient world, women in power were viewed as evil or dangerous. Greece was a society ruled by males. A culture with a woman in power wou

"I know I have a few more tablets!" the man swore, scrambling through his pockets for a bottle, a capsule, a baggie of the drug that made his confident, that opened doors for him. He tripped over a garbage can and fell head over heels and into a wall. The man groaned in agony as he tried to stand.
A soft voice whispered on the wind, "Mr. Kowalski...I've come for payment...."
Kowalski turned, whimpering. He couldn't see anyone. But he knew the voice; the voice of the man who gave him the pills, promising that they and positive thinking would give him his deepest desires. What

"Well, Doctor Kane, it's nice of you to help us get more of these patients looked at," said Dr. Leslie Thompkins. The silver haired middle aged woman looked at the young man as he wrapped the wrist of a child.
"Well, Bruce kinda forced me to come down here to check on things." said Joseph Kane as he finished the bandage. He turned to the child, "Now I want you to rest this wrist for a few days. Nothing intensive, do you understand?"
"Yes, Doctor Kane," said the kid as he ran off to meet up with his mom in the lobby.
Joseph turned to Leslie, "Bruce sent me to talk to you about the medication issues."
Leslie nodded, "In my office." They went into her office and Leslie invited Joseph to sit. Both knew their mutual benefactor's secret life, and both knew what was going on is important.
"I don't oversee Wayne Pharmaceuticals, Leslie, so I don't know why I was sent."
"You know, Joseph, that Bruce wants this to be discreet."

The next morning was a day of celebration throughout Themyscira. Much pomp and circumstance was made for this tournament as they rarely happen, and for such a cause to go to man's world. At the great Coliseum the stands were filled as nearly every Amazon on the Island attended. If one noticeable Amazon was missing, it was Princess Diana as her seat next to her mother's was empty. The 16 contestants stood in the center all standing in 4 rows. The queen stood in her perch and announced.
"If you are all ready, then let the Tournament begin. There will be four challengers to choose the winners. The runner up will take the female survivor to her true love, while the winner will return the male to America. As you know only the runner up shall return to Paradise Island, but the Gods demand that only the Strongest, wisest, and best of you sisters be honored with this self-sacrificing task, and may the best maiden win."
With that the festivities began with a cross island race that ended back in

So much to do. So much to consider.
Darkness had settled hours ago and the house was finally quiet. Though weary from a long day, Diana knew that sleep would be a difficult prize to claim, especially with everything in her mind that vied for her attention. She lay on her back, right in the middle of her spacious bed as she stared at the ceiling with troubled blue eyes. With one hand laying on her belly and the other arm curled around her head, she did her best to relax her body, hoping that her mind would soon follow. Her long black hair was pulled to one side and was flailed out on her pillow and bed. Her spacious bedroom was dimly lit in the warm blue glow offered by the full moon. There were not many furnishings, only the bed, desk across the room under the window and a wardrobe that was made of some dark wood. Two other pieces had joined the

Jess walked in today at work. She was wearing three-inch heels, which, with the virus' effects, made her three inches taller than me. At her current rate of growth, by tomorrow, she'll be taller than me when we're both barefoot.
Jess is flirting with me more openly. I have to admit, I like it. I always thought Jess was pretty, facially speaking. Now, as she gets taller and her weight is converted to bone and muscle, she's getting to be as sexy as she is beautiful.
The truth is, I've always been shy around women. As Jess is becoming stronger and more assertive, the impact on me is positive, too.

Elizabeth Martin let out a sigh as she knocked on the door of her neighbor’s house. She glanced back across the street at he own house, thinking that she’d much rather be in her room and chatting with her friends online. However, this was something she needed to do, and besides, it would only take a couple hours.
It had been just a little over a month since Elizabeth had turned sixteen, and she’d been trying to save up the money to buy herself a car. In fact, her original goal had been to buy a car the day she turned sixteen, though it was taking longer to earn the money than she’d expected. This was the reason that she’d spent the last two months working for her neighbor, coming over twice a week and cleaning house for her. Elizabeth didn’t particularly like cleaning someone else’s house, but she kind of liked her eccentric neighbor and this was a lot better than working in fast foo

I didn't know what to think of this movie when I first heard about it. I guess I was okay with it, but at the same time indifferent? I thought Henry Cavill was a cool choice for the role of the hero. But what put me off was that they felt the need to use a villain most fans don't care about unless they love the two first Superman movies to death. And it felt like they where overusing CGI like hell, which rubbed me the wrong way.
Then when it was released to cinemas, I saw mixed reviews. Still just didn't know what to think. Now I recieved it on DVD... saw it once, felt like the first half was "meh" and the second half was awesome. Rewatched it, all of it was awesome with one or two nitpicks. Then a third watch, and I think now I can explain just how I feel about the movie overall.
I freakin' love this movie, and I just can't help it. It's almost a irrational love, I feel crazy about it. But of course, I'll be rational - and I will most definitely tell about the flaws I spot with it as

“Please, just call me Wayne. With the amount of time we’ve spent together the last few months, I think we can drop the formalities.” Wayne corrected. Grayson just nodded and took a seat in the empty chair in front of Wayne’s desk.
“So Wayne, what is it you want to talk about. Has the mob contacted you again? Has He been sending you threats about the inheritance?”
Wayne sat in the extravagant leather seat behind the desk, tightening his tie and fixing his cufflinks.

He found a few cases of beer in the back of the fridge. He grabbed a six-pack that was tucked away and ran up to his room.

Dick heard the garage door opening. He hid the cans in his shower and walked out of his room and over to the banister to see who it was.

He emptied the contents of his bag on the floor next to his bed, just in case someone came in before he had time to grab and hide all the bottles. He pulled the cork out of the half full bottle of champagne and poured the small amount of tequila he found. He added a can of coke that he had also grabbed and took a gulp of it. It wasn't the best, but as long as he could get a little buzzed or drunk, he w

"Honey, where's my shield?!"
You heard Steve shout from another room in the house you both lived in. You dropped the rubber spatula you held in the sauce pan, letting out a few choice words as the red sauce flung up all over your 'I Want You!' Captain America t-shirt you wore.
Quickly, you grabbed a napkin and dabbed at the stains.
Once you were sure that the red stains had been diminished, you turned the stove heater down, letting the sauce stay warm and giving a quick glance to the spaghetti noodles, before walking towards the source of Steve's voice.
You finally reached the room where Steve was at, about to scold him like a little boy for startling you like that. You hated when Steve startled you like that, like the time he asked you to ride his motorcycle. Reluctantly, you said a 'Yes', earning a large grin. Sadly, he had started the bike to early at that moment, when your legs were straddling the bike, but you held onto nothing. You shot off the back of that

The attack on New York left many people sceptical about The Avengers abilities, whether they would really be able to stop all the bad in the world, whether they should even be allowed to do what they do… it all made no sense to you. How is it so many people could hate them, when all they do it try to help? Sure a few buildings were slightly destroyed, and not everyone made it out in time, but if they weren’t there to stop the aliens, wouldn’t the entire world be overrun and under the control of Loki…?
Your mind contemplated all of this as you walked down the sidewalk, a rather heavy subject for what would normally be a pleasant walk.
