6/15/12 Update: Realized that with how I've been painting lately that I've been kind of skipping on clean-up lines. Went back to this one, did some clean up and defined a few more features on the characters.

However, I wanted to use my own characters and designs as the representatives of the five major races. Some of them I've had since playing GW1, so it's always fun to give them some attention.

You'll probably recognize most of them from the character studies I've been doing lately. As for the Warrior in front, I drew him a while ago back here: [link]

Been inactive for a while - finished this piece a few months ago but wasn't able to post it until now. Cover image commission for the website Guild Launch. I also made a second image that's not in rotation on their page yet. Have to wait until it's posted and then I can submit it here.

Anyways, they wanted an image with two characters (male and female) that would be relate-able to the audience. A big problem with fantasy art is that women are often overly sexualized, depicted in skimpy cloth armor (if you can even call it that), and often pushed to the side as support characters.

On top of that, you also don't see many people of color in the lead roles or as the heroes either.

This is what I came to in order to make the piece relate-able to a wider audience than just white males. Because women and people of color also enjoy the fantasy genre, and would like to see characters like themselves that aren't stereotyped and/or forced into support roles.

That being said, thanks to Guild Launch for being open-minded and letting me run with the idea.

Noticed that most of the entries focused entirely on the kids/good guys. Figured I'd go the opposite direction and make a cover focusing on Magistrate Adonis Kardis and a partial cityscape of Akkades.

Kardis is a bit of a Darwinian warmonger, so that's why Akkades is on fire with weaponry in the background.

studying this old animation book i found in the basement.. Has alot of interesting principles.. Animated commissions will be reopen ... If I owe you one It will be coming out very soon

Another day, another job.

Concept of sci fi rifle - Vulcan. I designed it as pair for pistol I did earlier. ([link]) To make contrast, rifle body is made of plastic. Whole collection is meant to be from future but not too futuristic. To keep it believable I used standart scope. While pistol is rough rifle look is clean, shiny and polished.

Technical facts: Concepting, modeling and rendering is mine. Model is completely highpoly. I used 3ds max and render engine is v-ray. I tried for "clean" look. Model is based only on various dark materials and shadows. In this concept I did not use textures of material at all.

I'm available for freelance job. I prefer mechanical to organic objects.
