More Than My JewelsMore Than My Jewels
Women want jewelry and fine clothes,
To make them feel proud.
They want others' attention on them,
Whenever they move around.
Beneath these desires, one passion still waits
To be satisfied.
Whether someone will satisfy it or not,
Brings different tears to their eyes.
What is the passion I speak about?
When a man satisfies it, she weeps tears of joy;
When he refuses her, she weeps from sorrow.
But my lover satisfies me every time,
And great ecstasy will always follow.
So I cry to Heaven above
"He is worth more than my jewels."

Lying upon my bed of cotton
The one I loved gone, but not forgotten
Still my heart remembers and adores
I speak her name time and again
I try to rest and forget my pain
But that familiar voice cries "Never more!"
High upon my doorstep, sitting
Still as that bust of Pallas, never flitting
The raven watches and waits for me to die
It follows my hand as i attempt to write
It follows me to my bed in the night
I cannot ignore it, though I try
My heart and mind are consumed by worry
Still I hear that wnged fury
It remains in my chambers 7 X 24
"Get you gone, you winged devil!
No longer fill my life with your evil!
Leave me alone with her who I adore!"
But the raven still is sitting, still is sitting
Upon that bust of Pallas on my chamber door
Still that awful voice is creaking
Still that awful voice is shrieking
Those two words I have heard so oft before:

The rain fell in a torrent tonight
We lay in bed and listened
The voice of the rain was soft and low
It nearly lulled us to sleep
We turned to gaze at each other
She smiled and whispered to me
I reached over to embrace her
Safe and sound she was in my arms♥
The rain may fall for one hour
It may fall all night long
It may not stop until morning
We neither know nor care
There is always one another
~~~Let the rain pour down~~~♥
What would a story be?
If there was no one there to read it.
What would dreams be?
If there was no one there to conceive it.
What would a picture be?
If there was no one there to see it.
What would a secret be?
If there was no one there to keep it.
What would love be?
If there was no one there to feel it.
What would a song be?
If there was no one there to sing it.
What would the truth be?
If there was no one there to admit it.
What would advice be?
If there was no one there to give it.
What would life be?
If there was no one there to live it.
Rhythm and Blues
We live in a free country
We all have the right to choose
Nobody has the right to bully
Or make anyone sing the blues
You may be straight, you may be gay
You may be AC-DC
But you choose your way
It makes no difference to me
This is a free world
No matter, guy or girl
All the labels they use are only words
I won't make you sing the blues
For the partner that you choose
Doing that is just too absurd
Leave them alone
Look the other way
Or just go home
La Café Asienne
To Puabi and Christina
To the woman it concerns
To me, there is more to a portrait than a woman looking at her painter.
Wars and conquests.
Man was bold.
He saw a foreign land and ran to conquer.
He saw a solitary woman and ran to conquer.
He saw the earth of both.
Earth is female; her heart is fire.
The heart of the woman has more
More than desire
What lies beneath
Finds expression in her eyes.
The anguish of men's abuse
The desire to be cherished
Remains locked in her heart
Les guerres et les conquêtes.
L'homme était gras.
Il vit sur une terre étrangère et courut à la conquête.
Il vit une femme solitaire et courut à la conquête.
Il a vu la terre à la fois.
Terre est une femme; son cur est le feu.
Le cur de la femme a plus
Plus que le désir
What lies beneath
Trouve son expression dans ses yeux.
Hey! Will you look at my photo?
You will see the shine in my eyes.
Look deep inside and you will know,
That I care about you till I die.
Although I don't know why.
After all you put me through,
It is true,
I am only human.
Hey! Will you lean over and kiss my cheek?
You will make the smile I need to wear.
Look into my eyes, you will see
It is true how much I care.
Even when you are not there.
After all you put me through,
It is true,
I am only human.
Around me, so much confusion
Outdoors, but indoors too
Things happen that I cannot resolve
But whenever the storm blows hard
I head straight away for the 'eye'
She is there, waiting, and I grow calm
We lie down together and embrace
She knows that I am never upset with her
Always patient and innocent
She reminds me that I must be too
Then I am
Love needs calm and peace
That is always her message to me
Their open mouths suck out my soul
As their eyes gape ignorantly ahead
I come forward to challenge their point of view
They cannot follow me
Every age and every faith
'Just gets twisted round some other way'
Only those like me can ever know
What the founders really said
'Temples should be houses of prayer'
Not for the likes of what I see
My eyes may no longer open
To behold the truth when it dawns
I wish you'd return.
But your hatred,
I always seem to spurn.
That's why I did it.
I made things this way.
You know that I had to.
What else can I say?
I really do miss you.
It's so lonely here,
But your wrath,
I really do fear.
Is there a balance.
Maybe I'll ask.
Finding the sweet spot,
Will be quite a task.
If we can be happy,
Just me and you.
There isn't anything,
I wouldn't do.
Where is my salvation?
Someone who will rise me up,
shine with me
and be my back up
Someone who will fight with me
I know, I know darling
It's not your job
None of this is your fault, I should really quit whining
You just got unlucky baby
stumbling upon little me
But I really think you're what I need
What I've been waiting, searching and hoping for
All just to get trough another day, you must lead
So if I reach out my hand to grab yours
if I ask nicely,
and bow my head down to admit your kindness
Will you be it?
Will you look me in the eyes and feel mercy?
Will you take my hand, lead me to safety
and show them?
Will you show them, that you now stand before me
no matter what?
Will you understand
will you know without any outspoken words,
my pain, my insecurity and my strange taste in music?
Will you show me hope
hope for us to win this war
this so called life?
Then touch me gently and feel my skin
Hush me quiet and let it in
The night sky was ready to pour down rain
Till the clouds parted and the air got dry
I was expecting a shower, to lie in my bed
And spend the night with my lover
----I will, despite the change
It is her reward for her quiet patience
She looks up at me with a twinkling eye
Ne'er an angry or unhappy word is said
Only her call to me: "Beloved!"
Thrilling in its speed and strength
A sudden wind, like a cyclone,
Swept past my window today.
From the safety within, I watched it,
Sweeping and shaking the trees nearby.
The locals were expecting rain this evening
But not a drop did fall.
Nature is still so exciting--
My tranquility, my peace of mind
Cannot be found outdoors
Nor can it be found in a throng of men
They have a voice like a lion's roar
They never frighten or intimidate [me]
Nay! They only disgust and bore me
My peace of mind, my joy at heart
Is found at home, with one
Who I love and who loves me
From dawn till dusk, till dawn
For I know that we both crave much love
And we cannot bear to live alone
Aye! there is but one source of peace for me:
That is my love, my sweetheart, Puabi.
Of the Nameless City and Irem
Yonder_among the dry, spreading sands
Where no man may wander,
A vast and shrouded city stands;
Ina secret vault hidden under,
Lies a stone carved by seemingly unknown hands,
Telling of the creatures that once dwelt
In that nameless city.
Neither men, nor beasts, nor both;
Nay! their shape was unlike any beast of Earth.
Above the waist lay a scaly growth
That ended in a pair of flippers like the seals;
But no man alive knows of their birth
And heir likeness remains unearthly and unreal.
On the peninsula , wise ones essayed
To explain these creatures' origin;
They mentioned strange-sounding names:
Reptilicus, Annunaki, Nephalim.
But these monsters remain as nameless
As the city they once built;
Their origin and their culture shrouded in mystery,
The eeriness of their city still felt.
Beyond the city stands a grove of stone,
A mass of columns and pillars, standing tall
Abandoned by its denizens, left alone;
When I was young, sometimes I failed to see
Whatever you said made sense
Nonetheless, I grew and tried to be
Whatever I thought was good
Now you are dead
I live far away from home
I see and hear people who would
Irk you and me both
Entrenched in self-centeredness
Chatting noisily over a meal
Saying everything they feel
Shouting into my ears—
Do they ever wonder
That I really want to hear?
They show their young
Then growl in their tongue
“Do as I say; don’t do as I do.”
Human-ity is through.
The autumnal wind howls in the grove;
The moon is high.
There is a tiding of a new monsoon;
Dark clouds gather in the sky.
All is dark and gloom
That meets my eye.
But within my room, I sit in peace;
And I contemplate the news.
October 5th is a day of mirth.
I wish the same for you.
Beware the storm, if it blows your way;
I am confident that you'll know what to do.
Enjoy the day, when it comes;
Then contemplate your life, when it is through.
And taught me the rules and story
So that on the day that I die
I could live up there in his glory
But I hear the voices all around
That what I learned was just a lie
No glory of God can be found
And my faith I should let die
Now I've seen a mother's warmth to her son
Protecting him from all around
And men who live like we are one
Even though they sleep on the ground
I've seen people give all they have
So a stranger's life may be free
And if we all go down this path
Life is better, you will see
So if we all give into this love
And live life for all its worth
Then I don't need a god above
Because his light is right here on earth
I’d rather believe in something,
Rather than to believe in nothing.
Because to believe in nothing implies there is no purpose.
It implies that there is nothing below or above the earth’s surface.
It suggests that there is no advanced assistance and that our existence
Can be revoked in an instant, despite our apparent spiritual commitments.
It would mean that mankind will not be punished for all their wrong doings.
And that living a good honest life will not grant you a shoe in
To something that is not indefinitely there
And that it was us who made this world unfair.
But if you believe there is something greater in place
And that this something does not have a form, figure or face.
From this something we gain a feeling that cannot be described
And although countless cynics have allied, defied and tried.
They have dedicated their entire lives to proving there is no evidence.
Because disproving that something is the only thing of any relevance.
What if confirming its p
For my lost daughter, Iris
At the age of just 3 years
She sailed through the sky
In the arms of a parachutist
Taking tourists from a beach
She landed, pale as one
Who has seen a ghost
She knew my feelings well
I held her to my heart
What a crying shame!
Her ill-tempered mother laid on the blame!
Soon after that,
We had to part.
