For the Suicide Girls contest.
Enjoy it.
1680 x 1050 pixels.

EMILIE AUTUMN- THE ART OF SUICIDE

The art of suicide
Nightgowns and hair
Curls flying every which where
The pain too pure to hide
Bridges of Sighs
Meant to conceal lover's lies
Under the arches
Of moonlight and sky
Suddenly easy
To contemplate why
Why...

Why live a life
That's painted with pity
And sadness and strife
Why dream a dream
That's tainted with trouble
And less than it seems
Why bother bothering
Just for a poem
Or another sad song to sing
Why live a life
Why live a life

The art of suicide
Pretty and clean
Conveys a theatrical scene
"Alas, I'm gone!" she cried
Ankles displayed
Melodramatically laid
Under the arches
Of moonlight and sky
Suddenly easy
To contemplate why
Why...

Why live a life
That's painted with pity
And sadness and strife
Why dream a dream
That's tainted with trouble
And less than it seems
Why bother bothering
Just for a poem
Or another sad song to sing
Why live a life
Why live a life

Life is not like Gloomy Sunday
With a second ending
When the people are disturbed
Well they should be disturbed
Because there's a story
That ought to be heard
Life is not like a gloomy Sunday
With a second ending
When the people are disturbed
Well they should be disturbed
Because there's a lesson
That really ought to be learned

The world is full of poets
We don't need any more
The world is full of singers
We don't need any more
The world is full of lovers
We don't need any more...

Thanks for watch. :nirvana:

I could have easily spent another day or so just going over this and trying to perfect everything, but alas; I'm out of time! So here it is, imperfections and all.

I don't make a habit out of entering contests, but I figured as the last one I entered was about 12 years ago... It was probably about time, plus I love the sound of this one! I wanted to give it a bit of a poster feel and took a little inspiration from some of my favorite movies and posters; Indiana Jones, Back to The Future... all my favorites, you get the idea.

No references for this one, just a butt load of grain and grunge textures! Grrrrr.

Good luck to everyone who entered!

Photoshop CS6 & Wacom Intuos 5.

(please look the full-sized image -by clicking on Download-, or the wallpaper version ! This drawing was supposed to be seen with some scrolling...)

James & The Giant Peach contest
Every imaginary world is a totally twisted version of the real world. I personally love looking at the real world in a bright way. So... that's where I would escape... even if I prefer facing my problems than running from reality.

By the way, I'm the strange-looking yellow bunny on the right !

Infos
"Wallpaper" Version : [link]

Time : 45~60h
Tools : Photoshop CS3
Original size : 84164960px
Step by step : (coming soon)

Blabla
(The "wallpaper" version is a version you can easily resize to make a desktop screenshot. So that you know, this picture looks REALLY GREAT in a black background.)

It's my first complete background. All the other backgrounds I've done so far were either speedpaintings, either half-assed-because-I-didn't-know-how-to draw. (I still don't know how to draw backgrounds though !)
And from far my biggest drawing.
And probably the drawing that took me the longest time to draw.
And also my, best, illustration, ever.

I've never been so satisfied by a drawing in my life. I thought my level was being worse and worse because my colored sketch commission (that weren't great from the start...) were becoming worse and worse, but it looks like I'm wrong.

It looks like I'm becoming more patient, and that I use less and less "helping" tools like brightness&contrasts/color balance retouches, or things like that. Maybe I'm improving AND growing up.

Anyway... I don't know if you'll understand the meaning of this sentence but :

I'm back.

I thank everybody who supported me so far. I really love you.

My entry for the Cartoons and Comics Contest: Big and Small.

So here goes the Orange dad and son.
They had a very good relationship (though i didn't emphasize it so much as I would be needed to have more box :bucktooth:).
But since well grown oranges is needed to harvest at the right time, pooof! there goes our orange juice.
Really hope I was delivering my message to you very clearly in this piece without me talking around here :D

Since this is a cartoon and comics contest,
drawing personified things saves me from the trouble of learning how to draw cartoon style works (cause generally, that is not my style =p).
But sure, I had fun doing this. :la:

Entry for the Trash to Treasure Contest!
I love upcycling things, so when I saw this contest I knew I had to make something for it! (But I'm always so last minute.... >w<;; )
These paper flower hair clips are handmade from my old, unneeded piano sheet music, then a pearl bead and bobby pin were superglued to it. ( This sheet music was also previously used here; so many uses for old sheet music!: [link])
