This shot was last minute on our way to Badwater in Death Valley. We were greeted by an epic sunset of a storm moving in over us. Earlier in the day we had been exploring some abandoned mines outside of the park when sunset time came around. This is taken of the southern Panamint Range south of Badwater in Death Valley.

What you're seeing is a sandstorm in the valley. The sand being blown upward is creating the multi-colored effect on the mountains (it's no HDR) and creates interesting luminosity around the ridge. Enjoy!

It's easy to lose your sense of direction in slot canyons. This view is shot from under a small alcove slightly peering towards the sky. The forms and colors are one to be admired, as this is truly a fine art sculpture courtesy of mother earth.

Lower antelope canyon, Arizona.
