Chapter 1: Back to the future
All was quiet. A cold wind swept across the once beautiful plains that had become a barren wasteland. A lone figure stood on top of a hill, leaning on his sword. He was tired, bleeding, and his shield arm was broken in several places. His green tunic was slashed and torn and he was missing one of his gauntlets. In the distance, he could hear the taunting roar of the beast called Ganon. His breath was slow and labored. He could barely stand much less fight. He was out of potions and fairies and any help was almost a day's journey away by now. He glanced over his shoulder and saw the smoking ruins that were once the beautiful city of Hyrule.
Anger welled up in his gut. The shining mark on his hand seemed to glow brighter, causing him to look at it. That symbol that changed his life and called him to a great destiny. The Triforce. A large triangle made up of

The night was cold, the moon showing it's bloody grin looked down on the sleeping Death City. Two figures stood in an alleyway.
One had sandy blonde hair that curled into two pigtails. She wore a skirt and a black trench coat wit white gloves. Her emerald green eyes surveyed the area with a focused gaze.
The other, a male, was leaning against the wall, a bored expression on his face. He had albino white hair and blood red eyes. His sharp teeth made him look meanicing.
The male, named Soul, yawned and turned to his partner, "Hey Maka? Find any kishin souls yet? I'm starving." She turned and looked at him, slightly annoyed, "Is that all you can think about Soul? Your stomach?"
He shrugged and stuffed his hands in his pockets, "Well what else am I supposed to think about? What Lord Death looks like under his mask?" Maka sighed and returned to her watch.

Maka and soul were on there way to the air port on souls bike. Soul was still thinking about the realization of his feelings for Maka. She was riding on the back of the bike holding on to his shoulders as she stood on the railing that lined its sides. She enjoyed she feel of the wind against her face blowing her hair behind her along with her black trench coat. This sometimes worried Soul when they were in busy streets, He felt she might fall off or worse some perv would catch a glimpse of her underwear. Soul had finally felt to worried and made her sit down, But as she sat sown in the seat she wrapped her arms around souls torso. Soul felt his face turn a bright red but he enjoyed the feel of it, it made him feel as if she was holding on to him not just to hold on but to hold HIM.
They arrived at the airport just in time to see Black Star giving a big speech out in the parking lot. Tsubakie was trying to shut him up when she noticed them walking toured th

Soul sat on his bike waiting for Maka to come back with there destination. The day was quiet and calm but something in his stomach twisted and turned. Something was going to happen and it wasn't going to be good. Maka skipped down the steps of the hotel. "The lady at the information desk said there is an old factory just on the outside of the east part of town. Lets get the others and check it out." Soul sped off to where the others were meeting them. He still felt worried but they had to stop who ever this vampire person was.
Everyone was sitting at a stone picnic table. Black star was yelling at passerby's asking them if they want his autograph. "Black star your scaring the kids." Tsubakie said tugging on his shirt. "Oi lets hurry up and go." Soul yelled at the group. "YAHOO! Now I can finally kick some vampire ass." "Do you even know where to go black star?" kid said rolling his eyes at the blue monkey boy. "Not a clue." "Were going to an abandoned fact

After the movie ended, complete havoc broke out. Black*Star was drawing a mustache on Tsubaki's lip, Kid, Patti, and Liz were playing truth or dare, and Maka and I just sat and watched, exhausted. Out of nowhere, Maka takes my wrist, stands up, and starts marching us down the hall. Out of sight of the others, out of their mind.
"Ummm Maka?" I asked. She didn't reply, just kept dragging me around like I was some sort of rag doll. She pulled me into the bathroom, and closed the door.
"What was that all about?" She asked me.
"What all about?" I replied.
She growled and clenched her fists. "You stopped holding my hand, and smiling, and stuff. Are you okay or is this not working out?"
I was suddenly worried. She thought I didn't like her anymore?
"You think I don't like you? Maka, why would I kiss you if I didn't like you?" I asked.
"Because you're you." She said quietly, leaning against the sink.
I scoffed, almost hurt. "I only let go because everyone

"Okay, alright, I'll go pick them up"

All he could hear were those three words, repeating themselves frantically in his mind. No ones supposed to hear it. Nonono Does she know? Does she?
Images flashed through his mind right then; images of that day that used to agonize him to no end he was used to it now.
His heart rate slowly returned to normal and his vision adjusted as he felt the small purple creature place its paw on his foot. He looked down at the little being, once again out of fear, but something stopped him from moving away.
Those eyes they were different from what they had been before. The thin slits for pupils were now large and circular, and its previously frantic gaze was now focused on keeping eye contact with him. Its body shook gently as it tri

God, how much stuff can one girl own? I wonder to myself as another car full of her stuff pulls up in front of the building. I go down to help her carry the boxes in.
her room was down the hall from mine, it was the same size but somehow I didn't think all her stuff was going to hit.
She walked up beside me with a sigh "that's all of it"
"Uh, Maka there's no way all this is going to hit"
"Sure it will" she said opening a box
I lean forward peering over her shoulder, it was full of books. I turn opening a different box; this one was full of books too. I bit my lip to keep from laughing.
"Soul what's wrong?" she asks from behind me
Snicker "is your life in one of these boxes too?" I say jokingly

I had only a short window of time to get a glimpse at the Tiger Witch, Tigress, before Maka made a full-on sprint to the front gate of the cemetery where Kid and Black*Star were waiting with the girls.
"Heyyy!" Patty greeted happily, but then frowned when she noticed Maka's terrified expression. "Maka? What's wrong?" Maka was doubled over, hands on knees as she caught her breath. I could feel it again, her wavelength trembling against my own. I grit my teeth. Fear was one thing that I couldn't always protect her from. I shifted back into my human form as she collapsed in exhaustion and leaned against the gate. I knelt next to her, giving her a worried look.
"You okay?" I asked, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
She nodded, swallowing, before looking up at the rest of the group. "The witch " She said.
"What witch?" Kid questioned. "Where?"
"There was a Tiger Witch. I think her name was Tigress... She was mind-controlling my Papa. I can safely assume she w

"Albarn's office." He stated formally, then frowned, realizing his secretary hadn't answered first. Either she was taking an unannounced coffee break, or this wasn't business.
"Hello," a deep, confidant voice replied, "is this Spirit Albarn, Maka's father?"
"Yes " he hesitated. He knew Maka would never cause trouble at school. Concern furrowed his brow. "What's wrong ?"
"This is the principal of her school, Mr. McMahon. It is crucial that I inform you that your daughter has been a victim in a school shooting, but "

Maka no longer spent the whole lunch period sitting with the strange group that had accepted her the first day. Instead, she lied to them, telling them that shed offered to help one of her teachers with something during the last twenty minutes of lunch. I stood in the kitchen with Maka, preparing snacks as the rowdy gang swung pillows at each other in the living room.
"What an ..'active' crowd." Maka commented, putting the last of the popcorn into a large metal bowl.
"No kidding. I haven't seen Patty laugh this hard since she accidentally knocked one of Kid's paintings over." I replied. Maka giggled and handed me the bowl. I took it into the living room, placed it on the coffee table, and made a run for it back to the kitchen. They all attacked the bowl except for Tsubaki, who, rather, ran from the bowl; like a smart person. Black*Star held the bowl high above his head, laughing.
"YA-HOOO!!!" He yelled victoriously, throwing some popcorn into his mouth. Kid stared at him with an angry expression, and Patty looked about to explode while Liz just stood there, filing her nails nonchalantly. In an instant, Patty was in Kid's hand, and Kid fired at Black*Star, who dropped the bowl, his hands flying to his ribs.

When I pulled up at Steins lab, I hopped off the bike with Maka in my arms, letting it fall to the ground. I didn't care about the bike right now. I needed to get Maka inside. I ran as fast as I could, trying to be as gentle as possible so I wouldn't hurt Maka. I rang the door bell a thousand times over, waiting. Time ticked by and every minute felt like a century. I was beginning to lose patience. Maka's hot blood soaked into my shirt, staining it red.
"STEIN, YOU OPEN THIS DOOR AT THIS INSTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed, and right as I did, the door slid open and a shaggy gray head poked out the door.
"Oh, Soul it's you. Oh, my ." Stein looked at me for a moment an
