Loved and LostThey say no rest for the weary.
Save it for when you are dying.
I think of you, your broken heart,
And now, I lie in bed crying.
I'd gladly take away your hurt.
I wish you would never feel pain.
I know it feels hopeless to you.
You'll be lost forever in this rain.
Some, they will strike you down,
You love what is on the outside.
But no matter how hard you try,
From you, it's their love they hide.
Others you have wanted to love,
But eye to eye, you cannot see.
Tirelessly trying over again,
It was just not meant to be.
There will be those that love you,
And you may truly feel the same.
Pleasing them, you're so wrapped up,
It's a wonder you remember your name.
The worst are those who want you,
For who you are and what you make.
Maybe in their way, they love you,
But in the end, it's what they can take.
So go stare out into the ocean,
Remember the beauty in your life.
One day, your truest love will find you.
Worth the pain that cut like a knife.
Lovers and time will come and go,
But love s
PosersYou think that you fool me,Posers1 year ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
But I know who you are.
Your life is so pathetic,
You pretend you're a star.
Lies and deception,
That's what you do best.
Luring in the unsuspecting,
For you, it's one big jest.
You tell your stories,
And play with their hearts.
You find an easy target,
To start throwing your darts.
Leaving lives shattered,
Trails of tears in your wake.
It is never your fault.
It was all their mistake.
Just a black widow spider,
Your new web you've spun.
You leave no survivors,
It's too late now to run.
Does it make you feel happy?
Give you power when you pose.
Still in the end, though,
It's never you that they chose.

Wishfull DreamingI had a Dream about you last night. I was in Hospital; Resting from a day of rehabWishfull Dreaming1 year ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
I'd lost an arm from an accident
I'd built a Robotic prosthetic and was busy using a tablet to fiddle around with it
Trying to increase my reaction time, I heard a soft knock on the door, I reflexively allowed entrance
You said my name, instantly I looked up
I recognized your voice, unmistakably yours
I stared directly into your eyes, trying to figure your reason for being here
Startled, I mutter a returned greeting
Then returned to tinkering with my new arm
"Uhm, I heard about what happened" She said
"Uh-Huh" I grumbled in reply
"I'm sorry" She says, "So am I" I reply.
"I missed you" She begins, "Don't start" I cut in
It's been two years since we last spoke
Even longer since I saw her face
I put all that behind me, am I ready to face it all again?
Avoiding her gaze, I keep toying with my cybernetics
She sits on the end of my bed
Sympathetically staring at my mechanical limb
Reaching out, she softly runs
Passionate FireFire burns bright and hotPassionate Fire1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
Some say it's only meant for destruction and pain
I say they're wrong, fire is more than just wars to be fought
Fire is also a way to start again
Fire can symbolize passion, burning deep with love and friendship
It can consume not just the earth, but our hearts and souls
You cannot hurt fire since you cannot reach it in your grip
Fire burns in my veins, propelling me to reach my goals
Fire represents my love for you
My hate for injustice, my passion for my dreams
It burns bright as a symbol of hope, one that'll see us through
Fire burns the coal of despair into the diamond of triumph, one that brilliantly gleams
Fire will eventually burn itself unto death
Though the flames may lash no more
With its final scorching breath
Fire leaves its mark, burning deep into our core
Fire is meant to be bright and pretty, setting all ablaze
It is also meant to purify us, meant to make our hearts stronger
That is why we are forge
