Dear Teen MeDear teen me,
I wanted to write you since a very long time, but in some ways, I was scared about the dreadful gaze that I would see when confronting the adult realm you are loathing so much.
Dear teen me, you are actually going through a lot, and had built such a big wall to survive, that it is even protecting you from the good things. You are scared. You have the feeling to not be a part of this world, that all of this is a morbid farce...
In a way... you are right. But being only a spectator will not help.
Dear teen me, I know you distrust the will of people, thinking they must be more fragile than you, who's not feeling anything but pain. You, who have no interest for this reality you despise so much.
But, to shut your mouth and close your eyes, to not be able to rely on others... You know, it is not only because you don't want to worry or bother them: It is because of your own cowardice toward the change. One day will come... when people who you can rely on, will appear.

Me rêvant meurtrière de boîtes à pépie.
Quant tu me vois, tu dégorges, tu te répands, tu m'asphyxies,
Alors ma seule envie, c'est de t'étouffer avec un pouf.

Breathe. You must be thinking, seriously, my teen self is acting like an old fart of a teacher telling off overstressed kids, but seriously, breathe. Stop. Pause. Listen. It's your heart beating. It's telling you, I'm beating so damn hard, I might just kill you one day.
Okay, let's digest. There can only be two reasons for your heart to beat like that. One reason is because I wouldn't have changed- I would still be that overzealous, neurotic, depressed teenager with a penchant for word thieves, dream catchers and moment makers. The other reason would be just the opposite: it's beating with life, with purpose, with hope.
I hope you'll be that second person.
Because being that second person means being serenaded by Chopin in a boy's car, travelling down to Bondi Beach watching sculptures rear out of the sea and you're feeling like, maybe, love may finally find you at last. Being that second person means you just won't shut up talking to patrons
10 ways to get inspiredDear, deviantart fellow artists10 ways to get inspired7 months ago in Personal More Like This
Inspiration is such an important subject for every artist. When we have it - we feel amazing and full of creative energy, but when we lack it, we tend to be anxious and procrastinate on things we really like to do.
So here are some of my thoughts about the topic and I hope that they might be helpful.
1. Go outside
We tend to spend way too much time indoors. Try to do some plein-air painting/drawing. Explore the world around you - It's not only good for your health, but It's also a great way to get inspired by nature, people in streets, clouds and sunsets etc.
2. Gather pictures in inspiration folder
If you see some amazing art, photography - save it on your computer. Or fave it in dA, or collect in your tumblr/pinterest board. Look at that folder every once in a while. If you see some really advanced and cool art

Care for the world.
Dare to dream.
Fight for what’s right.
Give back to those you love.
Hold onto what’s dear.
I know the world is harsh.
Just hold on.
Know your limits.
Let those limits fly by, as you live for today.
Many days go by, greet them with a smile.
Open the door to possibilities,
Push through and conquer the world.
Quick, run to the light,
Reach out and take what you want,
Souls were meant to dream.
True, there are bumps on the road,
Use the experience and fly,
Veer off the path-detours are fun,
While others just dream,
eXcape what holds them back,
You only have to take the first step, and then you can,
Zip by, and leave the rest behind.
Internet TimeWe had the Oscars recently and as usual it wasn't without problems. One of the controversies was Chris Rock's biting commentary about doing voice work for animated films, which was unfortunately insulting to the many hard working (yet perpetually unknown) talents who produce about 90% of all voice work in the animated medium. Chris Rock's joke was funny for his circle of friends and the aging academy, but to younger artists and professionals it was very disrespectful. Voice actress Tara Strong took particular issue with Rock's comment and as we speak his twitter account is no doubt being flooded with angry hate messages and likely racism too... which is very unfortunate. http://www.examiner.com/african-american-entertainment-in-national/tara-strong-attacks-chris-rock-over-oscar-2012-animation-comments-quotesInternet Time3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Other issues, such as glossing over Harry Potter and The War Horse completely and giving a Best Animated Film award to the likes of Rango, just continued to fuel my opin

There are several reasons why an artist will make the decision to sell their work. For some artists, it is almost accidental that they are discovered doing what they love by someone who is willing to pay for it. Often these scenarios lead to a decision to go public, but not all artists sell their works so easily. There are artists who study and practice and build up an inventory of works with the full intention of selling those works for income. For these artists who depend upon sales as a means of income, and possibly survival, pricing art is imperative. Then there are the artists who slowly venture into the arena, one piece at a time, testing the proverbial waters and gauging whether or not their works will compete well in the art world. Regardless of the beginnings or the motivations, pricing art is a task which has confounded the best of artists.

Of Getting An Art Major
A heated argument broke out in my house this afternoon.
I live in a rental situation, renting a large room (with my own bathroom and workspace, real nice setup) in a Filipino household. Love my landlord, get along great with the other housemates, but to emphasize the 'Filipino' aspect of the living situation, there's a lot of family taking residence here. And with family, with teenage offspring, with high standards and expectations from the older immigrant generation speaking upon the younger American-born kin, tension is inevitable.
The daughter of one of the housemates is loo
