Enter The Helljumpers
It had been a day since that man had shown himself, and since then, more of the strange Marines were popping up every now and then. And all of them shared the same thing in common; they didn't like anyone who wasn't one of them. Not even regular Marines. But it was the Strike Witches who were copping all the flak, and Yoshika didn't like it. Why did these people have to be the ones who hated the Witches? It made no sense. From what Yoshika had seen, the rest of the crew of the Spirit Of Guidance both respected and feared the Helljumpers. The Helljumpers gave no such respect in return, and didn't seem to fear anything. They were only a handful of men and women, but they seemed to be superior to everybody in terms of skill and equipment. They were the Special Forces. Yoshika assumed, from the name, that being a Helljumper required being a complete ass. But did they have to act like it all the time?
"Yeah, the 182nd ODST Platoon is made

Yoshika Miyafuji was thrilled that the 501st Joint Fighter Wing had been reformed. Yes, she was going back to war, but she was able to meet all her friends from when they fought against the Neuroi back in Britannia. But just like always, being in the military was hard work, but she wouldn't turn it down for anything.
This time, the 501st had been stationed in Romagna, on a strategic island that served as their base. The reunion with all her friends was bittersweet, as they were plunged into their first mission straight away. Today was their fifth mission so far. But this mission was different. They had all been called to intercept a possibly giant sized Neuroi which was headed towards their base. Even Major Sakamoto had been called up, despite her weakening magic power, since her ability to find the cores of Neuroi was at times crucial. But she no longer got as involved in battle as she used to, mostly staying out of harm's way, and that made Yo

Broomsticks and Boomsticks
Yoshika sighed as she flew along the coastline, accompanied by Lynnette and Perrine. She wasn’t exactly thrilled with their latest assignment. None of them were. The young Witch could still remember the Major’s words; “Since you three have returned, I’ve noticed that you’ve become sloppy. Even after the recent engagements you’ve all participated in, it is my belief that your abilities have dulled somewhat. To that end, I’m sending you away to receive special training!”
Yoshika sighed again. After all that had happened – the meeting with the UNSC, those several attacks on their home base, Operation: THERMOPYLAE – Sakamoto felt they were out of touch, and needed training. She let out yet another sigh when she remembered that one particular thing Sakamoto said; “And don’t come back until you have all passed your training!”
It just wasn’t goin

Yoshika was in the base kitchen, making food for the Marines from the UNSC "Spirit Of Guidance". She wanted to welcome these people properly, and she thought making them food was the perfect way. She just hoped they liked Fuso food. Lynnette was helping her as well, happily cooking with her friend. A Marine, Corporal Texas Mir, sat on a table nearby, watching the food being made, with an eager look on his face. This filled both Yoshika and Lynnette with joy, though they were a bit nervous from the fact that Texas had brought his DMR along, though it was lying across the table, its safety on.
"I don't know what you're makin', but it smells better than anything I've ever tasted. Oh, do you have any coffee by the way?" Texas both complimented and asked.
"Uh, yeah. In that cupboard there", Yoshika answered, pointing to the cupboard in question.
"Do you want me to make it?"
"No, it's fine. I can make it". Texas opened the cupboard and gra

Shock and Awe: The Crew of the Spirit Of Guidance
Yoshika Miyafuji awoke in a daze on some bed. Recovering from her grogginess, she looked around her surroundings. She figured she was in some sort of medical bay. She remembered the dizzy feeling that came over her and fainting when she learned this ship was just a Frigate class. Yet it was nearly twice the size of the Battleship Yamato, the flagship of the Imperial Fuso Navy. She looked around to see three men with bandages covering various parts of their bodies sitting at a round table, playing a game of cards. Yoshika felt the urge to use her healing magic to repair their broken bones and wounds, but she suppressed it, fearing it would cause the men to panic. Besides, they seemed fine anyway.
"That's 20 Credits you owe me now", the first man cockily informed the second.
"Screw you", the second man hissed at the first. The first man laughed and gave a light punch to the second man's left arm, which was in a sli

Yoshika Miyafuji was flying in formation with the rest of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing. Everyone was present, including Sanya and Minna. Today wasn't a practice flight or a patrol. And it wasn't a defensive operation. Today was an offensive operation. A big one. But the most unique aspect of this operation were two key differences that came from the one source; the UNSC Spirit Of Guidance was partaking in the attack. Not only that, but it was the spearhead. But the other key difference of this operation was the fact it was planned by Captain Yorhan Borgia with representative generals from all the participating allied nations. Such an offensive would normally be rejected, but this time, the Spirit Of Guidance was the key component. The whole thing was called… Operation: THERMOPYLAE.
It was called THERMOPYLAE by the UNSC, since they were the ones who proposed and planned the offensive. It was named such because the fight

So, we got a new activities director at camp. Bloke called Quintus. He seemed a nice enough demigod, though apparently it was rare for a demigod to live long enough to worry about greying hair. Not that he did, but it was the first adult I’d seen who wasn’t a monster or a grumpy wine god. The problem with him though was not anything to do with himself, but rather his “pet”. She was a dog. He called her Mrs O’Leary. Sounds cute right? Except that she’s as large as a garbage truck and as playful as a Juck Russel puppy. Apparently, she was big for a Hellhound, as it turned out she was. It didn’t make me eager to meet a “regular” sized one. Suffice to say, I avoided the arena like the plague, more than I did before. Seeing Mrs O’Leary use practice dummies that wore real bronze armour as chew toys that lasted as long as the stuffed animals my family got for my Jack Russel “Terrorist” (a

Everyone mourned for Barnette. The sorrow spread without the ship. Whenever there was a lapse in the crying, only silence reigned. Jura was particularly affected, and blamed herself.
“Why?! Why?!” she cried. Hibiki followed her down the corridor. He wanted to say something, but he didn't know what. He was just as upset as everyone else. It took all he had to keep from shedding tears. He had to keep composed, and stay strong for the sake of others, but he felt guilty for keeping his tears at bay. It was like an insult to his lost friend. But he gritted his teeth, and beared through it. He has to stay strong.

Chapter 7: Her Sister
It’s been a week since the incident with the thief, and everything’s been rather peaceful. My nightmares are still happening, but they’re dying down. That means they’ll stop completely soon. I’ve set up the laptop, and everything is working, other than the internet, which is not surprising. I’ve been learning reasonably well, and the Newspaper Club has been doing well. Everything seems reasonably normal. So why can’t I shake this ominous feeling?
I swallowed a pair of caffeine pills, still needing them, but not needing as many. How am I not addicted to these things? I headed over to the Newspaper Club room, having a free period for everyone to go there. I walk

Chapter 1: Arrival
Why the hell did this happen to me? I move to Japan from Australia with my parents a year ago, and I still can't get used to everything. What's worse, I fail the high school entrance exam, and now I heading to this different school, which doesn't require an entrance exam, after my parents found an enrolment form dropped from a "creepy priest guy". Entrance exams. They don't exist in Australia, so if I could've stayed, I wouldn't be on a bus, heading to this middle of nowhere school called Yokai Academy.
I looked out the window of the bus. Not a gum tree in sight. God I miss gum trees. I took them for granted in Australia, but now I really miss them. I then looked at the strange metal Medallion around my neck. Ever since I could re
